Nature Wonders

Nature Wonders I stand in awe as nature wonders Of raucous waves and roiling thunders Rushing streams released as winter thaws As nature wonders I stand in awe. Spring awakens, her heartbeat quickens A pulse of sap through bare boughs thickens Fields of daffodils reawaken Her heartbeat quickens, spring awakens. Summer tangos in a seashore dance Beneath clear skies of azure romance Neon sunsets in shades of mango In a seashore dance summer tangos. Fall swirls in orange red fantasies Enchanting dances of phantasy Mischievous breezes spin into whirls In orange red fantasies fall swirls. Hi Andrea! Much gratitude for your wonderful feedback. I am grateful! Even though this didn't place it is still one of my favorites. Nature puts on a magnificent show in every season full of wonder and delight. The first time I saw the Wasatch mountains it was in fall. It was a sight I will never forget. This is truly wonderful poetry, Sam, each season passes one's eye as words of rhyme weave along each and every stanza, painting pictures in one's mind, being there amongst this beautiful array of mindset colour. Harry

Harry, I am deeply honored by your feedback and so thankful for your words of compliment! This poetic form of a swap quatrain was a challenge. But, in the end, it just seemed the perfect vehicle for a journey through the vibrant blessings of each season - like Vivaldi's Four Seasons that kept coming to mind as I worked on this poem. Hi Valsa! Heartfelt gratitude coming your way sweet friend. It took me quite awhile to get into this form and to decide on a theme but, in the end, the seasons seemed to be a perfect framework for this poetic form. I, too, love the winter stanza like winter becomes the guardian of spring pregnant with new life nurturing the seeds. Take good care my friend. Blessings for each season to you!

It took me awhile to decide on a theme for this poem and a little bit longer to get into the rhythm of this form. Once those decisions had been made things seemed to flow.
