Premium Member Grace in the Curve

There's strength in being bent, askew,
for in nature nothing is straight on cue.
Trees lean the way the wind blows.
Streams carve the path where water flows.
Bending to flex and bow is not compliance,
For resilience resists, reworks defiance.

Before I Start Happy Merry Whatever This Day Means To You

fates to see another
do you now there is a bug called the bah that hums
not reely spelt really wnrog
the presents following the now
passed ghosts
futures we haven't got
God there is less of us
less of everyone
and more lay dead
the last 2 lines are reworks
of the first and last of A Christnas Carol
but concerning covid just a thought
And a last happy new year

Reborn here now without baggage;
moving on was my dawning thought.
The torn, fear the clout; the salvage.
We like tatty. Not what we ought.

A new horizon full of hues.
Reborn here now without baggage.
One with myself; I’ve found my muse.
Rebirth reworks the worth; adage.

A ton of truth; tiny package.
Twisted words, prove which screws are loose.
Reborn here now without baggage,
You must put my insight to use.

We like tatty. Not that we ought.
Every idea; a passage,
corridor, where lessons are taught.
Reborn here now without baggage-

Premium Member Prejudice Is Subliminal and Subtle

Prejudice is subliminal.
We all have it, even those of us who think we do not.
Let’s say….
Carl is humiliated and embarrassed in a bedroom with yellow flowers.
From now until he reworks the script, all bedrooms with yellow flowers are the enemy.
We loathe yellow flowers his brain tells him, not knowing why.
He never gives a yellow flower a chance.
Each time he thinks he hates one, he programs his brain to agree.
He never gives a yellow flower a chance.

Prejudice is subtle.
We all have it, even those of us who think we do not.
Let’s say….
Kathy is bullied by a girl with freckles, who makes her feel horrible for six school years.
From now until she reworks the script, all people who have freckles are the enemy.
We hate people with freckles! Kathy’s brain tells her, she does not even know why.
But she never gives a freckled person a chance.
Every time she says to herself, I hate people with freckles she reinforces her cell memory.

Prejudice is subliminal and subtle.
If we can figure out who wronged us or where we were wronged
And rework the script, we might be able to eliminate it.

Premium Member Beaches Breached and Broached

Beaches are where breaches adorn like brooches
Waves curl up to breach the surface of sea,
Then break, plunging headstrong to broach on shore.
Wales and dolphins breach off the beach with spit and spurt.
Crabs and worms breach the sand with holes and borrows
Waves and ripples crease the wet sand with furrows
The surge of tide erodes and reworks the inlet channels
A beach is a shore breached and broached in dynamic equilibrium and flux
Eroded, exposed then sand deposited, accrued and hoarded
With sediment piled up in reserve in dunes, hills, swales and shoals
Birds breach the sky and pierce the scenery
Footprints broach the serenity of beach expanse
Beaches - breached and broached are designed to cope.
