Here's the Pitch...

Announcer: " Now he wipes the sweat from his brow,
for it has all come down to now!"

Will the catcher put down the one?
A blazing fastball to defy Newton
and ascend like an aspirin in flight?

Will the catcher put down the two?
A rainbow curve ball to snap across
like a bleached protractor on a breeze?

Will the catcher put down the three?
and invoke the cunning of Bugs Bunny
as its' seams sputter and stall in mid-flight?

Announcer: " He shakes his head once.
He will be hero and dunce.
He rocks back, compact and low
and now he uncurls, and lets it... Go!"

What a fun poem. Just in time for baseball season--and a flair of creativity to enjoy. We're so excited about the Twins this season, hoping they will get to the playoffs again. Keep your creative pen flowing. Thank you for your kind comment. Karen
