As the last thread of darkness bids
farewell, it took a swipe at their
peaks,
A thick coat of mist casts a wet blanket
over their faces and swiftly leaves,
Then, out comes the glow of Dawn’s
first golden rays cascading warmth all
over them,
Giant guardians of the earth, through
it all, the mountains stood in silence,
Dawn by the

Tribute To An Indian Army General

Why am I hurt so sore, my folks
Why does my heart bleed
Why do I take it so personally
Why do I need to worry at all

Yesterday my General, his men
And the family were here in splendor
Today they are nowhere to be seen
Men in uniform were together for breakfast
But for lunch, they will never

Thoughts On a Spanish Mountainside

Grey cotton wool clouds enfold the mountain tops,
Creeping forward like an army on the move.
Now and then, dropping their wet cargo
On vegetation, withered from long months of sun.
Gusts of wind carry fragments of birdsong,
Rejoicing in the rain, singing their hearts out,
Snippets of melodies, tunes incomplete
Yet somehow they hold total beauty.
The local goat herd head

The wind blew strong gusts of cold air
As I walked with the sunshine on me
I thought of being in your arms, so warm
Cyclones of leaves blew across the street
My mind spun into a reverie
I kept walking to see what color
The distant mountain is today
Around the corner it was there
A mixture of orange and brown glowing
With

There way up high He stands
looking down on His very own
this is God in Christ compassionate
searching for the seed He has sown

This Jesus stands above His creation
speaking forth His gospel call
to those He has particularly chosen
his irritable love draws them all

The great desire of the blessed saviour
is to bring in all His father has gave
to

Low On the Mountainside

Low on the mountainside, I saw a limpid stream of gold.
His subtle whisper carried him along the gorge,
Where firs and pines and maples, in the crevice, forge
Their nest of eagles sheltered by the rocky mould.

I hurried down to watch and chase his rapid pace,
Unbound though evanescent as the dew of dawn.
A murmur was

MOUNTAINSIDE

Always, there would be darkness hovering through-
out the bushes and trees, massive sky and earthen ground
he tiptoed upon in shoeless stealth, machine gun slung

over one shoulder and, strapped across the other,
a leather

Midway, Mountainside

I stretch lazily in the morning sun-
 awakening to pure mountain air
 mingled with herbs and flowers.

the mist gives a magical hue
 to fresh greens and pinks
of the garden beyond the gate.

the stream rushes by with resonance,
chasing the mountainside down to the Mattole
then the Pacific pounding the cliffs below.

 my

Mountainside

the majestic and
picturesque snow
capped mountains
left me
captivated

the view was
breathtaking
inhaling the
fresh air was
invigorating

the tranquil breeze
skimmed the surface
of my skin
and left me breathless

peace and serenity
assailed my senses
