Rainy Days
Everyone hates Rainy days
They’re so cold and grey
So why do they bring me peace?
How do they put my mind at ease?
The Storm matches my chaotic mind
Slowing things down so that I can unwind
The rain seems to borrow my pain
Allowing me to temporarily escape
And the darkness caused by theses pouring days
It neutralizes the sour taste imbedded in my brain
The weather aids my temper
It tames my raging fire
Cooling my blazing embers
Causing my hatred to retire
They tend to my cold heart
Causing my mental storms to part
The rain washes out my internal darkness
Letting the light in
It cleanses the venom
Running throughout my veins
Rainy days allow my head to rest
Relieving the weight that sits upon my chest
Steals that piercing heartache
That has left too many scars
Healing the damage gained by all my mistakes
The rain wipes away the sorrow
Erases the tears rolling off my cheeks
Creating the chance for a new tomorrow
They purify all sadness left inside
Leaving joy in my mind
What's not to love about Rainy days?
