So many are saying things unkind,
disparaging or hurting some other.
Saying whatever crosses their mind,
and often the truth they will smother.

Often each story is slightly slanted,
with a straight face, many belie.
Once it’s news it can’t be recanted,
and half a truth is still 100% lie.

Premium MemberRehashing History: Galileo

...or What's science got to do with it?

Galileo looked through a lens one day
And, boy, was he astounded.
The Earth wasn't flat as he'd been told,
It was, in fact, quite rounded.
Pope Urban VIII then came along
And said, "No, that's absolutely wrong,
For, I, the Church, do not agree, and I'm the Wise One.
It's just as plain as plain can be why my pontifical decree's
The Earth is flat and ends right there at the horizon.
And for infallibility, you know, I am renownded."

So Galileo relented and recanted his boast
So he wouldn't be tortured or turned into toast.
A few centuries passed,
A new Pope said he guessed
That his theory might have been misjudged,
Since back then science was begrudged,
And the Church owed him a pardon,
Or a posthumous papal "perhaps", at the most.

Wrongful Conviction

In 1955,in Lincoln,Nebraska,John E.Reid hepled
gain a confession from a suspect,darrel parker,
for parker's wife's murder.This case established
Reid's reputation and popularised his technique.
Parker recanted his confession the next day,but
it was admitted to evidence at his trial. He was
convicted by a jury and sentenced to life in prison.
He was later determined to be innocent, after another
man confessed and was found to have been the
perpetrator.Parker sued the state for wrongful
conviction;it paid him $500,000 in compensation.

Bajou

you gave a bajou
and the summer rain
toppled and confused
we left under our own accords

In the morning
we recanted,
sitting in misery
you said you never loved us

we tried to stroke our bruised egos
but the arcane wind was chaffing,
with the rest of your friends
we sweetly languished
unkissed by the dawn

Premium MemberPut That Quote To Use

God knows I did wrong, but I tried to change.
But all I begrudge is to maintain my brazenness.
It will never satisfy me until I endure my life range.
My beloved, forgive me or release my madness.

I once walked right into a storm in my spine.
plastic raincoat in hand, heart on shoe top.
Above rain-firing clouds, war clouds sunk supine.
No languor or exhaustion, only a feast non-stop.

Smacking into the horizon that defies stone.
Recanted, now wearing a torn shirt full of falls
I'm on the road, pen in hand, set to do war alone.
Find a wind-sheltered beggar near torn walls.

I suppose cruel people are just hopeless.
Do you blame your life on your diaper?
When music comes on, my face is yolkless.
Is it worth it to wish for things to go hyper?

I am now able to travel across the world.
I'll cycle and listen to lead music this year.
I must admit to being one proud furled.
"Don't worry, be happy" is for me, dear.

Someone spirit,
Spirit is in the air;
The color Purple, royalty that you wear;
And a Golden Crown, that's placed upon your head
Mercy and Grace surrounds them, yes

Yet In the twinkling of an eye, you will be there by their side My Father God and His Son Jesus
Yes, in a twinkling of an eye, you would be by their side
the Angel's and my Father God and Jesus

Physical life you spent,  you chose send you were relentless;
But things you did change, you turned your life around-around;

You repented and yet you recanted it's by Jesus grace, that you now see His face

Now you've died and they laid you beside yourself and, but before you left you repent it and now your praises Spirituality eyes (you now can FLY, you now fly(

...and In the twinkling of an eye you will be there by their side My Father God and His Son Jesus
Well, in the twinkling of an eye, you will be by their side
the sides of angels choir singing devotionals
Singing those Hallelujahs

Brightest Of Gems, In Glowing Emerald Forest

There was a great tree there, its roots firmly planted
as solid as love vows, those never recanted,
its massive trunk and limbs, majestic to behold
beautiful treasures, as in tales oft retold
surrounding woods, a glimmering emerald green
all in all, as if from a bright fairy tale scene.

To visit, watch dawn's lights set it colors aglow
is to see Heaven and Nature's truth, clearly know,
our lives are wrapped in fragile, weakened human states
chained cells of wants, each one praying its not too late
seeing evidence of Heaven's stamp upon earth
giving promises of better life, ones own worth.

To find such peace basking in its soft healing touch
one should kneel down to pray, requesting not too much,
for Heaven's light flows forth from that massive, tall king
from its branches, flocks of glorious birds oft sing
within its cools shades, its living colors send out
proof of God's glory, that cause believers to shout.

God Granted and Am Enchanted

God Granted and Am Enchanted

What all to me that God had granted,
Was encouraged as well as enchanted
Had a desire,
To inspire;
Song to Him sang that I had recanted.

Premium MemberBelieve Your Heart

Vows get recanted as passions flounder
on the shoals of betrayal and remorse.
And drifting dreams navigate in darkness
whenever love starts to wander off course.

Beware of lust, a cunning emotion,
touting trickery and deceit as truth.
The seeds of trust oft germinate slowly,
and patience is a virtue new to youth.

Naive hearts are vulnerable to lies,
for the truth often appears conflictive.
Yet when love creates tears of happiness,
their salty-sweet taste can be addictive.

The feeling of being unique and prized
is awesome, combining two into one.
And purges the hurt from a broken heart,
instilling happiness, laughter, and fun.

Intimate moments make life worth living,
a time when your heart's devoid of despair.
Even though it is intangible, love's
physical impact is beyond compare.

To be loved is to feel wanted and whole,
instantly giving life a brand-new start.
For it's a miracle unto itself,
asking only that you believe your heart.

Luckiest Girl In the World

For you my words have been so carefully fashioned

for you, I am wholly, completely impassioned

Over these thoughts, in my mind I have clamored

though in truth, it is obvious I am completely enamored

for you all my world and time has been allotted

my heart smiles, yes I am besotted

with you I no longer survive, but I live

it's true that with you I am amative

for you I have love, which cannot be recanted

by you, quite clearly I have been enchanted

my heart I give you freely, for I cannot be captured

with you, I am calm, and yet also enraptured

how did I come to be so lucky I wonder

did the universe stumble, is this just a blunder?

which leaves me grinning like a fool, lost in bliss, toes curled

Or am I just the luckiest girl in the world?

The Media
By Franklin Price
2/21/2016

The Media is quite confused
Finding they can't make the news
The internet's ahead of them
And their lopsided views

Some media Republican
Some are Democrat
The truth is in the middle
Where society is at

The internet will give us news
Eventually the truth
By the time we get down to it
Will be much longer in the tooth

Social sites simply satisfy
Common curiosity
Personal preponderance presented
For other members there to see

Doesn't mean that truth is found
When common ground sought
Just someone else believes the same
We've found ones with common thought

Don't blindly trust the social sites
Or reported news that's slanted
For if it's found, it's not the truth
It's easily recanted

Fewer People

Fewer People

The Fewer People who you will upset
Campaign results improve getting better yet
Instead of having voters moan and groan
They will love you much and not leave alone.

People approach you at doorsteps out front
Seeking more voters who have had to hunt
Wanting to hear what they have to say
Might shift over to your side yes they may.

Politics a behavioral science it has become
After hearing the sound of a distant drum
And while around camp fire people chanted
Maybe what we said should all be recanted.

Love Recanted

The distance growing
between us is cold
I've already mourned
you with out restrain
my heart an out pour
of disillusions now
magnified through
bitterness and rage.

I thought I'd love you
for the rest of my life
now I can only pray this
pain one day to subside.

Lines have been crossed
destroying everything I
once believed to be sacred
between us.

Let me go quietly don't
torment me through
meaningless outcries.

Just walk away don't say
another hurtful thing
Don't lend yourself to be
the executioner waiting to
cut the very thin thread thats
kept me alive.

One last thing I wish to tell you
 before I say goodbye
when I said "I LOVE YOU" I truly
meant it now those words left on
my lips to die.

But Our Flag Was Still There

Many mistake this phrase especially now a days
They believe it is a right to which they never had to fight
Not seeing the enormous sacrifice of all those who paid the price
Not seeing the pride as we honor all of those who have died

So much has been recanted as we take so much for granted
Everyone just in it for the wealth always looking out for themselves
Never in turn giving back to what this country itself may lack
Always just out looking to take what took so many so long to make

And as they try to harness Her, Her color begins to tarnish
And with each decade Her luster now quickly begins to fade
With so much just given away she so rarely has Her say
This once brilliantly bright light now often not allowed in sight

Extend your hand to Her listening to how things were
Dust off Her Face and return to her Gods bountiful Grace
She beckons to again rise and for you to open up your eyes
…”but our flag was still there”, maybe it’s time that you start to care

Biblical

A California Costco
Labelled all its Bibles fake;
In other words, as fiction –
Then recanted their mistake.

A pastor who was shopping
Tweeted photos to his flock
And when they saw the “fiction” label,
Many were in shock.

The proper tag – religion?
Seems the answer to the question,
But if you have a thought, well,
Costco’d welcome the suggestion.
