Sabbath 'round the bend

   Workweek grinds to an end
     Holy Sabbath just around the bend

   Ring up the last sale, turn the key in the door
     Enter a dimension where your spirit can soar

housework drives me round the bend
there is never an end in sight 
I'd get stuck in to get it finished 
but I'd be up half the bloody night!

Thanksgiving's Round the Bend

How can it be, dear
    Halloween's drawing near

  Thanksgiving then
    will be just round the bend

  Perhaps Labor Day we skipped
    or out of July fourth were gypped

  All I know is 2021's mistletoe
    is still atop our hearth all

The things that await us just Right ‘Round the Bend;
    A mighty adventure’s about to begin.
With Grizzly beside us, we’re soon out the door.
    The woods, they are calling; there’s much to explore!

An overland trek to the northeastern pole,
    Or to climb a great hill, or

When your life is going smoothly,
It’s so simple to pretend
That no negatives are waiting
To assault you ‘round the bend.

Don’t succumb and get complacent,
Thinking joy will never end,
For its opposite is lurking
And it’s right around the bend.

It’s much better if you’re ready,
Which is why I recommend
Never flaunting jubilation;
Sorrow’s skulking ‘round the bend.
