Premium Member Heartache I Cannot Rid

My heart is breaking in pieces
And being ripped out of me
This heartache is for the ones
I broke without showing mercy

Living this life without you
The pain is all that I can take
And what makes it even worse
Is that I caused this heartbreak

If I were able to go back in time
And alter all that I did wrong
You be here in my arms tonight
Which is right were you belong

But I can't go back in time
And resolve the things I did
I'm stuck in reality with regret
With a heartache I cannot rid

Premium Member Blocked

I think you locked the access
To the mail box you kept
For my emails, and that was
A necessary act
You didn’t mean to hurt
You meant to drop the load
That purposeless alerts
The emojies absurd
The messages of sweetness
Whereas in real sense
You think to fight the weakness
With meds of more intense
You need more concentration
And I was a dead weight
A stealer of attention
Who comes to talk too late
And this obsessive care
And obvious advising
Was more than you could bear
In terms of compromising
So you just kicked me out
And you felt no remorse
Cause it was all about
Saving a time resourse
You’ve patched up all the holes
The first thing that you did
Was blocking of the calls
Soon after you got rid
Of everything that could
Remind of my existence
Because it is no good
Considering the distance.

Premium Member Get Rid of the Primaries

     Brawling backrooms
       swirling in smoke

     Bloody negotiations
       served up smart folks

     Like Ike, JFK and
       Harry S. Truman

     No Hillaries or Bidens
       ~ or other clueless humans

Premium Member Rid of You

Rid of You

You were an anchor tied to my feet
sinking me down into your dark sea.
You thought that I could not be complete
without you, but wow! Now I can be me.

It’s great to be free of your frustrating ways:
all your sulking and moaning and putting me down.
You brought me a world in mere varying grays -
like days filled with rain in which I might drown.

Chorus:
Rid of you, rid of you. Now I feel great.
It’s like from my shoulders was lifted a weight.

I bet that to me you weren’t even true.
Better is no one than someone like you.
**********************************
The sun feels much warmer now on my skin.
The grass now seems greener and bluer is sky.
How trusting was I to once let you in.
Watch me now, Boy; I’m going to fly.

A lark I can be, and my bright song
will be my incentive wherever I go
to not let a man again do me wrong.
With joy I’ll soar above the rainbow.

Chorus:
Rid of you, rid of you. Now I feel great.
It’s like from my shoulders was lifted a weight.

I bet that to me you weren’t even true.
Better is no one than someone like you.

Premium Member Get Rid of the Interloper

I was cautioned, he is a master chessman, so if we go ….
We have to not even whisper, and we have to tiptoe
I was expecting an owl, for I had heard he was a fowl.
I was shocked to see it was a parakeet and uttered a vowel.

The parakeet said get rid of the interloper and I was led away
So I did not see the match between him and Alice that day.
I never went back, for they had put me in jail.
And I decided to stay, for it was a place to get mail.

Premium Member How Do I Get Rid of Lizard

lizard the balloon animal showed up on a Monday
Refused to go to church the very next Sunday
Had his own way, and stared at me with buggy eyes
I was a bit afraid of him, he drew bees, wasps and flies

who created you? I asked, but he made not a peep
I figured it was my imagination, when I was deep in sleep
how do I get rid of him? I asked my neighbor Mrs. Hop
Just take a pin, she told me. “you will hear a little pop.”

Clarke Gets Rid of Feared Visitors

Don Clarke acted like one who’d soon leave.
His callers stood up in compliance,
Then heard the gasped relief Clarke did heave,
To them Clarke’s hurting non-reliance:
The fears of losing his appliance!

“Clarke might his tears wipe with his shirt’s sleeve!”
His stereo that fuels his vain long dance.
Oh! How Clarke loved the songs Big Stars weave;
His mind songs help to strike some balance
Once more, he shall thank Reeve Steve,
For its purchase and song-listening chance…

Meanwhile, play-acting for his callers
Feared by him Disguised Stereo Sellers.

Premium Member Help Rid the World of Crack

It’s a problem that I see time and time again,
An issue that’s so rampant throughout lots of schools.
Although some (culprits) victims may be children of your friends,
You should not encourage them to think that they’re cool.

This epidemic is not only in school halls.
It has become an issue out in the world.
The problem has spilled over into public malls
Where there are lots of innocent boys and girls.

Young children should never have to see such a thing.
We can’t continue to let them fight this alone.
Children aren’t aware of the shame that they may bring
To the very parents that provide them a home.

Many of these kids are too young to know better.
So, as adults, we have to step in and show them
That, as a family, if we stand together
Their addiction can ultimately be condemned.

If you’re willing to give them the shirt off your back,
Why not make an investment that’s much more heartfelt?
Let’s help to finally rid the world of crack
And give every kid in America a belt.

Premium Member Bat Tries To Help Me Get Rid of a Pesky Toad

A bumpy toad jumped on my nose and refused to get off.
I tried to gross him out, much phlegm I garnered in a cough.
He was determined and held on tightly with his webbed toes.
I was irritated because after all, it is my own private nose.

Come help me! I yelled to a bat in the belfry below.
He came up and bit the toad on his middle little toe.
The toad bit him back, actually sliced off his head with his teeth.
I was really grossed out when I saw what was underneath.

Can'T Get Rid of Covid Blues

Here I lie in Ramona,
sick with the virus Corona.
     I feel like hell
     and cannot smell,
but glad I don't have pneumonia.

In five days' time, I finally felt fine:
Free from the virus Corona.
     Then again it hit,
     now I'm sick as Schmidt,
as I lie in bed in Ramona.

Premium Member He Rid Erin of Snakes: Or Did He

'Tis said Saint Patrick rid Erin of snakes

If such is true what a great tale it makes

      Skeptics claim it ain't true

         Others haven't a clue

Could be a scam like the Irish Sweepstakes

Get Rid of the Evil

Money, has created the wealthy
and many, who are unhealthy

Money, has given us disease
with a bacterium, of too many humans

Money, has created the wars
which has made, many sores

Money, has made many do crime
to relieve stress, by having a dime

Money, is not there for many
to have, a good quality life

Money, has been abusing our granite
which can only, destroy our planet

Money, has taken away equality
with no chance, of becoming equal

Money, has taken away respect
to care and be fare, for all life

Money, is destroying our creatures
by bulldozing, Mother Nature

Money, has given us leaders
who greed, for their own need

Money, has created those who are evil
who use and abuse, just like the devil

Get rid of Virus

        Still afraid of virulent virus?
Remedy is brought by pink lotus.
               Separate petals
              from verdant sepals.
       Boil to make juice delicious

Premium Member What Will You Get Rid of Next

Daisy chain
Dandelion fun.
Smell stems.
But gorgeous flowers.

Weeds?
No way!
The prettiest offerings
In the yard.
I throw out my hands.

Crazy that anyone
Would want to
Get rid of them!
What?
Are you nuts?

What will you try to get rid of next?
Imagination?
Faeries?
Pixie dust?
Rainbows?
Unicorns?

No way I say.
These are not weeds.
They are God’s sunniest flowers!

I Can Not Get Rid

I cannot get rid
This angel haunting my soul
Seeing your face in the sky
