Everyone hates Rainy days
They’re so cold and grey
So why do they bring me peace?
How does it put my mind at ease?
The Storm matches my chaotic mind
Slowing things down so that I can unwind
The Rain washes out my pain
And the darkness neutralizes my brain
The weather aids my temper
It tames the raging fire
Cooling the blazing embers
Causing my hatred to retire
Rainy days allow my head to rest
Relieving the weight on my chest
Steals the piercing heartache
Healing the damage gained by my mistakes
What's not to love about Rainy days?

Elderly neighbour
Her eyes flecked with humility
Her reclusive stare that neutralizes wisdom
(perhaps an unexplored depth of fear)
Nothing much spoken between us beyond "good morning"
No words of pre-sliced acceptance
No unguarded thoughts to take us in a different direction
Uncharted territory in her peek through the door
An eerie sense of communion
Still I shovel her snow
Pity for the empty cradle of old age
Pity for what feels like a failure of love
my rush to fill the gaps between us
Maybe I need any relationship beyond my look in the mirror
Barren lines of futility
fallen shadows
on winter's fertile ground

Hang in the den
When lions roam in wait
To snatch your serenity from Eden
Where the Devil’s threat
Roams to pounce
On the dignity you espouse
In more bounce per ounce
To rouse and arouse
The Devil’s desire
Jealousy and envy
Fire, mire and ire
In a bevy of grit gravy and scurvy
Sent with venom
Into the home
You strive so hard to form, reform, inform and roam
Free of the comb
That your lair dishevels
Your gondola destabilizes
Your plan bedevils
Cauterizes and neutralizes
Effective, efficient efforts
To consolidate family
In ports and forts
When a hiatus homily
Predicts doom
Speculates gloom
In the living room, in the bed room
With no zoom
On the Way-maker’s plan
To breathe new life
To plan and scan
New initiatives to eradicate strife
From the midst
Where vision diminished
By a strange twist
Assumes family fission and friction fished
Without the Way-makers approval
No win, queen
As the Way-maker’s disapproval
Refuses to grant growth to a puny pin and sin tin.

If I take a tour deep down my heart
I shall find out what neutralizes me…I shall know my ability to think
Of how pure a soul can be..I shall know why a baby wants to grow
All the reasons why only the sun is the one that shall glow…I shall find out that all
.....
Things I have will fade away slow….i would know why I’m confused at this moment

life too short not to

to reach magnitudes

Mantle--a fluid shelf that cradles all existence;
Soil--a table that nurtures all subsistence
Flora--a cultivated canvas that neutralizes resistance;
Fauna--a habituated benefactor of indulgence.
Wind--a mysterious force of ambivalence,
Dispersing seed and spore with diligence.
Fondling cloak that cools with benevolence;
Powerful menace that uproots with violence.
Fire, generative force imbuing hearth with resilience;
A temporal light that provides luminescence.
Warming incubator, glowing candescence,
Brooding killer scorching with indifference.
Water--a random discharge of providence.
A vast reservoir of expedience.
An enervating stream that fuels with prescience;
An extractor that disperses with each recurrence.
Immutable elements with primordial affluence;
Material objects manipulated for human ascendence.

sitting under the sycamore tree
visualizing how life in their world might be
little boys made into soldiers and rebels
forced to rape their mothers and sisters
bellies sticking out full of empty air
the smell of death neutralizes the air
bodies thrown into a pit and forgotten over ages
washing up in feces infested water and drinking urine
blood tears stained their cheeks
surviving off human remains
guards beating them merciously with chains
no where out no where to go only one road to the top
starring into the sky imagining another world they'll never find
red cross workers become hostages supplies destroyed
trading women for livestock and kids for sexual pleasures
murders more common than the flu with no cure
militia are the new mom and dad of their town
sores and disease infest and corrode their helpless bodies
the body count adds up survival grows slim
we sit and watch this on t.v then say goodnight to our family
isn't life all the same we should be ashamed
these stories are real and are not so far away
how about saving a life today

Every time I was with you I was complete
The emptiness inside me no one can succeed
Now as the day dawns upon us to be apart
Tears from my eyes neutralizes the burning in my heart
As I wait and you begin to move your feet
People around you start to greet
So hard I try still I frown
When I lost your picture tears were down
That was it the final time I saw your face
I had a wish to have a final embrace
