Son, Our Love Is Infinity Deep And Eternally True

Gibraltar is a mere pebble compared to our love for you
My dearest son, your handsome face, pretty eyes we see
We think of your better welfare in all these things we do
And we pray Heaven's truest blessings upon you and me
As a baby mom and we gave our love, spoon fed to you
And around the clock we both saw to your every need
We bought you all playthings and dearest toys brand new
Watched you in your slumber, prayed you never chase greed.

Pray we in your future, you find happiness and true love
A wife beautiful and very deeply in love with you
For we know this dark world exists with its push and shove
Son, our love is infinity deep and eternally true!

May our Lord's blessings follow you all of your live long days
And we be here to help you when we are both old and gray.

Robert J. Lindley, Sonnet

Note: Gibraltar is a monolithic promontory.

Note-
Composed and Dedicated to our beloved son Justin Ryan-Tapican Lindley.
Note: I am sure that your beloved mother, Clarisa Tapican Lindley is watching over you from Heaven and praying blessings be upon you.

Observing a Cliche From a Rocky Promontory

Above the heat
the sky is flecked with ice.

The sun is no longer burning,
it’s a ghost lamp swept by the rags
of a coat-tailing wind.

There it is - arriving out of a hazy distance
a living cliché, a Bald Eagle
It must have caught a thermal.

I think of all the medallions and coins
it has been stamped and embossed upon;
here it is
an existential exclamation mark.

The eagle veers away
turning deeper into the ice-blue.

No one witnesses this,
even my eyes watch cynically,

the jaded disappointment of this sadness
is darkening my sight.

All hail to the he American eagle -
slowly disappearing.

Premium MemberDo Not Delay Your Hug

Morning aloneness.
Dawn imparts prized magic.
Next, the star blinks and vanishes.
The Moon and Sun share the same sky.
Autumn trees reveal their souls.
was interred under a leafy canopy.
Hazy memories of the past persist.
Striking was impossible, yet I bore it.
within a person’s heart.

The mind reflects a rocky promontory.
where spaces collided within the body,
Pulling their last breath, they expired
They acquire permission to fly.
The body, mind, and soul are all bound.
a while ago I grasped this.
The world has got its last odds of fading.

Pedestals are left above the hazes.
A cold bite encounters snow and frost.
Yet, I am jumping out of this plane.
for I, who soared to towering heights
Will I deliver you back to Earth?
Kisses melt snow and frost.
Lever your heart for love and empathy.

The night was too long for reflection.
There was no rushing of the promontory.
Bird-like arms were widespread.
giving in to the wind's whims,
Counting shadows alone.
The insanity of a disturbed mind.

Yet, how would I accurately portray you?
You are flawless, but my writing is not.

Insanity is draining my brain
every time we have a conversation
I really get the sense of everything is torpid
They laced your thoughts with elegance
and no offense taken, it was reassuring.

Premium MemberA Promontory Illusion

The dream: I stroll my house to a promontory
I stare out of the limitless, restless ocean
stepping ahead, dived into the ravenous water
something white was on the beach today
I dug up many bones entrenched in the sand.

Whispers became harsher
to sever and wreck their nasty spirits
as he greeted his eternal partners
there was a swarm of slain people
they shut an ailing slayer in the vortex of hate.

It barely vanquishes my quenchless spirit of inquiry.
To what exactly reason have I sledded so wildly?
Boasters and swindlers sprang up a treaty vigorously.
People are queuing to sway slated on a promontory.

It's plodding to incite thugs by misleading people.
Your genuine assertion is both witless and guileful.
By discerning purport, you may be pioneering.
As though a doleful mistrust was typically unfurling.

Why is it crucial to recur an idyllic shade?
It's time to hoard the dart and glittering blade.
Valorous braves are slogging toward the staid.
Everlasting zest is not a squib and never fades.

Yet we must swither in waging truth and moral virtue.
Truth and equity can't alter insight on specific bestow.

Premium MemberGlory of the Word - John 1:14

I’m in a rank and sullen mood.
I’m sick and tired of getting screwed.
I mean to revel in the glory of the Word.
I’ll sail a raft of good intentions
‘cross an ocean vast as hell
So I can revel in the glory of the Word.

I mean to revel in the glory
as I advertise my story,
Every paragraph and sentence will be heard.
Tell all wicked unbelievers,
and those strays with cat scratch fevers,
We shall revel in the glory of the Word.

It’s like a dog day afternoon.
It’s like a picnic on the moon
When we don’t revel in the glory of the Word.
It pumps the heart of a thesaurus.
It rocks a dictionary’s soul.
We’re meant to revel in the glory of the Word.

We’re gonna revel in the glory
as we climb that promontory
Where our vision of redemption isn’t blurred
By the demagogues who blind us
to the primacy of kindness
When we revel in the glory of the Word.

Observing a Cliche From a Rocky Promontory

Above the heat
the sky is cooling, it’s blue is flecked with ice,
its ghost-written lamp
swept by the upended rags of
a coat-tailing winds

It is a fact
that standing on a high ledge sky-watching the distance
is quintessentially majestic
whether you are a Hitler or a Gandhi
it is its own poetry,
I would strike a heroic pose,
but assume no one else is watching.

There it is - arriving out of a far place,
a living cliché.
The Bald Eagle is high for a natural born scavenger,
soaring above this place where no rabbit runs to hide.
It must have caught a thermal,
let the sky fly it up here.

This whole scene is symbolic.
I look behind me, still no one else here.
It comes nearer,
I think of all the jaded medallions it has been
stamped and embossed upon,
yet here it is
just an existential exclamation point in time,
as I am.

For a moment I am clothed in a noble grandeur
then in a bitter blink
splattered by a smearing of unspeakable crimes.

The eagle veers away
turning deeper into the ice-blue
perhaps it was alarmed or dismayed
by this self-regarding figure
posturing for posterity
upon a highly shaky prospect?

A Poem I Had Imagined

I walked unhurriendly on a desolate beach
where the crystalline sand was ash white,
and barefoot I avoided broken seashells;
the April breeze wasn't tiepid but cool.

I looked much farther than I could see,
but the broken clouds of gray and purple
didn't hide the grin of the melancholic moon
that dispised the dulliness of the horizon.

Calmness was felt inside and out,
weary seagulls decided to take a rest,
the novice painter left the promontory;
solitude immersed hearts into sadness.

The darker it got, the duller thoughts became;
stunning images surrendered to the bleak dusk,
I picked up my fishing cane and left with hesitation,
and returning tomorrow, wouldn't I have felt the same?

While going back I spotted someone writing on the bench,
his thoughts were fixed on the crepuscular shadows
that swiftly transformed the lively images I saw before,
and I sensed he was writing a poem I had imagined.

Ancient detour
Route to nowhere;
Stray moments meet

~~~~~~~~~
Inward journey
Mind seeks heart;
Soul matters most
~~~~~~~~~

Blue moon arcs
Misty mystic mood;
Stillness blooms

~~~~~~~~~
Touch of sad feel
Emotions linger;
Loss entangles
~~~~~~~~~

In your eyes
Truth is telling;
Charming gaze

~~~~~~~~~
Dusk comes now
Abrupt sweep;
Attires dark sky
~~~~~~~~~

Stray purple hues
Floral exclamations;
Garden gate creepers

~~~~~~~~~
Family gathering
Cheery promontory;
Celebrate good cheer
~~~~~~~~~

Beauty greets grace
Touch of fond face;
Time allures space

Towering revelations center of it's eye;
Amber bright white yellow beams of light shines;
And it's morning just dawn;

Waves of the sea horizontal;
As the sky meets water;
Wind kisses it breeze;
Somberly clouds look down;

As the beacon sounds;
As the skies, ground, sea, meets;
Brilliant light beams shines strong and bright;
Show the wayward ships the way;

Towering height and distance, from focal plane;
Light stands on promontory;
Horizon lines natural elevation inventory;
Rocky spikes that juts out into the seas;
Lighthouse a safeguard to those on waters need  to see;
Ship on waters sail;

Emery

Emery

Emery had a nose of stone,
An outgrowth of his weighted mind.
Of alabaster was it honed
Into a feature aquiline.
Its heft was such that Emery
Would counterbalance with his jaw
By upward thrust of chin; thus he
Intended to reduce this flaw.
But, oh, his lips contorted and
His limited perception showed
Only a level, skyward span
And never anything below.
Many men were victimized
And many things they valued, too,
Because poor Emery was blind
To that which was not in his view.
The morning of one winter’s day
He walked a promontory ridge.
Poor Emery saw not the way
But fell. It was the last of him.

If You Listen
All Will Be Silent
The Apocryphal Dance
begins at Midnight
and becomes a Night Song
But/If You Go There
take Money
Time Eats Your Words
and you’ll Leave Something Unfinished
Finitude ends by The Mill
at the End of The Road
and the Descent
ends as a Shadow
Between Us
in the Still Moment
Adrift In a Dream

Take This
instead of a Bottle of Wine
to the Tag Sale
at the foot
of the Taconic Hills
overlooking the Promontory
by Long Pond
Where I’d Rather Be
Teasing the Line
while a Red Umbrella
 makes an Impression
on the Lambent Sheen
suspended on Breath

Time Makes No Difference
and If You Go There
in Aura of First Light
Take the Long Way Back
where a Bloom Buds
On Edge
Before Time Becomes Light

Premium MemberWaves

Two young friends sit on a promontory
     overlooking the windswept
sea as a lonely lighthouse studies their
      actions unnoticed.
They converse excitedly about the gift
     of a crimson parasol
from a handsome new lad at school.
      Their hearts soar as they
dream wild romantic thoughts as the
       sound of the waves enchant.

There's something wild about
      being near the waves…
Hearing their last hurrah as they
      hit the sandy shore.
Bursting bubbles of white
      foam on wet sand,
The only evidence of their
      brief existence, save the
Sea salt scent wafting in
      the wild wayward wind.

Then there is the chameleon
      colors mesmerizing eyes
As the sun and clouds play
      with light 'til day is done,
And the orange orb slowly sinks
      below the sea's horizon
Sharing a romantic kiss goodbye
      with the twilight sky.

Begin your Diamond Head hike in the early hours of morning as it
Requires two full hours to climb to the top at an
Elevation of seven hundred sixty two feet from sea level.
After reaching the top of Diamond Head Crater,
That was formed by a volcanic explosion 200,000 years ago,
Honolulu and Waikiki are the breathtaking views from
The top of the crater, spreading out from the Ko'olaus to the sea.
Allow yourself enough time to capture panoramic pictures as
Keepsakes of your climb and bask in the beauty surrounding
Impressive famous landmarks from the Manoa Valley to the
Natural harbour featuring the Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor.
Gorgeous amazing views greet the eyes in every direction.

*Ko'olau Mountain Range

Diamond Head Hike:

Diamond Head is the name of a volcanic tuff cone on the Hawaiian island of O'ahu and known to Hawaiians as Le'ahi, most likely from lae 'browridge, promontory' plus ahi 'tuna' because the shape of the ridgeline resembles the shape of a tuna's dorsal fin. Its English name was given by British sailors in the 19th century, who mistook calcite crystals on the adjacent beach for diamonds.
