he covers up the pain of his upbringing with comedy
making people laugh gives him purpose
the louder they laugh, the more he performs
He is a monster, an alien, a dog and pony show
He is a trickster, a jokester, a jester,
But wait…..
There is a side the people never see
Because he is a trickster
his feelings are his own
he keeps them hidden in the sleeves of his costume
never bringing them out
hiding them behind a super wide smirky smile
a clown….
No matter how dim things get
no matter how dire
how alone, or lonely or depressed he feels
he covers this up with cloaks and daggers
Pulling rabbits out of top hats
stunning the audience with sheer outrageousness
Keeping them laughing
so, he can cry
in silence…..
There’s no decorum or respect
Within the White House walls
And cameras let us witness
Some behavior that appalls.
Invite a foreign dignitary
Then berate, insult, accuse –
That’s the playbook for a bully
Desperate to be in the news.
Why would any other country,
After seeing that display,
Send a leader, knowing he or she’d
Be treated in that way?
Every day brings more examples
Of outrageousness and shock
Which, at one time, simply seemed like
Acts of bluster we would mock.
But the stakes have gotten higher
And if all the guardrails fail,
Someday writing such a poem just might
Have me end up in jail.
Recollect when you decided
for a choice was most surely made
To dismiss me from your
heart and mind
To destroy the plans
Once layed
My own dependability
as sure as a well oiled clock
aided and abetted in this outrageousness
to my unalterable shock
You declared you know I must hate you
Your exact words as I recall
I don't care enough to muster that up
but I really don't like you at all
So what will you take
from our meeting
What lesson sent
through me to you
Your well rehearsed steps shown
to have been here before
I know what I'm
taking from you.......Nothing
Doleful tenaciousness,
dissonant outrageousness,
in contemptuous mist,
forlorn and dismissed.
Early morn my sensibility,
recaptured tranquility,
solitude my quest,
undeniably blessed.
Forbearance and fortitude,
visionary interlude,
a sonnet, an epistle,
a tenet, a gift.
The Boasting sun explain its rays
blare glare glare let the seasons charm
Assemble its warm
Hey there we're here
Thanksgiving gone merry on
Sharing days of Hardy laughter
Sharing is fair, what comes after
Animations of
aggravations nations BLOOM
AND BLOOM AGAIN
Cheer cheer world's fair and fairer
Then flare-up maximum cheers
Holiday haze here
monumental craze
Christmas is upon us
Gracious holidays
My dear eggnog laced
With pleasurable
Sensation all the
Merrier happy holiday
No objection here freer
Freer share care at the gates
Hollering to make a Major mention
At the gates cheer cheers
Holler holler louder
We declare we declare
Outrageousness sprinkling
Courageousness ALL HAIL NEW YEAR
Who shall we ever be
With flawless dignity we
Have tempered forceful greetings
Destined and determined to be free
The top of the terrace trembles
With worshiping warlocks sit wondering
So stupendous the sky seems surreal
I inquire intelligently inside
Thinking that time throws what troubles
Colorful chrysalis shines and climbs courageously
Lovely light lays on lowered layer
Perfect and powerful portrayal presents pleasure
Of outrageousness opened only so often
Never kneeling now or noticeably feel
Sky’s superiority spits my soul’s special sight
I enjoy every encased enlightenment
Full of fascinating floating essence finally
Enveloped within enigmatic enlisted joy
The sky spreads its light superiorly shared
