Premium MemberAn Unforgettable Christmas Day

It had been so long since I’d felt loved and wanted.
Then I met John. We basked in our late-in-life romance.
Gone was the loneliness that had left me feeling haunted.
Our relationship proved I had been wise to take a chance.

Though somewhat set in our ways, we adjusted well,
each accommodating the other. He often mentioned how much
we were alike. We had no serious disagreements. I fell
more deeply in love with him, daily craving his touch.

A year after we met, he proposed. Of course, I said, “YES!”
We retirees in the autumn of life would be together forever
enjoying each other and family, traveling. No stress---
Then came the devastating blow. Forever became never.

He called on Christmas Day, of all times, to say he’d changed his mind.
This man who’d often mentioned how alike we were declared
that we were too different. He made no effort to be kind,
to let me down gently. I doubt he ever loved me—or even cared.

He's been a casket full of bones for for six or seven years.
When I learned of his demise, I deeply sighed but shed no tears.

Premium MemberWhat Makes Me Smile--All Things Christmas

I love the sights of Christmastime
from manger scenes to mistletoe.
Sweet, joyous sounds pervade the air
from "Praise the Lord" to "HO HO HO!"

I give to those who are in need,
for God says, "Love your fellow man."
Then when I shop for family,
I buy them every gift I can.

The carolers and choirs perform
"O Holy Night" and "We Three Kings,"
while celebrants in living rooms
sing tunes about what Santa brings.

A prayer precedes our Christmas feast;
the smorgasbord brings great delight.
The kids soon snuggle near the fire
enrapt as Dad starts, "'Twas the Night . . . “

This season is a splendid time
that bears a special, holy name,
so as I smile through "Jingle Bells,"
I won't forget why Jesus came.

You Can't Have Christmas Without Christ

without christ, christmas feels so small
lights are bright but that's not all
a tree can't hold the weight of love
without that star shining above

it's not just dinners, gifts, or cheer
there's something bigger drawing near
a baby born in a quiet place
bringing hope to every face

take him out, it all feels thin
like a song without a meaning within
but with christ, it's clear and true
a light that shines in all we do

Christmas Waves of Joy

Beneath the palm trees, Santa sighed, forlorn,
His sleigh stuck fast, his reindeer worn and still.
The Florida sun rose bright that Christmas morn,
A far cry from the frosty North Pole's chill.

The elves devised a clever, timely scheme:
They called on dolphins to replace the sleigh.
With flippers strong, they swam like in a dream,
And Santa laughed, "We'll save this Christmas Day!"

Through waves they flew, with gifts for every child,
A coastal cheer spread warmth both near and far.
Santa proclaimed, his heart and face beguiled,
“Even the tropics can't outshine our star!”

Premium MemberChristmas Lost In Madison Wisconsin

Today, in Wisconsin, three children lost their lives.
The media of course pours on us, emotional jive!
I, personally, cannot imagine, such a heartbreaking loss.
In a school, no less, friends and parents bear the cost!

Mental illness is a bloody monstrous thief.
When neglected,……it causes endless grief!
Watch the screams to take guns away.
While the breath of innocents by other means.

No…no guns needed …no,none at all.
Young girls choked and raped.. no border, needed.at all?
Fentanyl came here flowing like rivers without any ration.
Add 1,500 last minute pardons, we will not have a nation!

Premium MemberDasher and Dancer's Christmas Eve Call Offs

Dasher and Dancer yelled midair
and said to Santa, “We can't fly!
Earth satellites have made a snare
of wireless currents in the sky!”

Then Santa answered, “Use plan B-
come down one level in the sky.
Take care and watch! Don't hit a tree
or steeple top as we zoom by!”

So they both did as Santa said,
though still, they'd be a little late;
made headway now with deer and sled
where techno-waves had low-flow rate!

Premium MemberLight That Lights All Lights

The Star which led the shepherds to
that miracle so long ago
is what they saw at last to view-
this light of lights unveils its glow.

For there, our Savior Christ was born
to gift that beam which sets us free
to live with grace- awake each morn;
within that light forever be.

And so that Star of Bethlehem
which guided shepherds with their sight
became the promise passed to them;
spread far His Light unveiled that night.

Seems anything decent someone finds fault,
too many things are now said to be divisive.
A lawsuit comes next, then it comes to a halt,
the supreme court has the vote that’s decisive.

Today, The Nativity Scene is the gripe receiver,
it only took one claiming a violated right.
Complaint brought to light by a non believer,
now this person’s lawyered up, ready to fight.

To avoid a lawsuit,
town Nativity scene in play,
Is now the three wise men
plus Santa and sleigh.

Premium MemberSomething Left Behind

There must be something left behind,
of the child that we used to be.
If we search within we may find,
that we still hold on to the key.

Christmas, a time of joy and love,
with it's glow of heavenly light.
A brilliant star, from high above,
shining through the darkest night.

As we grow older we drift away,
from childhood visions and dreams.
Sadly, the innocence doesn't stay,
it can't live among adult themes.

Why can't we search our mind,
for a fond memory pushed aside?
Perhaps there is one, easy to find,
and will no longer be denied.

One could lead to many more,
until their power would revive.
All of the magic we look for,
as our Christmas spirit comes alive.

Premium MemberWE PRAY TO THEE

We pray to Thee, the divine infant,

Our weary hearts, to purify

For we desire worthy to be

Thou Holy name to glorify!

Premium MemberA little girl and her Christmas dream

                       12/19/2023

 A Chicago snowstorm at Christmas,
 was always my wish.
Red, shiny boots with warm, fluffy fur,
both in and out.
I lived in the rolling suburbs where a huge
snowball tasted delish!
Those flakes were from Heaven, not one
 of a doubt.

But our joy of all joys, buiding Mister Snoman,
our friend.
His, hat, eyes, mouth and gloves were surely
at the ready.
My sled loaded with shovels, we were happy to
build him and bend!
Noses running from the cold, who cares, there
he pourdly stood.in his glory, Mr. Snowman , our
dearest …Freddy!

We could barely sleep that charming, snowy
winter’s gleaming night.
Mommy served us hot chocolate before we
finally went to bed.
Our little girl’s innocent joyful heartstrings
sailed to the moonwith delight.
I recall dreaming of sleighbells, in my nightgown
soft, flannel nightgown of festive red .

Premium MemberChristmas Tree

“Not many fake things are so nice for me, but I sure love an artificial tree.” quote by poem's author

We had to ditch last year our Christmas tree.
Worn out it was! We needed something new.
Big after-Christmas sales we went to see,
and huge discounts were more than just a few.

We saw a tree – not too small or too tall -
a beautiful white tree that was pre-lit.
There were no boxed ones left of it at all.
I liked it best, so “as is” we bought it.

We had to place it carefully inside
the back of hubbie’s truck, which worked okay.
In three parts it could come apart to hide
it till the time we’d put it on display.

I love the softness of its lights. It seems
like candy land! We did not know about
the way its lights give different types of beams.
We put it up and figured that all out.

Its colored lights can have a steady glow,
or they can stay one certain color, or
they can flash or brightly beam, then fade low.
I could not wait to get it on our floor!

Fun ornaments and garlands go around
that tree, which makes it a joy to look at.
Our two cute kitties very quickly found
our tree but don’t attack it. I’m glad for that!

CHRISTMAS ALONE

Like lone soldier, wounded from war
That mends his heart from place afar
On a nature away from home
He's left to wander and to roam

But he's trained to live on his own
And to spend a Christmas alone
When there's no other, there's no choice
He can converse with his own voice

Christmas alone also is fun
Alone, one dazzles like the sun
Don't find someone when you're alone
Try to be happy to the bone

Christmas 2023
Written: by Miracle Man
November 26, 2023

Amid all the decorations,
and celebrations of the season.
lets look past these things,
and embrace the true reason.

It is during this season,
we’re asked for generous seed.
From donations collected,
we help those in need.

Jesus’ physical entrance,
was at His Bethlehem birth.
He came into the world,
fulfilling a mission on earth.

Jesus came to offer his life,
as a ransom for mankind.
Live life without Jesus,
and you’ll be left behind.

Merry Christmas

Premium MemberLetter To Mama

Your voice, your face, your love for me
exist still in my heart and mind.
Though you've been gone for many years,
your essence isn't hard to find.

I hear expressions you once used;
you speak your truths to me once more.
I see you in my siblings' eyes
and feel you to my very core.

When visiting the library,
I see the romance books you read.
A lovely plaque that speaks of you
sits on the dresser near my bed.

We still have feasts on Christmas Day.
I always smile, remembering
your pies and meats--that gravy, which
I poured on almost everything!

When others think and speak of me,
I hope they have a kindly view.
Perhaps they'll see my better traits,
those nurtured by the Lord and you.
