Bugs Bunny

Bugs Bunny loves his carrot treat—
outsmarts his foes with swift, wily feet.
“eh, what’s up, doc?”—his cheeky call,
a clever bunny loved by all.

Poet’s Note:
Inspired by Bugs Bunny’s famous 1940 line, “Eh, what’s up, doc?”.

         (\(\
         (-.-)
         o_(")(") Eh, what’s up, doc?

Premium MemberLegos Are Fun For Everyone

I'm bested by my grandson, who's not an engineer
because he outbuilds me in Lego construction, I fear.
My contention overwhelms me with dread and woe,
because Lego toys are addictive, as I'm sure you know.

I built a house only using the colors of red and blue,
but always find I'm one Lego short. What am I to do?
A nine-year old outsmarts me, doing it much better.
He's focused on the task at hand... a real go-getter!

All over the living room floor, they end up scattered.
I enjoy feeling like a kid again... that's what mattered.
Sometimes I erect something equal to an architect,
but too soon it breaks apart and my effort is wrecked!

One day I carefully assembled a church and its steeple,
proud of what I'd built... pews and itsy-bitsy people.
Then, my grandson said, "Nana, you used every Lego!"
Then he dismantled all my work and deflated my ego.

Legos present a challenge to adults and kids alike.
They're more fun to play with than riding a new bike.
I lose tract of time when I'm playing with Lego blocks.
Never want to put them away so I don't look at clocks.

Premium MemberSix Outsmarts Me

the child is six, and sharp
I knew this when he said “that looks like a DNA tester.”
What is a DNA tester? I asked.
“You know. You test blood, saliva and urine with it.”
I was impressed.

I had been asked to let the child know we cannot speak of guns in school.
Apparently he made the mistake of sharing a video game story of violence.
“Did you know we cannot say gun in school?” I asked him.
He stared at me.
Then he said “Can I say pistol?”
He is six, mind you, in first grade.
I shook my head “no”.
“Can I say assault rifle?”
“Is that a gun?”
He grinned.

He is bright, I will give him that.
Probably way too bright for his teacher.
I am the school counselor.
My job is to not appear bright.
“We cannot talk about any weapons at school,” I said.
“What about machete?”
“Not any weapons,” I warned him. “Okay?”
“Not even pink nun-chucks?”
I was running out of poker faces.

Every Boy Is a Flexible Toy

Every boy will have many thoughts,

Negative words may be given as shots,

Even beating may rupture their hearts,

They mayn't get the needed comforts,

Will get pains their tender body parts,

A lesson, each pain definitely imparts,

A boy led wrongly one day just rots,

Another led wisely gets treasure pots,

In a gist, a guided boy easily outsmarts,

A misguided one, as a terrorist, departs,

Every young one, if the World escorts,

They build for World's peace strong forts!

My Name Is Addiction

To those of us that struggle with addiction,
 It's a choice you could say a self-infliction.

You’re a slave to the substance and you’re not aware,
A heavy cross for one to bare.

All the wheeling and dealing you can muster,
your wife a Tweeker you can't trust her.

Shady characters come with a song and dance,
getting ahead in this game a slim chance.

Every night you pray for a tomorrow,
another day filled with betrayal and sorrow.

Everyone is a liar, a thief and cheaters,
junkies, pill poppers, coke heads and Tweekers.

A mirage of addicts come and go,
tomorrow someone here could be Jane Doe.

The same thing day in and day out,
sometimes there is enough others you go without.

Addiction is with you everywhere you go,
It outsmarts you, you have no control.

Addiction comes in all shapes and sizes,
hand in hand with denial, deceit and lies.

You can never really be at ease,
My name is Addiction and I'm your disease.

Premium MemberShark Outsmarts Me Again Today

Cat’s shots were scheduled at noon today
Shark stayed out of sight, completely away.
Came prancing back home at five o’clock
Vet’s office closed for the day and duly locked.

Reserata Carcerem Xvii

time is not a spell - porous plague:
bounty bewitchment squinching crest,
la-de-da odds fostering surge,
drooling dirge heaving lanky lurch

time ain't perforated portion
ascribed by nocturnal nature:
hankering hectares feigning fields,
swaying swigs, fused figs, sumptuous spree

time outsmarts a tool - meagre mist:
gaunt fashion, gullible mimick,
fleshened forensics, torn tactics
inflected blitzkrieg, damp disc'pline

taunted time is an oxygen
breathe through it or wane without it.

Reserata Carcerem Iv

love's a voluptuous venom, wanky wares
until between cruising couplet it's shared
make no name if seeped'n felon flaunt
porous penury outsmarts wielded wealth: wanky whore

whooshing war's better for jolting justice
if for fame, moaning mistake feigns thrills
melting mind carves a cave for choice
many lodge in insanity, pruned politic's foil

if trained taking groomed you not to give
death drools, more you take less you live
lanky lust's a pluming plague love cures
well! Inky infatuation often love lures

if life pores patience that you seek refuge in death
you've been dead ere then - callous selfishness' crest.

Note: of airy acumen.

We Hear Our Tam Tam Drums

Our tam tams are vibrating
to the rhythm of the hunt.
Mighty bear is in the forest
showing his angst.

His claws are large
as the tips of our spears.
His teeth are as tips of arrows,
which fly to his fur.

Tam Tams are playing,
wounded bear is roaring.
Man outsmarts him with his tomahawk,
but no one conquers the circle of life.

These Awful Feasts of Vultures

The rooster calls us
To the recurrent feasts of vultures
‘The Spirits amongst you, have prepared a table before us,’
The vultures vaunt vociferously
‘What Spirits…?’
‘The Spirits that outsmarts your soldiers
Which your Justicia herself cannot sentence’

‘Come quickly,’ they told themselves
‘To the butchers’ table of Plateau
Their losses are our own gains.
It’s no business of ours
If they fail to leak the linchpins behind the lynches
And unmask their monstrous marionettes and masquerades
That now make us stable staple meals’

II
How long would we give free reins to these awful feasts?
And watch the cruel carnage of our kith and kin?
Hide, when henchmen hang our households

Who knows whose name is in the noose already?
When shall we seize these scarpering Spirits?
Before they host the vultures to another banquet

Hunted

A nights rest seems just to the fact of a bleeding heart with fresh wounds inflected by a dagger of many blades, the lies and the regret turns a soul to solid stone. The need to trust and love outsmarts the master mind behind the shade of mystery. The crazy is placed in the pot to boil and send sweet aroma to the tables where the heartless rest, the race to the finish line must start before it ends. Hurt and pain are the real winners at the table of fools and desperate thieves who fights to get a touch of power and greed. The push factor pulls you instead to the danger that creeps up at the shadows who misses home. Flattery presents itself as a common ground between strangers and the unseen. Freedom lowers itself to finger grasping reach and the form of being even is hunted and stripped of dignity.

Wanna Be Your Booming Onlooker Than Bankrupt Sponsor

Your beauty beats
whole lot said to be beautiful
why God seldom appears in public ?
God fears your decorum
outsmarts his glow
you gravitate everything
even the 'black hole' of the universe
your moves make melody in my moments
your eyes are my entrance gates into
deepest ocean to tickle the feet of the earth
tallest Himalayas to shoulder the stretch of sky
your glimpses dance on
every cell of air that goes by me
all objects they meet me
eyes opened, I see you
eyes closed, I feel you

unfortunate to utter
my eyes are okay to embrace you
my dreams are afoot to decorate you
my aim is seated to welcome you
nonetheless...
my wallet can't withstand your weight
my back succumbs to carry your beauty's basket
so is the cause my love...
I wanna be your
booming onlooker than
bankrupt sponsor

Premium MemberMiss Foxy and Hound

Miss Foxy and Hound

The fox senses spring,
The hound is too tired to fight,
Conflict delayed, friends.

The hound hides in wait,
How smart are you, Miss Foxy?
Nature in action.

The fox loves to play,
The hound takes his role to heart,
Frustration sets in.

Lone opossum roams in.
The Hound comes to Foxy’s aid,
It’s complicated.

Cherry Blossoms bloom,
Foxy outsmarts Hound again,
The Hound likes his friend.

Autumn winds blowing.
They both know their time grows short,
Hound will miss Foxy.

Winter winds bite deep.
Foxy thinks of Hound, fondly.
It’s a lonely time.

The circle of life,
‘Twas just a matter of time,
The reaper commeth.

Spring winds blow, sadly,
Foxy searches for her friend,
Silence all around.

Miss Foxy now knows,
“My foe is gone!”, with a tear,
I will miss you, Hound.

Soul Revival

From the deepest shadows
To my hidden sorrows
In a land full of disease
Where the fire cannot cease
A place where a lonely sin
Desire within
Hunts my lust
Throwing me into the dust

And when I wake up from your dream
Wishing you'd be my greatest sin
I lose my actions and my destiny
My desire to be your mistery
And bow upon my chosen fate
And my desire to be your mate

And now a lonely child is born
With no desire to watch ****
Society bans him
With the desire to be mean
He desires Everything
But there is no such thing
He outsmarts Everyone
Yet he loves No One
He commited greatest sin
To have no desire within
Loneliness and lack of passion
Made his heart enjoy no fashion

But there is someshe in his brain
One she which fights in vain the pain
Killing the beast which has the right
To have his life and throw no light
