Premium Member Bloods Rapid Color Change

I am fascinated by blood’s rapid color change
blue inside my skin
the older I get, the better I can see the azure color
my hands have a crooked trail of blue under the skin

and yet, the instant someone puts a needle in my vein
the blood changes to red
I want to put my eye down there and see it as blue
before oxygen can turn it
so, it will seem more royal, less common

I have not figured out a way yet.

Premium Member rapid growth of millies hair

Millie’s hair grew six inches a day
Serious growth that did not stray
Did this make her feel happy or gay?
We do not know, for she did not say.

She tried new remedies every day.
Goo of fly and spit of ornery blue jay.
Other combos that sounded rather cray-cray
Ideas borrowed from a mushroom fey.

Would her hair slow down when it turned gray?
It might suggested a non-knowing stingray.
Millie spent most of her wages and her regular pay.
Trying to get her growing hair to grow the regular way.

Premium Member Rapid Urban Belt - Anacreontic Couplets

Gilt-edged first light visions greet
zestful horde in trendy street
Luscious coffee bouncing bean
set alight a dormant scene
Pumpkin seeds dot fresh brown toast
eager staff cool vibrant host
Ghetto blasters rock and blare
raucous voices split the air
Backbeat sold on grey stone curb
manic newsstand with the blurb
Toil worn riser half asleep
speed bump traffic jam’s beep beep
Noisy dockland, wharf or pier
naval fringe cry, coast is clear
Blue horizon sky high quest
humdrum route dull second best
Stock exchange a whirling disc
budding Gordon Gecko risk
Rapid urban belt whose rift
spurs its city’s latent gift

There’s Nothing Like a Good War

There’s nothing like a good war.
I watched a video of men killing men
Rapid fire, rapid death, rapid fear
When will we ever learn? Never?
It’s in our DNA and used against us
Goad a man, tell him his country needs him
Tell him, to go kill the villagers
Tell him, they deserve it. His gun needs
To by fired, it’s bullets like him are
Expendable, always more to take their place.
Nothing like a good war, a noble cause
Which has God firmly on its side
Thought up by a presidential psycho
On his yacht on a Sunday morning
While a calm sea and fresh breeze
Tickles the blond call girl’s hair.
A moment of boredom and an
Unprovoked attack takes shape.
A couple of weeks of genocide
Watched by a paid audience
Eating from the same trough
Wishing they’d thought of it first
No, there’s nothing like a good war
A gentle genocide, a worthy cause
A mother tells her son, fight or you’ll
Go to prison, certain death is much better
She gets his boots, ten quid and a
Medal. He gets eternity. Nothing like
A good war?

Premium Member Rapid Ascent

Rapid ascent, secret desires
Identity crisis
Fairy tale powers heart aspires
But a form of madness

Cessation’s the way, dear
Discarding our each fear
God Himself will appear

Premium Member Mrs Rapid Fire Talker

She talks fast
as if she is afraid
if she does not get it out
she might be interrupted

which amuses us
for she is the one
who does all the interrupting
in this lunch room

She is desperate now
for an audience
talking faster.
We flee to our rooms
to eat alone.

Rapid Eye Matinee

As we go to sleep we know not whats in store.
slipping into a sweet slumbering abyss.
Down in the rabbit hole- dreams form from thin air.
playing with the soul or rattled to the core,
rarely known it's not actually real.
Made of precious beauty or nightmarish gore.
Spirit world has its macabre puppet show.
As we lay unmoving and we gently snore.
Not knowing quite where reality exists,
Dreams form from thin air- down in the rabbit hole.
Too deep to know why, too real to ignore.

Rapid Progress

Have a great birthday, Brother Jess,
People enter into the fold;
Men see the Church's rapid progress,
For God fulfills what He's foretold.

I've ridden zebras on the Serengeti,
swam the wildest seas;
I've played golf with old Jack Benny
-brought Ali to his knees.
I've killed zombies in my bedroom,
a werewolf on the lawn
-fought vampires at the edge of doom
before the break of dawn.
I've spent the night with Marilyn,
had a beer with Gable
-watched Astaire's light-footed spin
with Ginger on my table.
I helped Howard Hughes with all his schemes
-sang with Elvis as they screamed,
but then, like life, just what it seems
-a crazy mixed up old weird dream!

Rapid Transit
By Miracle Man
August 30, 2020

My mind is like a playground,
where endless thoughts skitter rapidly.
Pining to be heard they appear unbound,
but few morph into words, to be displayed in ink.
When the bell rings and recess ends,
most vaporize, because they stink.

Rapid Heart

Rapid Heart

My heart is rapid,
My thoughts are swift,
My heart is a rhapsody of song that is as wild as our love,
My heart beats with yours,
My rapid heart is our life and without it I would not be,
My rapid heart is with you always until the end.
