A Boston Serenade

My love for you is Interstate 93:
not beautiful, but there for all to see.
How summarise your worth in my affection?
Isabella Stewart Gardner’s louche collection.
Though dowdy, your hair to me is dear,
as is the rainworn house of Paul Revere.
I long to take you for my wedded spouse,
like wanting chowder (Union Oyster House).
To win you, I’d cross infinite frontiers,
just as I cross the Common (beers in ‘Cheers’).
My heart accepts you as its oligarch,
like Jarren Duran rules at Fenway Park.

Premium MemberOnce Upon a Democracy

Once upon a democracy
When freedom was a legacy
Built upon a foundation
Of church and state separation
Before the leader of the free world
His dictatorship was unfurled
Remember when your pride
Knew that God was on your side
And bless your holy patriarch
Your ever powerful oligarch

He’ll alter America’s way
This oligarch donor has sway
Musk's fascist appeal
Exploits MAGA zeal
Yet plays Trump supporters as prey

Oligarch Rule

Hate China from poor
And make money from the rich
The oligarch rule.

Premium Member----Power To All the People---

Oh, Holy Night?
Will we ever be allowed to sing this again?
Doubtful in California.
While visions of Saint Fauci dance in everyone's heads.

A once peace filled nation, that forgot their God.
Now paying the price for misguided leaders,
That legislate sin.....a virtue??
Where I can be made into a donkey, if I so choose to??
Man honors man, but never God!
Old hat, no laughs, they say?
The government maniacs think they are Moses?
Leading us where, to hell?
Or...to be beaten brutally with rubber hoses?

I see people, whistling "this is just about over."
Ridiculous as telling me, my name is a big red dog, Rover!
Power to the people cannot be restored.
Unless fear controls, by each and everyone of us are ignored!

                        POWER TO ALL THE PEOPLE
                             IN EACH NATION

                               6-17-2021

Censorship, stopping freedom of assembly, religion , schooling of children,
slamming freedom of speech is un-American. Who you voted for is not to be held against you. The President, is not an oligarch here.. Nor can he rule by
hundreds of executive orders to skirt Congress.

Super League

Clandestine meetings behind
closed doors

A Super League discussed

Not for the love of the game

Or even consultation taking the supporters or fan's or even
the actual player's views into consideration

As to the foreign overseas owners
what to them they purchased
was merely seemed just another
business acquisition

A Russian Oligarch , Arab Sheikh ,
American between the lot could
not get or figure out

That football though to you
may be nothing more than
a business acquisition

But to the fan's and the supporters
of that club

Is to them being bought their
first kit going to their first match

The connection between them
and their Dad

There town be that city

The colours of their chosen team

Their identity

As football to some is

Not a matter of life or death

It's far more important

Plato Was Right

Without exception, throughout all time,
governments devolve

Aristocracy, the Philosopher King,
benign in his resolve

Timocracy, the city state,
landed and secure

The Oligarch, his army placed,
to rule in peace and war

Democracy, each voice to shout,
as chaos takes the reins

When Tyranny must force its hand
—as socialists have deigned

Scrooge Named Ebenezer and More

Scrooge Named Ebenezer

Is highly allergic while a wheezer,
Whose middle name is Ebenezer;
Such a scrooge;
Will wear rouge;
Trump thinks he is a people pleaser.

Jim Horn

About faith, what I have found,
Is knowing when Jesus is around;
Wine in taking;
Bread  baking;
One day I will be heaven bound.

Jim Horn

We had been travelling across a plain;
While we were moving along on a train;
Tunnel went through;
Mountain did view;
Where we forever wanted to remain.

Jim Horn

One day we did run into an oligarch,
Who on a sailing ship would embark;
Seemed so shady,
And so was lady;
In pool was eaten by her pet shark.

Jim Horn

Around for information we were nosing,
And part of it said they were proposing,
Crimes discovered;
Also uncovered;
All that Trump did start totally exposing.

Premium MemberBrokenhearted Sunsets

The love you lost will not scrub away time
Nor disguise a tear stained face curled in dark
You doubt brighter suns will once again climb
Your misery's sadness turns oligarch
Sovereign hearts judge their own choice of pain
And weigh distressed scales of fleeting love lost
Extent of emotions spent to sustain
Grow rotten and die to love at all cost
Tomorrow fills with torture you provoke
And is fraught with blurred mind's eye that remains
This pained remembrance you'll evoke
Will discharge to leave darker deeper stains
You curse the sunsets you count and lament
Brokenhearted sunsets are your torment

Milk and Hate

In the land of milk honey and hate
The Evangelicals sealed it fate

Demanding its citizens religiosity
Inherent of its edits misogyny

Women second class Taliban
Treated as a form of contraband

The Oligarch fomented  dissent
While the peasants paid their rent

The war machine marched along
Its armies played King Kong

It became the land of moral decay
A nation that had lost its way

There was no moral authority
They cheated and groped with impunity

Premium MemberThe Armored Hearse

Prayers descend like acid rain from
oligarch-soaked manchurians, stumping
for elected office, praising hybrid
demigods, passing out vouchers to the
peasants.

A slow rumbling-
 part of the night-sounds-of-curfew;
descends like fire ants.

Cleaners of the guilt, hidden in plain faith,
unable or unwilling to walk, feign
blindness, darkness helps.

Cellphone towers only reflect scripted
light, as memories of real sunshine, fade
to black. A good cup of coffee is hard to
find, all the fine beans were swept away
early on, replaced by dancing bears,
politely ignored. Thunderclouds, imagined
in shapes of our founding fathers,
encourage the deluge, slowly ascending.

Underground-
   a grim band-of-believers watch (again)
a pirated tape of their favorite '80's movie,
'They Live' from the fabled city called the
new capital in 'The Postman' Minneapolis..
while the tormented sounds of-

     plows
scraping overhead, and
 hydrants,
bellys full, feeding power washers,
cascade
over hardened
faces.
