What pleased Pearle about Larry
His chest was not overly hairy
And when he stood up straight
He was nearly five foot eight
Then there were his table manners
Not bad for the son of a tanner
I've neglected his unpimpled face
(Perhaps ‘cos he had moles in their place)
But Larry’s sine qua non, to which she eagerly agreed
He always spelled Pearle’s name with two ‘e’s’
So, they lived happy lives together, the perfect couple
75 years of wedded bliss ~ no need for a prenuptial
marriage

We are love-tied doves
immaculately clad in white
toward our flight as a couple to witness
altar date, sealed with “till death do us part.”
While flying, our feathers radiate blest serenity
showcasing azure sky that has conquered gray clouds
vivified by rainbow colors accentuated by golden beams
midst kaleidoscopic hues of scarlet, blended with orange-crimson blast.
With gratitude to the heavenly Creator
our tweets of praise* join cyan firmament
ablaze with flaxen yellow along green freshness
conquering indigo tints against fading violet and lavender gleam.
Wishing wellness for all in glowing daylight
praying for sunny mood even beyond pink of health
on we settle to behold wedding, defying challenges’ blues
at the Palace in the Sky**, adorned with roses in vibrant colors.
*Psalm 150:6 Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.

an emotional
prenuptial agreement
was entered into by
two hearts long ago
one were the party's
involved would forfeit
all guardianship of the
spot held within the others
heart when an emotional
split occurred between the
two souls
Neutrality in your colour seduces me and overwhelms my pride.
Originality in your words attracts me and drives my senses to you.
Prenuptial agreement, I must sign, without delay.
Quest no more! You are my type of girl.
You are with no doubt the woman of my heart
Thou that holds a special beauty my lady, love of my life
Thou art special pearl, my girl, not a lady of carnal world,
Love, my life, my pearl of great price! You I shall not sacrifice!
You light up as wife, candle of life, set lonely heart a twirl…
Come unto me my beauty sweet, lay thy breast upon my chest,
Romance as love ‘s song, though time has worn on, our love remains strong,
Given divine chance by first kiss, sweet romance, I reminisce,
Sweetness drops of your honeycomb lips, causes love’s bliss, prolong
Our chance of romance in the spring, not a common carnal thing,
Sweetness doth confess that our love was bliss from early first kiss,
That Love's graceful pursue, as sock and shoe, was not fleshly fling,
Let us feather together the quest, giving two hearts to bliss…
Two lovers twain in marriage, by depth of a true love’s courage,

PASSION FRUIT
Munching shiny apples in the fruit market
We faced each other without pretending,
Our tablecloth of pure white unmarked
Cotton, and our full cups overflowing.
I was the prettiest in the city, thinking
I am just the woman loved and loving,
For happiness makes any woman a picture.
We are the couple I have always dreamed of,
When they look with tenderness at each other
And shine from the inside because of their love.
One face glows with light from the other
A hand-touch sparks the fervour,
Brightening as entwining fingers
Tighten in anticipating more
Warm-whiteness surge and outpour -
After this fruitful prenuptial supper.
Good-morrow and we wake.
I feel your soul softly shake:
It’s life - the apple of my eye.
It is all my shining world round
Apples fallen from the same tree
We are one soul from one ground.
