Must we honor the promises we make in dreams?
The same moral aspects would pertain, it seems,
and fate would (if the rules of justice still apply),
a dream's blissful amorous rendezvous, deny.
Must I live my waking life bound by dream pledges?
It's too much to trim Scarlett Johannson's hedges.

Beauty clearly dims, excess fears grow,
Yet your love glows constantly in me.
Its goodness my heart each day will know,
So your tender care becomes my plea.
Life means nothing, only prayer’s quest,
It’s your love that grants life true meaning.
Sadness ebbs swiftly, as hearts attest,
On your sweet love, my soul is leaning.
Read slowly to unwrap very well—
Then you’ll hear love’s true voice speaking loud.
Deep in the heart its pure feelings dwell;
Its diction can even make foes proud.
Just know lovers make new odd pledges,
None too heavy for their souls to keep.
Don’t ever be a doubting Thomas—
Sow love in my heart, and joy you’ll reap.

The Cold Embrace of Death
The hush transports him to another place,
where peace and joy are swallowed by regret.
The sea allures him to his own disgrace,
Akin to earworms feeble to forget
The crashing surf now softly breathes her name,
and speaks of pledges, secrets still untold.
The wind relays his sorrow and his shame,
as old bad dreams before his eyes unfold.
Again, she slowly lets her body fall,
to free her life off fiends that proved too grim.
Each small morose detail he can recall
as hungry waves below try to reach him.
The weeds peep through as tidal waves recede
persuading him to join her and concede.

Is a chance either against fate or destiny,
It often looks like a planned movie that might end in everyone's favor,
The words are beginning to be buried in our heads,
The pledges ain't really made, they are just structures build on maybe,
What if the dreams had, falls on an unfertile soil,
What if all the efforts turns to waste,
What if all the pains endured becomes vain,
What if all the hard works ends up killing,
What if, she left at the edge of misery,
What if she becomes too classic to stay,
What if all her words are just cheap stones,
What if her love fades away,
What if the light refuses to regenerate,
What if the desires are unfulfilled,
What if the man in the future never becomes a reality,
What if the gold never comes,
What if, what if, what if,
The fears are not dying but growing,
The once red flaming faith dies gradually,
The ego of love turns an ego of anxiety and worries,
Oh, the soul seeks solace,
The silent heart, the trust it feels might soon be gone,
The strings in which hope hangs might soon be a nightmare,
Oh, what if all these happens.

HINDSIGHT 20 20
It was Atlanta, and not many years ago
With the world crashing about my ears
Pledges made and encouragement given
Smiles and kisses seemed natural to me
It was only selfishness and a cold heart
That reason would finally tear us apart
Was it just fake and never meant to be
And such little chance of being shriven
The only genuine things left were tears
But it taught me lessons I should know
From then on, I’d be a lion not a lamb
Not letting any hope give way to fear
And resume my once purposeful path
Toward those rewards that can satisfy
Your expectations were way too much
I’d felt like a pet rabbit kept in a hutch
But I never did meekly curl up and die
I was more than a keeper of the hearth
But it’ll not be like that again, my dear
As the script said, I don’t give a damn

It comes out of its chamber,
Summoned by the evening,
It stands on its podium,
A lamp for the night,
It tells us it’s time to retreat,
Rest for a while in the twilight blues,
Let go of the burdens of the day,
Tomorrow’s city doesn’t want to be overburdened.
Sometimes it stands alone,
Sometimes it is surrounded by its compatriots,
Even in the darkest of nights,
It pledges its allegiance to its Creator,
The glory of the night,
It doesn’t fight for its place,
At dawn, it goes back to its chamber,
Thankful for the opportunity to hold sway.

If we stayed young
and didn’t age
would marriage last
to turn the page
Would love endure
and pledges stay
with time becalmed
— and youth sustained

A dispenser of dishonest vice, a peddler of blatant lies,
In his unscrupulous realms, nobility of truth sadly dies,
Where righteous vibes of morality and decency agonize;
Where benevolence cries, pensive in verity’s demise.
Masked in aura of dubious eyes, spurious is his smile,
Hiding deceptions of his charismatic, charlatan style;
Counterfeit is the profile sporting thrill of knavish devise,
Proffering affectionate gile, spinning webs of disguise.
Empowering hypnotism of an alluring, charming face,
Weaving traps of fanciful tales his adventures chase,
Mesmerizing them; seeking the disheartened as prey,
Bestowing faux lexicons of praise, that brazenly betray.
Broken pledges and vows, now bawl from his burial site,
Deep within remorseful soul, churning anguished fright,
Awakening graveyard of victims in nightmarish night,
Burning effigies of dreams destroyed, feelings contrite.
Be on guard for imposters vying lure of sensual glance,
Beware of tenders, beckoning love, enticing romance,
Beware of mountebank, a swindler~ thievery is his art;
Dedicated lifelong, to mission of stealing innocent heart.

A wounded sigh, an expression evincing the pain of hurt,
A bawl in solitude, turbulence of inner emptiness stirs,
When emotions clamor, simmering in angst of regrets,
When mute demeanor, of injured breath, wistfully frets.
Soul desperately aches for a special someone to talk to,
Someone who understands the language of quietude,
Someone who can soothe the trauma, of life gone askew,
Someone who brings to fore, hope of tomorrow anew.
Laments of past echo, moaning upon meadows of life,
Reverberating in heartbreak of grief, bereft of promise,
To rehabilitate devastation of savage emotional storms,
As covenants, deemed eternal, hesitate in broken vows.
Wounded hearts now trace moments of love, sadly lost,
When loneliness dwells in nightmares of past forlorn,
When the abandoned pledges of forever, callously mock,
As muffled wail recalls, life of joy and love, that once was.
Sorrows now seek solace, yearning compassionate voice
To soothe tides of heartbreak, agitating lonesome mind,
As hopes of morrow rekindle in womb of promising night,
When smile-endearing, subjugates cry of wounded sigh.

"Google a guy's history if you are interested in him. If he has not stayed in one place very long at any one time, you can be sure he won't stay with YOU."
quote by poet
Beware the rambling lad you meet one day
who comes into your town and turns your head.
He’s just a naughty boy who wants to play,
but never will he settle down to wed.
He’ll croon to you a lovely serenade
beneath your window, playing his guitar.
Too late you’ll learn it’s YOU that has been played
when on your heart there will be left a scar.
It’s wanderlust that he is all about
plus lusting after girls who just like you
fall prey to thinking that he is devout
because he pledges love, his love’s not true.
They say that those who ramble have no goal,
but this lad plays a lady-killer’s role.

a thousand colours above my head
pale and flaky
am i a guest?
i asked for a full moon
my pledges unheeded
o my god what am i to be
guster of leaves
a little light filtering
they sound bland to me
cold oars shake a moment,
the spirit of blackness is in us
life is a valedictory meanness
a thousand voices peer their rectitude

Each December I begin to write down,
my yearly New Years pledge;
each year that list seems to have grown,
oh, its very windy on this high ledge !
For I know all the pledges will not work,
just like they failed before;
I swear, I write them from my heart,
why not just get the old list from the drawer !
So this time I am writing just for fun-
will not use a bank ATM;
one day I tried five- for a $40 sum,
it left me in a breakdown of mayhem !
Will not buy from Facebook's Market Place,
saw an item wanted;
I must pick up- what a wild chase,
at last found it but the house looked haunted !
Will not eat pizza, cheese, peanut butter,
'cause this stuff makes me sick;
feeling like I ate a crater ...
I know that these simple pledges will stick !

Red moon rising, a globe ruby, an opulent theme,
A scarlet smile, a sight tranquil, a heavenly dream,
Weaves fabric of passions deep, as desires gleam,
Notions-romantic, undulating joy on stellar stream.
Hues iridescent paint a canvas of chromatic skies
Luring gazes, inflaming fervor of enamored eyes,
Glued to vision, intimate pleas of hearts surmise,
Inscribing crimson, where motifs moonstruck rise.
Embracing red moon, heartbeats rhapsodic tiptoe,
Caressing adoration of emotive eventide aglow,
Where, breezing affection, zephyrs amatory blow,
Whispering sweet-nothings, secrets fervent bestow.
As rhythms of our heart, lyrics of our soul rhyme,
Avowing pledges revered, through the song of time,
Reciting words divine, replaying promises sublime,
Under the red moon, we laud, bliss of love in prime.
Across celestial beauty, as impulses-angelic scroll,
Hypnotizing minds, captivating essence of soul,
A red moon tantalizing, O, sensuously we extol,
Weaving fabric of passions fantasies moonlit cajole.

“The silent song of the sighing breeze,”
In leafless demeanor of shuddering trees,
Whispered cries of a dismantled dream
Augmenting dissonance of broken theme,
A theme composed in the promise of yore
Avowing endearing passions evermore,
Of love eternal, enamoring core of soul,
Till its amorous glory, fate savagely stole.
Though zephyrs forlorn, still cruelly blow,
Wailing lovelorn woe of forgotten throe,
Despair is vanquished from song of sorrow,
For hymns of bliss sing of hopeful morro.
Pledges of today, foretell future of ardour,
Vying dreamscapes, musings-ecstatic adore,
Buoying tides of love to tomorrow’s shore,
Abandoning yesteryears memories abhor;
Of pensive sighs, spent-emotions decry,
Of dejection lamenting love gone awry,
Of nightmares trembling sleepless night,
Of allegories wistful, destiny’s hands write.
“The silent song of the sighing breeze,”
Now sings of love, from flowering trees,
Whispering melodies to a dulcet dream
Augmenting allure of lovesome theme.

In my old room,
thinking my old thoughts
that were young once.
When I drowned in the flood
of future possibilities,
and knew I couldn't drink of them all,
but by God I'd throw back all that I could.
And I had more time,
and confidence,
and energy;
fewer failures to dampen my ambitious pride.
And to be sure, there was a pearl of goodness there,
a seed of iron-willed endurance
stoked by the fires of a starving ego.
I knew I was probably intrinsically less intelligent than many -
but I was a dog biting down on a bone.
They'd have to prove it!
What do I regret? Not much ... though I worry.
For I always wished to be cautious with my promises.
But oh how it stings, making easy pledges at the zenith of one's strength,
only to find oneself too weak to keep them.
