Scapegoating Poems | Examples

Premium Member Turn the Tables

Apocalyptic riders, riding hard,
pressing, pressing on us
as they come -
how long will they ride
before we all are overcome?
Why do so many
to the horsemen four succumb?
Too many, like sheep, heedless have become.

Anti-democratic and scapegoating leaders
have ruled over us for decades.
No. For centuries!
Wars and misery they bring.
Why don’t we turn the tables
and lock them up in penitentiaries?

Why imitate those liars
being money-hungry,
allowing them control
as we follow ever dumbly?

So few are those who dare step up.
Lonely is the Silver Surfer and Fantastic Four.
A shout-out to humanity -
your courage I implore!

Turn the tables. Turn the tables.
If we’d but take a stand -
think of how the world could be.
Like the Dharma -
It could be so grand.
Let us all together band,
and let Aquarius shine with peace
throughout each and every land.

Premium Member But Still I Have To See

I’ve seen a lot happen, that I couldn’t stop
From a young age, I learned Good vs. Evil
Corruption is not new to me
Pain and suffering is not new to me
Cover-ups are not new to me
Carrying truth, has always been what is to be
I’ve seen lies and I’ve seen denial
I’ve seen scapegoating or blame take a smile
I’ve seen wounds that last a lifetime
And wrongful loss taking some, by crime
My perspective now, I suppose is based on this
Now, before me all the facts replay again
I cannot stop the record or make the blind see
I cannot rid the fear that rules so many
I cannot fix the damage that is done
But, still I have to see

Premium Member Vagabond Romance

romance of a Roma waggon
tinkering around the world
dreams of blissful freedom
no possessions nothing to lose
bells and whistles violin music
horses with intricate saddles
gallivanting on free reins
crackling camp fires

before you unsettle
look around you
scapegoating and othering
xenophobic attacks
even a tramp under a bridge
has less ill repute
at least a German born hobo

last caveat
visit the museum
at Auschwitz Birkenau

Premium Member Opaque Sleepers

Drowning in our incubus sleep,
phantom enemies are devised.
Easy answers for night terrors.
Social purgatory for the stranger,
Our river Styx for the brown ones.

Our fortress must wall them out.
Brown poverty is culpable.
Starving families must be criminals.
Racialism winking and nodding.
Jingoism sneering and taunting.
Everyone knows the words.

ICE round up the suspects.
Our delirious sorcery making police raids.
For us wall builders, it is always midnight.
For us distracted, there is never safety.

We are detainees of our nightmare,
POWs of our wraiths.
The smeared tirades offer glaucoma.
The duplicitous liars supply our slumber.
The scapegoating harangues support our night blindness.
Yet, we always awaken sweating
in our witless twisted sheets.

A State of Mind

Every time I switch on the news I hear that man shouting all kinds of abuse. On Twitter he's a fool chatting all kinds of drool.

Well look a bit closer at your white privellaged life. Scapegoating people of colour. Gays, Muslim and Mexicans too.

You say lets make America great again. When in fact nothing great has changed. More deaths mass shootings and a rise in the far right. What comes out that mouth is a load of e.

Your hypocrisy makes me laugh. Your treatment of women your misogyny plane to see.

You say lets make America 'white' again well it never was from the start. You somehow forget about the indigenous people. Your an immigrant too so show some compassion.

Next time you open your mouth think before you do You white privellaged fool.

Bedtime Story

The depths of my depravity sink
My cruel and careless mind is aligned
With eyes affixed on all I've solely lost:
I dance with my scapegoating ghosts

Yearning to turn the page:
My hands are cut off by Hammurabi--
To keep from gouging Oedipus' eyes:
I am written out of the story

Ambition does not lust after me
I am forgotten in Dante's Inferno
My hands have denied any involvement--
They cite my brain for a lack-of-character(s)

Volition is cemented in the mire of Regret
Yet, She still screams to me:
"'Out damn'd spot! Out, I say!'"
So, we bury my tell-tale heart under the floor...

Premium Member No Longer Captured By Them

Many years ago, they stole my voice
Silencing with threats of death
Authentic life was put on hold
Fake smiles, humor, pretending to survive
Only words written carried me, for who I was
Or playing ‘runaway’ on my bike to the brook
Nature became my safe haven
A creation always waiting for me
When I was older and took my voice back,
The backlash was searing
It was even more difficult to stand my ground
As scapegoating and losses, lashed at me
For speaking truth
But, I would never trade the choice I made
The choice to be who I am, to be free
-	No longer captured by them -

Premium Member What Is a Nightmare

Now then, let us begin. A nightmare is not a FRIEND but
A foe that overflowed. If this be true by decree recluse enclosed
In pain. What is a nightmare when a nightmare is sustained in court
Engrained.
Wars fought insane? That is a nightmare.

With dreams it would seem that nightmares are simple SCAPEGOATING
blamed then be gentle.
Nightmares are STRANGE and rekindle FLAMES Of fire ignite accidental a
Nightmare remains.
Shall we include and make good use of what has been induced.

A nightmare is to loose your BELOVED in an incidental accident. A nightmare
Is a scheme of the mind against REALITY, when it's telling you it's not
POSSIBLE. A WORD of advice: Do think twice before falling asleep at night.
Better to always keep awake until DAYBREAK.

Could it be you think just a wink of a blink of a sleepless night maybe
Unthinkable EPISODES of life. Now, let's ENDURE a nightmare is an INSANE
Dream on steroids? IS THAT MENTAL?

Let's think and rethink this. Nothing of a nightmare shall be relinquished. It
Exist. Do still enlist. Now let's deduce a nightmare is a shell of a dream which
Fell from HELL IN AN UPSIDE DOWN WORLD.

Contagion

A Contagion is spreading, a virus older then the plague.
It kills much slower then Ebola; nowadays.

Not everyone can catch it but it will kill us all.
There is no cure for this virus, we must quarantine all involved.

The basic Symptoms are:

Insatiable lust and want, narrow vision,Irritability,Hypocrisy,Single Mindedness,
Apathy and Irrational Behavior.

Deadly Symptoms are:

Scapegoating,Recklessness,Disregard of Life,Theft and War.

If you see a person with this disease, do not approach them.
Call the center for disease control to have them quarantined.

This message is brought to you by those united against greed.
