Let the decision stand

The sphere of influence is as big as the globe
"To stand by things decided"
We're obligated to follow precedents
What happened before the cold war,
Influences the decisions made in today's courts
Questions and arguments rise for this principle
Yet echoes of the dead say "let justice be served"

"Stare decisis"
Is it up to scratch?
It ensures uniform application of the law
Not like any random inconsistent policy,
The law is as consistent as waves kissing the shore
To let the decision stand is to be class
And class is permanent
It does not consider the environment
Though there is a little space for improvement

Law deals with precedents
Just a different time of incidence
Our lives are guided by how our ancestors were judged
Case law, went through criticism and survived
No one is above the law!
We shall live by it
Stare decisis!!

Premium MemberStory of Light

Agile music pouring out gentle quiet,
Furious sighs breaking through the soft shadows,
Beyond the moon, ebbs a beautiful riot.

Stars glistening, prompting the wind to transpose,
Reverse the dancing laughter, breathless pining,
Aching, trembling, quaking as the music slows.

Autumn’s beguiling, summer is declining,
Whispering kisses over mountain ascents,
Only God Himself could have done this signing.

Author of graceful laughter, warm precedents,
Soulful joys discovered beneath the sunshine,
Rays of glory raining down over contents.

Story of light pierces dark, the bottom line,
Father, Son and Holy Ghost, this light is mine!

Phenomenal Woman

screams and tears on a starry night
a child is born, a woman of light
celebration for she is a blessing
given to the world to teach a lesson
innocent and pure she is
obedience and love she breathes
loved by the almighty himself
from her predecessors the savior himself
Some seek to cast her down
others seek to tear her gown
A garment of pride and confidence
They aim to make her like her precedents
immortal she is not
Sometimes life gets hot
invisibility is not hers
Silence in lots of jars
She sees the time to be seen
and hears the time to be heard
She will not walk by you
without a second glance like the color blue
Her confidence is contagious
It makes some others delirious
She wakes up in the morning
and the devil is mourning
angry at her rise
righteousness, forever in her life
till the day she dies
and leaves this world of lies
seen she shall be
heard she shall be
her life a lesson
Her existence a blessing
phenomenal woman

Incidents With No Precedents

I tag them incidents
With no strict precedents:
A Hater-of-Elephant-Admirer-of-Tusk
A Critic-of-Perfume-User-of-Musk:
An Attacker-of-Night-Walks-Lover-of Dusk
A Consumer of Corn Teaser of Husk
An Enemy of Flour Friend of Rusk …

Also, who nightly tasks handle
But never bothered to near a candle
And A Class of Eaters of Mutton,
For more asking by touching their shirt button.

Brick Walls

Brick Walls

One may present some facts,
completely indisputable.
These are soon dismissed,
as being quite inscrutable.

Presenting flawless logic,
with greatest perspicuity
is immediately rejected
because of ambiguity

One may cite, eternal,
laws and codes and precedents.
"That's as well as may be,
but still it shows no evidence."

There'll be no revelations.
No change of hearts appear.
Debating is a waste of time,
To those who will not hear.

Cautious adjudication, the gravitas of soft-spoken word.
Your legendary legacy, illustrious and exalted.
Advocate for gender justice, legal insights not always heard.
Yet, your jurisprudence was seldom persuasively faulted.

Few men invite state regulation of their sex organs.
Yet, many insist the state can control a woman’s body.
You, the bulwark against unconstitutional legal actions,
against state laws of men, pious and haughty.

Now you have departed, and we gaze upon the cavity.
Now we dread what might be used to fill the void.
The precedents of your life, our guidance against depravity.
Your advocacy for equality must be our natural law employed.

The Cycle

Ignited before your sight, I anticipate
Each moment unplanned, awaited
Memories bound, precedents assure
Conversation considered, spontaneity preferred.
Each breath lost, relieving expectation.

Your efforts are not in vain
Each appreciated by the previous
Happiness distorted by uncertainty
Rife fears, prominent through despondency.
Lay in my arms, let my heart guard yours.

My body reaches to engulf you
Avoidance dismisses to affection's ire
Choices made by one, for two
Frustrations brew until faces overflow.
Pride prevents comfort, love rallies.

Indecision consumes, our motions unconscious
Emotions that were, failing to respawn
Silence understanding, words wary
Forgiveness granted, admission's equivalent.
Rest your head on my chest, again.

Grasps lock, securing home
Blurry eyes, clear for tomorrow
The temporary excused, impulse subdued
A willed stay, reinspiring hope.
Outlast we will, the cycle that has become.

History is what it was
By: Miracle Man
10/9/2018

History is the recording of our past events,
But now there are those with desire to change.
When we allow this we’re setting precedents,
By misrepresenting facts that they rearrange;

We can’t omit things from the printed page,
Just because it was bad or we don’t agree.
It still happened though dissenters disengage,
Some things in history were indeed beastly.

By tearing down statues or changing a name,
Or renaming a holiday doesn’t make us sage.
Filling young minds with falsehoods is the game,
Each time history’s changed on the printed page;

Precedents Were a Coincidence

Precedents Were A Coincidence

So it really could seem to be quite a coincidence,
Relationship between Presidents and precedents;
Ugly Bods,
Are at odds;
Being vehement about constituents and contents.

Premium MemberAssonance

My life is is assonance
No mints or common sense
It's dense without hints
Trapped in tents
Hints dropped like nonsense
Like vowels or consonants
These gents are what prevents
Presidents from dark intents
And events transpire to ignore precedents
Hesitance that invents supplements
For gents and when it finally relents
My life is assonance
Without pretense
It's suspense with self-defense
No offense but I'm feeling intense
My life is lost in assonance
Or maybe I'm just an ass granting pretense

The Crossroads of Life!

The crossroads of life—fate!
And there you wait.
For the sign that presents forth
The goals—that will guide your destiny.
The phrase is synonymous with challenge,
Bold adventure and decision-making
In achieving greatness,
Or to be the best that you are?
And yet, you hesitate.
What will people think?
How will you get ahead?
This response, you believe
To be both rational and precise
Is cowardly.
When opportunity knocks, you procrastinate!
This action deprives your soul of fuel:
By exaggerating fear with excuses,
Thereby avoiding the truth of consequences.
Case law has established precedents.
The name will stand
In the books unembellished, based on facts
Of articulate arguments waged in the courtroom
In the presence of peers!
