The Gift

Doleful tenaciousness,
dissonant outrageousness,
in contemptuous mist,
forlorn and dismissed.

Early morn my sensibility,
recaptured tranquility,
solitude my quest,
undeniably blessed.

Forbearance and fortitude,
visionary interlude,
a sonnet, an epistle,
a tenet, a gift.

A lot of depth in a compact space. Agree with Silent One about your word choices; evocative, with some marvelous rhymes. "The gift" indicates gratitude for a blessing endowed. Nice.

Thank you...Sometimes less is more; especially, when playing with words. This poem does indeed come from a place of deep gratitude :-)

Sounds as if the 'gift' is one you work hard for... And isn't that what life's about, after all? -- We make a herculean effort, and then whatever gift we get, it's on us to accept it. Nicely penned, Jennie! Cheers, Gershon

It is what life is about...grateful for what we have but not complacent. Thank you Gershon, much appreciated :-)
