Premium MemberThe Bees Are Hooked

The bees are hooked
Played by the scented temptation
The beauty of the escape
Into the fullness
Of a pollinated peace

Short lived this ecstasy
This joyous satiation
Driven by intoxications
Irreversible need
For more of what caused it

Sunrise, the opening flower
Aglow in a distant phantasy
Brushing away the fog
Rekindling an un-stoked fire
An ember craving ignition

Slowly they will emerge
Leave their hidden hives
Seek out the fluorescent petals
Of that ever illusive
Pollinated peace

Premium MemberShe Dances With Spirits

The wind brushes her red mane wild and untamed, lifting her gown
A trance sweeps and sways her figure while bright orbs surround her
Transported to other realms where forestry scenes blend far away
A wistful lean body revealed thru a sheer dress, she is lifted into thin air
As she twirls around to celestial sounds, with spirits she dances free
In this pipe dream phantasy I imagined it were me, on this blissful day

Nature Wonders

I stand in awe as nature wonders
Of raucous waves and roiling thunders
Rushing streams released as winter thaws
As nature wonders I stand in awe.

Spring awakens, her heartbeat quickens
A pulse of sap through bare boughs thickens
Fields of daffodils reawaken
Her heartbeat quickens, spring awakens.

Summer tangos in a seashore dance
Beneath clear skies of azure romance
Neon sunsets in shades of mango
In a seashore dance summer tangos.

Fall swirls in orange red fantasies
Enchanting dances of phantasy
Mischievous breezes spin into whirls
In orange red fantasies fall swirls.

Winter dreams of seeds in gestation
In the sweet hush of hibernation,
Silent cadence in snowy extremes,
Of seeds in gestation winter dreams.

Xanadu?
Wishful thinking?
Are you
an illusion?
Castle in the air
phantasy?
Tell me
if there are
answers
to my dream-
that this world
will soon recover-
be normal once again

Premium MemberA Beautiful Day

The beautiful day has yet agreed,
It sits well preserved, being undisturbed
It takes a look at the world, its seed
Then offers it a delicate curb

Waits for the opportune phantasy
To magically manifest itself
Pleasure beyond measure apogee
Make sure there's more esteem for myself

The Beautiful Day, --me being happy!

Moon Rakers

MOON RAKERS

The old tale goes in Wiltshire when
They wisely played the parts of fools
In deception of the Revenue men
Employed dumb faces and farming tools

The Brandy kegs you see were hid
In village pond sunk out of sight
While making retrieval from its mid
The Constables arrived in the night

These Wiltshire lads donned idiot leer
And played the role of dunce or loon
Then pointing at lake mirror clear
Averred ‘Were raking for the moon!’

An alternate allegory I perceive
The Moon and stars in water bright
May be the dreams we strive to achieve
Deceiving ourselves? or clearing sight

While others might see us as dreamers and fools
Could we maybe in spirit commune
Take up our metaphysical tools
Delve phantasy deep; rake for the moon

Second Conditional

Grammar Series
SECOND CONDITIONAL

If I were a gambling man as my sin;
(I confess an occasional flutter)
Then if I had an acceptable win,
I would buy myself some new schmutter *

Note: it would make my verse more refined
If instead of "if I..." I wrote "we're I" and "had I"
Then perhaps The Immortal Bard would not mind
And Jane Austin would give me the glad eye

While I may forgive modern language’s slur
Wanting that which is sadly defunct, if
We avoid "if I was", rather say: "if I were"
Mindful that we are using subjunctive

Now the First Conditional suits admonishment
By uncles from Amsterdam, Delft or Utrecht **
While the Third is rueful and penitent
For sins of commission or those of neglect

But the Second tops my panoply
And it always has me beguiled
Inspiring creativity, phantasy
And imagination run wild

E.G.

Had I the combined wit of Wodehouse, and Wilde
I would put my pen to write such a tale
That would make the face of God crack a smile
And the heavens to burst in a giggling gale

In Your Dream

At night, you'd lay down and dream
The days of our life
When I come around, please don't scream
It cut through like a knife

Swiftly, as the sea wind, it went down
Would you blame it on God?
If am not seen another dawn
To share with you my cod

Before your phantasy runs wild
Remember, I'll always love you
In your dream, I'd be mild
To make that beautiful body coo.

Phantasy

Strange creatures in the night descend
Waiting for death, in winged flight.
   With banshees wailing, Fates portend
   Another star will shine tonight.

   Dark forces now by sorcery
Decieve, and try to steal a soul.
   Eternal flames of misery
   Shrouding death, by hyperbole.

   Starlight shines bright, clouds disappear.
   Amazing Graces gently pray
Life after death, we should not fear.
The hand of reason shows the way.

Her finger points towards the sky.
The firmament shakes one star free.
Then guiding death, on wings they fly.
   To live again, eternally.
