Love lets you makes mistakes
Without leaving you
Immersed in the pool of regrets,
Swallowing back tears and remembering
The sins that colored your heart
Hard and darkened your dreams
So they were flooded with quiet details,
Elements like fear and sorrow, pain and guilt,
Shame that wouldn’t let you go,
Free from the humiliation, the disgrace
The bumbling embarrassment
And the indignity of doubt

Blood

Blood

When I woke up the other night
The blood was on the sheets red and bright
It was part of becoming a woman right?

But how come after the blade slices across my skin
Making lines nice and thin
I cry thinking it’s a sin

This is a different type of blood
Not the one where cotton pads are used

There once was a man from Gibraltar,
Who didn't do what he oughter?
He wore gigantic big socks,
That he filled up with rocks

Recipice Precipice
Carolyn Child would be
Mortified watching me
Cooking with joy and glee
Random ingredients
Thrown in a pot!

Hardly comestible
Near-indigestible
Never repeatable
Undefatigable
Principal requisite
Just make it hot!

Not a pure double dactyl, but in the spirit of one…

Julia Carolyn Child is the person, I pronounce Ju-li-a,
but the syllable counter pronounces Jul-ya,
so I went with her middle name.

Sweet Lorelei was in distress -
an angler’s rod ripped off her dress,
perched high on her rock,
she was sans her frock,
her nakedness she must redress!

She clambered down onto the beach,
to gather seaweed in arm's reach,
then formed a bikini,
(which was rather teeny,)
now sailors declare her a peach!

Shocked, Ashamed and Mortified

Shocked, ashamed and mortified
How could a man from the church, a clergy man touch our young girls?
How do you look on a child for pleasure when you preach of honesty and trust?
How could you abuse the innocence of a young girl when she looked to you for guidance?
How many others have there been?

Mortified

I,
walk among the zombies
rotting in an unfathomable ghetto,
thrust ‘neath lifeless golden bricks,
drenched in crimson hues
of survival.

She,
dressed in disgrace,
gyrates to an ugly music,
painting his evenings in sordid colors!
What have they done to you,
Oh my Modesty!!

A desperate light flickers high above.
Unattainable.
Blind.

Does your fumbling feeble mind remember me?
I was once known as Honesty.

I can't find my clothes, they have strayed away.
Naked and cold in the middle of day.
Strangers are laughing and rude,
I've no idea why I'm nude.
Let this be a bad dream, dear Lord, I pray.

For Johns's contest. Nude dream 2nd place
