I was too young to have opinions,
only irritations.
She had a revolutionary anger
against everything.
I breathed in her perfume,
her alien attraction.
She taught me what to think,
how to politicize angst.
Mostly I remember her little
sixteen-year-old breasts,
so angry, so sweet.
I wish we could both
return now,
to that brief vacation
in genteel Brighton.
To again
rage against the machine,
that has chewed us both up.
When I tell you to build dams over rivers and seas,
To build bridges betwixt beings and make existence ease;
You laugh at me and politicize each one of my fights,
I don't quit; I don't accept failures; I am at my heights;
I am Gandhi, Nehru, Mandela, Luther, Lincoln, oh!
Who, on the paths of Jesus, Allah, and Ram always go..!!!

With a rock Cain slew Able from an evil heart,
fast forward, today, guns are the tools of choice.
If a person is inclined to physical pain impart,
he or she will find a way to silence their voice.
Today’s method is a Gun, but man’s heart the cause,
we politicize each shooting attempting to fix blame.
We search for solutions that might stop or bring pause,
but each day, our children, are facing more of the same.
The answer won’t be found in a legislative solution,
for repairing evil hearts is only God’s domain.
Yet many today suggest changing the constitution,
with a rock the first murder was committed by Cain.
Indignant is our talk, wishy- washy is our walk,
and prayer changes things when to God we talk.
Many times those who squeal the loudest about gun ownership
are those with gated estates and armed security 24/7.

Fight The Good Fight

We politicize everything
That might help make our point.
But if circumstances change
We get our nose out of joint.
It behooves each of us
To always give life our best.
Because our time on earth
Is just a judgment day test.
We all know that cream
Always rises to the top.
That’s where we should be
On the day life will stop.
If we don’t pay attention
To the things that matter.
We’ll rest in the field
Among the tares we helped scatter.
As a vapor, our clock time*
Will quickly be gone.
Only then to be judged
By the seeds we’ve sown.
* James 4:14
says, “Yet you do not know what your life will be like tomorrow. You are just a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away.”
Vehicular bull on a rampage,
plowing into a frightened crowd
Metal horns impale human flesh,
being gored alive is replayed on a loop
Concerned citizens say let’s have
a national discussion ... air their bloodstained social laundry
Opposition says with feigned compassion:
now ain’t the right time, don’t politicize ...
people have just died
Let them first process their pain
Later on down the road,
we’ll reconvene again
Drone heat seeking, random bullets,
angry buzz into a busy, downtown café
Well-armed disciples of collateral death,
planned murder-suicide made operational
Outraged local residents wish to hold
a town hall public forum ... air their shrapnel shredded conscience
Paid lobbyists says with false empathy:
now ain’t the right time, don’t politicize ...
let the community first cry
People need time to cope with grief
Let the calendar turn,
then schedule a serious meet
It ain’t never the right time
to talk about causes of a terrible tragedy
When will it ever be a right time
to talk to each other with candid honesty?
POETRY IS BEAUTY, POETRY IS ART.
IT WAS NOT CREATED, TO BE TORN APART.
I UNDERSTAND MY FRIEND, TO YOU I AM DEFIANT.
JUST BETWEEN YOU AND I, I AM NOT COMPLIANT.
OPEN UP YOUR EARS MY FRIEND, LET THE POETRY RING.
DEFIANT AND COMPLIANT ARE REALLY DIFFERENT THINGS.
DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME MY FRIEND TO POLITICIZE MY POEM.
OPEN UP YOUR MIND AND LET THE IMAGE ROAM.
POETRY IS NEVER RIGHT IT'S ALWAYS NEVER WRONG.
INSIDE YOUR HEAD MY FRIEND IS WHERE YOUR RULES BELONG.
IF IT REALLY IS DISTURBING, I'M CREATING YOU A FEELING.
NOW YOU KNOW WITH WHOM MY FRIEND, YOU ARE REALLY DEALING.
DO YOU WRITE IN CURSIVE? IT'S SOMETHING OF THE PAST.
I READ AND WRITE AND EVERYTHING ALWAYS USING CAPS.
NOW LETS MOVE ALONG MY FRIEND THERE'S NOTHING HERE TO SEE.
UNLESS YOU CLOSE YOUR EYES MY FRIEND AND LET YOUR MIND RUN FREE.
Forcing One’s Religious Beliefs on Others
By Elton Camp
Some think the religion of the majority
Must be, for all, the highest priority
The chance that they would highly rate
Is to do it through the power of the state
To browbeat little children in the school
They would not think to be too cruel
Evangelical “Christians” are the worst
“Nonbelievers” they decree are accursed
“Now, you must do exactly as I say.
For I’ll teach you the right way to pray.”
“To my righteous beliefs you must kowtow
And you are going to do it here and now.”
Yet, Muslims these very ones will criticize
When religious beliefs they do politicize
“Give us religious freedom,” they will cry
But to force their own beliefs they will try
I think one is just as bad as is the other
To try to compel one to become a brother
To attempt to persuade others to one’s view
Is all that’s proper for anyone to try to do
People who their own righteousness proclaim
Are the ones that I find to be particularly lame
For the Supreme Court we should be very glad
They protect our liberty as they repel the bad
There was a man that criticized
And asked the other to ajolipize (incorrect spelling on purpose)
I said you there
Don’t be so square
words are a form to Politicize
