brushstrokes across canvas of mine
flow smoother and mellower with wine

Premium Membersomebody on the bus asked me, 'do you have a mellower view of humanity?'

if you wonder whether you should write to anyone,
always do;
you'll be surprised at the difference it can make
i regret not doing it more often myself

A soft sound is gentle as falling snow
that rests for a moment in a tall pine
as whispers of breeze urge it on below
to begin a softly sculpted design

A summer dusk with lavender shadows
that soften and gentle a stone pathway
or, tall grass and flowers in the meadows
softly nodding in breeze at end of day

Soft music filling the air soothing souls
As day offers her brightest charms to night
and stars softly appear, fulfilling roles
of lighting the skies along with moonlight

Softly spoken words can cool anger's heat
and cause mellower thoughts to now appear
soft is baby's skin, smelling fresh and sweet
Soft is holding a lonely person near.

Premium MemberSunshine of Youth

Frisky kitty is in fresh, velvety flowers,
Dancing all the honeyed bloom hours.
As song drifts from the secret bowers,
Lacy clouds waft and the sun smolders.

Kitty courses in color and sweet odors,
The spell of youth has strange powers,
In greener days that happiness towers,
Until sun grows mellower and mellower.

Premium MemberTime Seems To Go Faster

Remarkable how time seems to go faster
As we age, truth is, we move much slower,
If we are not careful, time passes us by
We grow less purpose-driven, mellower.

We leave more to the next generation
Feel we have accomplished our life's tasks
Look forward to receiving some veneration
Like to spend more time with our flasks.

Sometimes we think about time stopping
Knowing it will someday surely stop for us,
When into our rocking chair we are plopping
The cares of the day are no longer a fuss.

Does Time Go Faster

Does time go faster
when one feels happy
and forgets all worries
that pound the brain daily
noticing that who despairs
makes life bitter, not mellower?

Ponder on these words wisely,
choose a direction with clarity,
step down from the pedestal
of deception and surprise them all!

Does time go faster
gazing and not staring longer
at the hopeless faces
one meets and wishes not to say
hello to share their gullibility?

Watch the steady flow of brooks,
their water burbles through rocks,
we should imitate them and learn:
whoever avoids hurdles is bound to burn.

Premium MemberIntroverts

While the extroverts clamor for fame on the run,
It is often we silent ones getting things done.
Although public attention we tend to evade,
We are regular people--just diff'rently made.

We the feelings and failings of everyone share,
But withdraw when exposed to society's glare.
Situations we measure before we proceed
And we solitude treasure, but friendship still need.

We were born with a reticence some think is rude,
And we're sometimes excluded because we're subdued.
Many wrongly conclude that if quiet, one's dumb;
But we introverts march to a mellower drum.

Although some of us bolder would be if we could,
By and large, we're content and consider life good.
We observe, without envy, our peers who are loud,
And existence enjoy while apart from the crowd.

God of Music

Attentively
The evening's rain
To the east constellation
Melodies merged and grew
violent
Indignantly
A mellower noticed
Soothing song
Blindly improvising
Gods summoned music
A ballad of his projected time
Spotlight
Aesthetic potential and
sympathetic
Too enticed to hear
A showing
Bright musical performances
Through the drizzle, with eyes
He qualified his love for reality
The soulful voices sounded like
a poem
Instrument of the beholder

Infancy To Adolescence

A defenseless seed planted in spring's tempestuous furrow
Nourished with fertile juices; warmed in caressing burrow
Escaping subterranean cavern into formative strand, roots still
shallow
Sprouting into a strappling seedling that doth hope, promise bellow

In sweltering, summer haze; tender stem bows and bends
Strong, directionless winds blow; the fragile stalk spins
Froward pests snip at the intestinal fiber, productive growth
ammends
Heavy torrents of doubt seep inward drowning the hidden tentacles
on which outward growth depends

After arduous spring travails end, summer's balmy season begins
Long, dry days with timid growth to begin
Steadying anchor balasts the green adolescent, promise to portend
Stronger constitution allows the fecund shoots against blight,
predators defend
Stiff resistance, ample growth produces fruitful dividend

Late summer, vibrant plant reaches it's zenith, ripening fruit
suspends
Toils of younger days along with the growing pain ends
Mellower-toned follicles displaying strong genetic traits from each
stem extends
Acclimated to unforgiving environment, with spare fuel, for its
place ardently fends
