...or Jack be walking funny for a while...

Jack was nimble,
And Jack was quick,
But he miscalculated
That candlestick.
It was skinny and tall,
He was thick and quite small.
When he lit,
It was with an undignified bump,
With a blister
The size of his fist on his rump.
Then a notion occurred
To this game little actor,
Before he tries it again,
Jack will use a protractor.

The Dance of Jealousy

“The sight of a feather in a peacock’s tail, whenever I gaze at it, makes me feel sick.” – Charles Darwin

With his train of covert feathers
Fanned like a protractor, a
Peacock stepped slowly
Turning to catch right ray of light
And holding on still, to be better judged
By the alert single peahen
Another peacock mustered up
Gazing intensely ahead,
Gracefully moving, carrying
The weight of his trail effortlessly.
Two males startled each other
By the dance of jealousy, held
Their gaze focused while
Shaking, rattling & shivering
The choosy peahen left.
The Dance stopped, their Jealousy too.

I Know A Place

I know a place in the rural sector,
            close to the bye-pass connector.
five fulvous furrowed fields, each one hectare
           measured accurate with tape-protractor,
owned by peasant of rustic character.

Wild weeds yield tiny blooms with sweet nectar.
Dawn dews on grass shine in Sun’s projector.
Happy grasshopper hops : Vibrant vector.
Sparrows- Sterlings chirping : Frolic factor.
Farmer feels free to drive modern tractor.
Ripen crops are taken by collector.

Farmer is developing agriculture on devotion.
He uses the modern system of drip irrigation.
Water wastage arrested on least water consumption.
I know a place where runs ideal cultivation
           honouring utmost Nature’s contribution.

Wandering Child

O! wandering child how far would you go?
how lost would you be found,?
Into the caves of nature extravaganza

No brother to keep you, no mother to wean you
no guardian to hood until you stumble into
The pit of random jamboree.

Like the cotton wool you wave
From nooks to crannies
And the wind is your transport
When it blows, you go
from Kilimanjaro to olumo rock
from California to Mauritania.

Rumble no more my dear,
to stumble no further
to be drunken in your misery.

your protractor is found
your compass is located
and navigation is activated.

So gather your experiences
endeavors & sail home
Turn home & you will be greeted
By mother repentance
Open hands

Dear strong, mysterious Mr. Richter,
I have adored you all semester.

It's all about the way you say "cosign"
and the command you give to busy equations.
You keep those numbers all in line,
as if any one could give dissuasions.

With exponent passion you draw me in,
a mathematician first, then a teacher.
Each number's a friend, a neighbor, a kin.
Each student is a math-munching creature.

You couple denominators, strong and alike,
a prismic marriage of commonality,
then suddenly you divide them like
a Shakespearean tragedy.

Then you flip-flop like common weather,
and in a calm numerical tangent,
you bring those digits back together
like a quadrilateral sonnet.

Your rhombus eyes, like tigers animate
when you say the word "perpendicular."
Could you say you'd ask me for a date,
anywhere logarithmic, but I'm not particular.

Take me away on a coordinate plane,
parallel to a median integer
with stem-and-leaf plot as the terrain,
and a commutative property perimeter.

I can offer admiration and a laugh,
just teach me how to use a protractor.
Of all the variables on a bar graph,
we are the greatest common factor.

humbleness and humility
and the enigma of the motivation
and the direction of the action
the swing of the involuntary till it becomes voluntary
the taming of temptation

the question of elevation and degradation
and the arrogance of shallow sophistication
the enlightment of deep simplification
it's the magic of the 360°
it's the taboo of trinity
threes, bees, and degrees.... did you get the metaphor eternity and trees

there's a missing factor why do you thing they wander with their protractor
enthroned is the distractor, he's the x factor conquering the e factor
so he brought the wonders of the fifth element
building the kingdom of the hologram for the new man, a kingdom of nothing, wonder if he fail or will he implement
they're for the constellation blue tent
woe to those who surrendered body and soul only to earn a bent rent

Brexit Sonnet 38 - Political Incline

Brexit Sonnet No. 38
‘Political Incline’

Our ingrained political geometry has not changed,
It's always been three sides with rightish angle.
Political incline set by side size range,
Now at max, as even sides do wrangle.
Our sides, no number three and four we find,
Or even count at twelve opposing five.
If t’were, politics could be less inclined
To slip down slope, in Brexit’s mud to dive.
It matters not how acute our shape is moulded,
It matters not if sides don’t square together.
It matters only that angles, when unfolded,
Are enough for U-Turn in Brexit’s hated tether.
So flourish your protractor, be obtuse,
And put Pythagoras to really useful use.

Triangulation

love lies on the side hypotenuse
from where that right angle is
often love's functions seem abstruse
lost at ocean's bottom with Atlantis

yet complementary, our numbers add up
by degrees are ninety, true and square
feelings pour right to the loving cup
opposites and adjacents uncommonly rare

looking at all the angles to triangulate
and compute toward infinity's revered
will the points be cartesian for this mate
do measured dimensions seem a bit weird

what of the other points on the line
of our lives, that we traverse insistently
do they see us as converging just fine
heartfully crossing space with felicity

cons and pros measured on protractor
terms balancing both sides of the equal
trying not to drop any important factors
will it be originally good as the sequel

the mosaics of the world pieced together
to form colorfully muted sharper vision
complacent or attentive to futures whatever
it'll be angled and trigged with precision

Premium MemberMy Sudoku Life

And I walk
across numerical figments
speaking hyperbole dialect to their imaginations.

Numb, blocky gaps
whisper invitation to secret club.

Enticing my stature
to belong
to become exponent’s side-kick.

So they can welcome me with open arms.

Coating my digits with inoperable tumors
double-knotted in hot pink laced bow
and baby-breath scent.

They even left a Walmart Rollback smiley face sticker
with crack residue on right cheek
and a comic-style bubble caption, “welcome home puppet”.

Yes!

This is exactly how Mother 1 told me it would be.

Kinda like marriage,
but less detail-oriented.

But, I could never fit in.

For I am neither positive
nor negative
about their (cult) ural ways.

Timing would always be off.

An arm from the clock that suffered a stroke at Midnight…

They’d never understand,
how they’d alter this unevenly, odd numerical figment.

For they’ll just calculate,
deduce,
my sum with rusty protractor.

This Zero, into a fraction...

Slovak Widow On 59th Street

Slovak Widow On 59th Street

		Chicago, South Side

She’s 84
and when she stands,
everybody hears the chiropractic crack

of eon bones
and everybody tries so hard
not to look

that half second when
the chamois’s taut
across protractor features.

Here's the Pitch...

Announcer: " Now he wipes the sweat from his brow,
for it has all come down to now!"

Will the catcher put down the one?
A blazing fastball to defy Newton
and ascend like an aspirin in flight?

Will the catcher put down the two?
A rainbow curve ball to snap across
like a bleached protractor on a breeze?

Will the catcher put down the three?
and invoke the cunning of Bugs Bunny
as its' seams sputter and stall in mid-flight?

Announcer: " He shakes his head once.
He will be hero and dunce.
He rocks back, compact and low
and now he uncurls, and lets it... Go!"

X Factor

" X " Factor

If " X" is a Factor
Bring me my protractor
and ill work on a equation
For every occasion
So you stand out from the crowd
Your uncontrollably loud
and the camera's they'll love you
Your parent's proud of you
But enjoy the bright lights
because your public are fickle
Sell you out for a nickle
And the equations a year
the span of a career
when you put X in the Factor
because your merely an actor
The star is " X " Factor
