In a court where justice stands, A person, and People's fate rests in our hands.
An individual took a bold stand tall, Against a system that's hurt us all.
With a gun, he made his case, Not for killing, but to face
The power that caused so much pain, in healthcare's name, he sought to gain.
The jury has the power grand, To change the outcome with hearts in hand.
Their job is not just to see the law, But to find what's right, without a flaw.
Jury nullification means this: To say, "This defendant, we dismiss."
For justice's sake, they can decide, To change the rules that we abide.
A verdict not just guilt or free, But a stand against what shouldn't be.
For in their hearts, they hold the key, A single choice can set us free.
So let the jury speak their mind, To make our future fair and kind.
In their hands, a chance to right, The wrongs that keep us in the night.
Jury nullification can right many wrongs within our nation.

JUSTIFICATION
Oh, what a distressing frustrating situation,
I’ve suddenly lost all my poetic imagination,
Nothing tickles me pink, no stimulation,
I want to create a poem of deep inspiration,
Which will meet everyone’s expectation,
But my thoughts are edging towards nullification,
I want to scream out loud, a slow dilapidation,
I’m reaching an uncomfortable exasperation,
My muse, has succumbed to misinformation,
Intimidation, and deviant calculation,
Goodness gracious,
Heard word she wants my poetic elimination.
Someone is knocking at my door, to my jubilation,
There stands a muse, I welcome with elation,
She is well known for helping those
Experiencing mortification,
Such a refreshing sight, she must after
Careful deliberation,
Give one month’s notification,
Looking forward to her presence,
Such a welcome application,
She will help me with my recuperation.
Behold, a rhyme is forming, what scintillation,
Delivering both articulation and jollification,
My previous muse jumped from poet to poet,
Everyone realized, fickle her motivation,
But my new muse and I realized justification,
We Popped a bottle of champagne in celebration.

the fire is contained
its noxious gray exhalation dissipates
its horror briefly subdued
(a bomb cyclone detonates in the freezing wind)
memories of the departed
haunting a cold lifeless room
fading into numbing nullification
(apparitions drift through a punctured psyche)
almost all gone now
alone as words become muted
alone as I flail in a savage sea

As we are all part of the same verse,
languages to belong by diverse.
When the pen is mightier then the sword,
rhymed words are the crown of all commerce.
Legislation and constitutions in applicable intellect,
loving words by peacemakers detect.
Therapeutic words are the guru’s mother tongue,
liberating the spirits to where they belong.
Admired by masters of philosophy in dept,
liberating the cosmic mental effect.
Love letters become the innocent testament,
marriage contract sealing the happy ever after trend.
Societies in refined approach spoke in rhyme,
mental attitude with a thought through to define.
Mechanic quick thinking is the wheel in wheel respective,
giving no room for pliable introspective.
Selected words of grace as guided meditation,
open the vaults of poor collected separation.
Books of poesy towards the child’s education,
replaced by syllabus sheets towards nullification.
The human mind without words has no image,
the system in disguise establishing the damage.
While rhymes in poetic sense by the day,
keeps all confusion at bay.

Klaatu Barada Nikto.
If that
is how it's done,
then so it will be done.
I now lift my hand and will
be gone. So movingly inside
this single one, existence
fought nullification, and
amazingly, victoriously,
won, that day Earth
lived on.

Despite It All…We Still Sail Onward
(Apropos Again)
Why have we chosen to wallow?
Despair. Listen to the ancestors.
They did more with less; we have more.
Fool! We have boots with straps!
Be aware of where they came!
Be not deceived and succumbed.
Be not a victim of self defeat.
Catch a tear and wash it back.
Crystal stairways always shatter.
Remember the Ancestors who had less.
Ye of little faith, know that the faith
Of the ancestors weigh heavily on the arch
Forever bending against the straight anvil
Of nullification and dissimulations;
Curving and bending to waiting justice.
Survival surrenders nothing to defeat.
Liberation is not given; but fought and won.
Tears and grief win not battles; neither does despair.
Audacious faith and flames of hope and redemption
Burn and desolate all fears of defeat and delusions.
Despite the roaring sea ahead, we sail onward.
Despite the holes in our sails, we sail onward.
Despite the waning winds, we sail onward.
Despite the empty belly of hell, we sail onward.
Despite challenging vicissitudes we sail onward.

To A Prodigal Awakening
They said the grass was greener
On the other side;
so you stepped over—clutching
great expectations
and the satisfaction of lingering
hunger for better.
Yes you yearned to be
What you’re not.
You returned bewildered and dismayed;
Perilous journey—
The sojourn to truths taught
often tries the soul.
The life of our fulfillment in creation
is an ebony tower—
transcending all nullification
of those created in The Image:
Welcome home Brother. Come
Bathe and baptize yourself in the Nile waters
of your Nubian beginning.
Indeed, there’s no place like home;
where black is beautiful and it’s so beautiful
To be young, gifted and black—
And that’s a fact.
