Ethereal Lanterns

A season of reflection,
We set ourselves apart,
We lay our hearts on the altar of meditation,
We alight from dawn’s cart.

We hold the lamp into the night,
We search the hidden places of our chamber,
We sojourn into the light,
Awakened from our souls’ slumber.

A season of rebirth,
There’s an overhauling from the inside,
We draw out from the wells of mirth,
It’s evident on the outside.

We’re remoulded as we seek the Divine,
We’re in tune with nature,
We’re joined to the pristine vine,
This behooves a sturdy stature.

Awful avocados always
Breathe bitter blue breaths
Craving cardinal’s Christmas carols
Ditching deliberate dungarees during
Elusive extraterrestrial escapades.
Forsaking fitful Floridian flamingos,
Getting gaudy, gratuitous gnarly gifts,
Herewith having hilarious hefty hallucinations,
Imagining India’s illustrious indigo ideologies.
Jackals jerry-rigging jealous junking jackalopes
Kangaroos kissing kindly,
Lamenting lovebirds likely leering
Meandering muddobbers making merry,
Nevertheless necessary negotiations
Ostentatiously overhauling orange ostriches
Private parties practically prancing,
Quiet questions quickly questioning
Ripe red russets revolving rapidly
Sensing secretive shadows shyly
Traveling through trickier times,
Underlings ultimately understanding
Variegated virgins vitality
Waxing willfulness whilst
‘xacting ‘xtra ‘xciting
Yarned yellow youthfulness yipping young
Zesty zipper zings zealously, zapping zebras.

Ashamed

Imprisoned within an anarchical circle,
In a misery of annoyance and mortification,
The blood in my eyes drops as my pen bleeds,
Almost indulging me in pleasing discursiveness.
Yet, a tangle of beautiful words uglily written.

A veritable spring-cleaning of the soul and environment I yearn,
It seemed intolerably tragic to behold,
Especially this day the decay in civility smells like a rotten egg,
Portraying a torture of the mind and sight in most exquisite kind,
Leaving me so ashamed.

Appalled in speechless disgust,
As if smitten by a sudden spasm,
A new trouble dawned on my thickening mental horizon,
Like a piteous aspect of woe,
But a true similitude of what befalls many men and women in this society.

The tumultuous rush of sensations in me is endless,
Tearing me apart like a twinge of embarrassment,
A vague and wistful melancholy yet to be known by all,
I pray for a total overhauling of religions and politics in the Giant of Africa,
Because I’m so ashamed…

Downhill Sledding and Skiing

Downhill Skiing and Sledding

He had always found Hillary hard to face
Which is why Bernie runs all over the place
And he really never got to know her
Started sinking to depths that are lower.

Worse things ever he often had applied
Saying how Hillary was not qualified
She started crying and is now bawling
Bernie's platform needs some overhauling.

What to me I find to be the most amusing
Numbers he mishandles and is misusing
Started realizing he was not in the know
Saying forty score and seven years ago.

After read threw some history pages
That would have put us in the Dark Ages
He seems to be in and also way out far
And to his enlistment received a bar.

He never had passed the bar before
Hasn't figured out how to keep score
Can't downhill ski but is only sledding
Which is where he is always heading.

Premium MemberMan From Nazareth

Andrew ran to Simon, Philip called his friend,
“Come and see the Holy One whose kingdom will not end.”

Brothers, James and John, sons of Zebedee,
overhauling fishing nets by the sea of Galilee.

See the man from Nazareth walk by the sea,
calling men to follow Him in a place called Galilee.

See how He beckons, calling you and me -
calling us to follow Him to a place in eternity.

Go and tell your neighbor the Savior has come.
point him now to Jesus before his day is done.

Tell how He saved you, made your life brand new.
point him now to Jesus before this day is through.

See the man from Nazareth walk by the sea,
calling men to follow Him in a place called Galilee.

See how He beckons, calling you and me -
calling us to follow Him to a place in eternity.

Premium MemberThe Hearts of America

This is not a mission.
This is the bloodletting goal.
This is the heart that beats not because it asks you for permission
Or because it was a pre-meditated thought of your own survival.
We are florid, hungry animals even behind our desk,
Behind a sigh,
Behind low-paying rent and lonely
Drags to the Laundromat.
We are always open to Total Wisdom and plain heart,
Even in our most cornered minds
And gunked-up thoughts,

Even when we see the rivers of good and evil
Wash into each other from brackish shore to brackish shore
Overhauling the confusion with our mind and heart’s turmoil
And plea for sense and reason.

I am alive and well, now. And maybe so are you. And together we can make a difference.
This is a message to the Hearts of America.

The Black Valise

Directions to envision a lost trail of agony
Reveals passage to a black bag tautly held for many years
While overhauling contents of a violent imagery
I thrust forward to the pathway of rudimentary repair
To weaken the hold and ease the grips of anguish and despair
Thoughts are pulling me,pushing me toward perception more each day
Torn apart by recognition as it was consciously turned away
Broken of hand it plummets, while insulting the earth below
Thousands of tears race from the bag as I nurture my scorned ego
A gush of emotion slashes the soil in a torrent, bitter rain
While viciously spouting a pool of frustration
Then is snatched up by the dirt again
In contempt of the ailing turmoil that stifled many a goal
The soil sucks it down, further down, then swallows it in whole
The satchel of stressful burden once over-stuffed by me
Descends to fill on devil’s rations where it packs up easily
Fate of torments asunder, I had to let go
To cradle awareness and potentially grow
Advanced from suppression, unwilling to stumble
Into the black clutch of madness where healthy minds crumble
