Mountainside
The wind blew strong gusts of cold air
As I walked with the sunshine on me
I thought of being in your arms, so warm
Cyclones of leaves blew across the street
My mind spun into a reverie
I kept walking to see what color
The distant mountain is today
Around the corner it was there
A mixture of orange and brown glowing
With clouds like cotton in deep blue sky
A plane in the distance flew by
It wasn’t going to heaven so I must stay
To finish all I can do in each day
I will mix the colors on the palette
And bring the mountainside to view
With hopes you see the beauty too
