Could platinum coin deposit
In the U.S. Treasury's closet
Our debts enjoin?
A trillion-dollar coin
Might yield a government profit
Author's Note: Section 31 U.S.C. § 5112 of the United States Code authorizes the Treasury Department to "mint and issue platinum bullion coins" in any denominations the Secretary of the Treasury may choose. This privilege only extends to platinum coins. Thus, if the Treasury were to mint a few one-trillion dollar platinum coins, it could deposit such coins in the general fund instead of issuing debt (lol).
Seigniorage is the difference between the receipts from the Federal Reserve System from the sale of circulating coins at face value and the costs of minting and distributing the coins. Seigniorage is deposited periodically to the General Fund where it reduces the government's need to borrow.
Of course, this might create a wave of inflation. But we should all realize that the value of paper currency eventually tends to zero. In any event, the inflation we've experienced in 2022 is just a taste of what's to come since the politicians don't want to explain a depression to their voters. We're entering strange times.
Mint, peppermint, Cool Mint, badminton. . . .
But that's not what I meant.
You still don't know what I meant?
Then I'll give you a hint.
There's a famous guy named Clint.
Yes, his family name is Eastwood.
As an actor, he's sharp as a flint.
He always wears a shirt with a nice tint.
He hates to drive a car with a dint.
He once wrote a book that never got out of print.
He once daydreamed of being a quint.
He's diligent, he always works without a stint.
"Go ahead, make my day!"
says he, with his eyes shining with a glint.
So tidy is he, well-dressed is he,
without a single loose piece of lint.
Never did he do that, no he didn't.
So said he, with his trademark squint.
But he's not learned enough to be able to read a Septuagint.
Once he broke his leg, and they had to put it into a splint.
Old Poets
Poem
Lionel Derbyshire
Old poet word's never die
They keep us going
All the time
Stirring up the mind
We refer their chaste
Clerk people who
Keep their trademark
Mentoring accross a divide
Slapped on plain paper
Without blog and android
Penmen who keep the world going
Giving inspiration in ode or sonnet
Their verses strikes the chords
Which rules this universe
To invent new thoughts
And made us all the enterprise
How great they are saving
Wretch and raider all the time.
They tell us how to mint a dime
And the value of the honeybee.
They periscope deep in our souls
So we can talk of horoscopes
They wind us up when in dispair
To look out for a breaking wave
And make us happy in a shallow cave.
These are seers of the crystal ball
Who let us plan another day
Old poet's never die ..
We read them all the time
They are hardworking wordsmiths
Improving a berserk world all the time.
Quatrain #68:
SOUL
Love comes to mint a certain poise,
Joy knows the tint in cheery voice;
Faith moves fine lint to shine fond dream,
Hope sparks the flint to fire fine choice.

Mind shapes and tints texture and space,
Yield thought and all to Oneness clear;
See Truth now mint a mystic face,
Thrill knows a call that purges fear;
Invite the heart to forge and fling,
Calm stillness veils the path divine;
Ask to dare start to know that spring,
Live to avail that mystic line.
Meet weird and bold the movements here,
Allow fond space where time stands still;
Do seize control with humble cheer,
Mind transcends face to empty fill;
Ask just to know the course that sums,
Notice the flow that goes yet comes.

Rest for a while as ideas come,
Wear a true smile that simply sums.
Ideas can paint that sparkle here,
Pressure can taint that awkward sphere.
Wait as you sit for words to come,
Yes bit by bit, a message sums.
Take heed and shape the inner voice,
Harvest fond grapes where wit tints poise.
Look beyond things when pulse dictates,
Let surge and fling frame what pulsates.
Word by word mint a verse that works,
Thought colours hint in hurl and jerk.
In a few lines, let pictures tile
As thought defines a breath worthwhile.
