Two of us on a sixties hippie trip
to see if our gears would slip or mesh
innocent but wary yet wide-eyed
to the Imperial city of Marrakech
she perfumed with patchouli
me I traveled totally tie-dyed
all around was peace and love
we teamed to a tee and seemed
a fit the perfect hand in glove
but not long later it was deemed
as it was commonplace to see
in the medina not strapped for cash
kif from the Rif sellers
in the souk smoking hash
the country lacked law and order
no sooner said than escorted
back to Ceuta across the border
funny now in retrospect but not then
how when we blew out on the Sirocco
tho' we hadn't gone so far as the kasbah or bazaar
were deported without ceremony from Morocco
Marrakech and Bangladesh
My recall's not that fresh...
On to the parts of the limbic system
In school, I usually missed 'em
Quarks, photons, bosons, and gluons
Art class? Cut and paste?
All that stuff you're supposed to learn
~ Seems like quite a waste
The melancholic, cold rain makes me sad.
In the days of loud silence,
rain always called on you.
Your way into my thoughts and tears.
*
Color of lead on the sky; everything is grey.
The blue is in your eyes only.
Come along and listen with me
to the drops dripping down the window.
Like once upon a time down to our curls,
while in love and smiling,
we kissing each other under the clouds.
*
Your head is on my heart.
I am silently touched by your skin.
The gentle warmth of voice.
Your hands on my face heal everything.
*
Heavens Weltschmerz for all sad loves.
Maybe spring will bring something new.
New love and joy.
*
Piano music is somewhere in the distance.
A full circle day is approaching.
Announcement of the golden days in Marrakech.
With flower petals on the bed
and the view of the sunny oasis day.
---#---
from ages reminiscent
of enchanted faraway worlds
an ethereal dream
wondrous and mystical
a drifting desert breeze
dancing veils of silk
whisper grace
a touch of the divine
from the heart of Morocco
its haunting music for the soul

I'm a salad aficionado, expert at making my own
Ingredients I won't divulge, won't jeopardize my throne
Hoping on making lotsa cash
Plan a trip to Marrakech
It's the greatest salad that humans have ever known
Mellifluous is its name,
August and worthy of its fame,
Romantic and idyllic all the same,
Refulgent and bright in the myopic’s eye,
Abstruse to the ignorant mind,
Keen to the witty’s wit.
Ebullient in the face of melancholy
Classic during the day, but
Habitable and hospitable in a humble way.
