Personal Appeal Poems | Examples

I Believe in God

I believe it is wrong to compromise,
but like Thomas both faith and doubt I reveal.
Some believe prestige is more often just disguise,
The want of fame may be their Achilles' heel.

I know passion served to stir Saul’s blinded eyes
he fought acknowledging Jesus as real.
There are some covetous of a Nobel peace prize
their great strength being personal appeal.

It’s true that our heroes can meet their demise;
We make mistakes, it's God who shapes our steel.
It’s true, it’s His light that blazes past our lies;
His peace can bless our path with godly zeal.

local cab driver big deal

lacking personal appeal

drives into a lake

procures a fish cake

then bumps an electric eel.

I find it bemusing;
The sentiments some are choosing;
The language they are using;

When communicating their dissatisfaction,
With opposing political factions,
Whose personal appeal they find lacking.

So, I ask this my friends!
Examine what you say and pen.

Would you like this said of you?
Does it matter YOU believe it’s due?
Others may think you’re the back end of a mule.
I guess the question we all might use;
Does it fulfill the Golden Rule?

Isn'T It Poetic

Its meter and rhyme, delicate and sublime,
 fantasy surreal, personal appeal;
a couplet, quatrain or quintain, try them all in time
 but gather close to your heart
 the best way your words depart;
what could be bio, ballad, sonnet best
 as we each submit ourselves to every test
 the most familiar and loved burlesque display
 it's blank, it's haiku monoku, carpe diem in retrograde;
but it is fulfilling my personal thirst
 in dramatic monologue blitz free verse.

My Solemn Cry !

MY SOLEMN CRY !

the crown is moving away, leaving me
the clouds of hopes fast vanishing
my mill of motives grinding to a halt
and my sap of potentials clogging
never to flow for me to live

seven years ago, I started to crawl
to catch my dream in the sky
in the offertories of Writers Bureau School
But still I am that toddler, stunted
I wish to grow by your fingers of benevolence

Dip unto my tongue, once
for the miracle to happen
so I can praise you as GOD of my salvation
Only this I crave
To be in Writers Bureau School.

Note:
this is my personal appeal for my dream to come true to be a freelance journalist. Your
help is highly reverend. Thanks. lampz.kay@gmail.com

Premium Member "castle"

My favourite type of books are mysteries,
Not romance, comedy or biographical histories.
So when Rick Castle on my t.v. first appeared
His character to me was already endeared.

I am fixated with his personal appeal.
He is just drop-dead sexy and I truly feel
That Beckett is an idiot if she cannot see
That a perfect match for her he would be.

So faithfully each Monday night I tune in
To see if Beckett's heart he's managed to win,
And if by the end of the season she will realize
The affection for her that I see in his eyes.

The mysteries they solve together each and every week,
Interesting as they are, still aren't the shows peak.
For the peak is the chemistry between this pair
And I truly hope "Castle" will remain long on the air.
