Let's see how well my memory works: quarks are quartets of sharks, photons were the cameras preceding the Kodak Instamatics, bosons are bisons from Boston, and gluons are what glue sticks are made of. Looks like I got an F on my test again. Great poem, buddy. Keep 'em coming.

Hi Gershon, I can't agree with you more. Learning how to do math problems the long form, using a 25 step formula (not sure if they wanted to dazzle you or torture you). Now I use just a calculator (Lol) Good Poem ~ Debbie

The only steps needed for the calculator are those on the way to the check-out lane to buy it. (Unless it was a freebie from some charitable organization, of which I must have four or five lying around. lol.) Thanks, Debbie.

It is a waste for me too; so many things I have never used. I knew I wouldn't but I had to memorize them for a test; promptly forgetting them the next day.

Gee, it took you a whole day to forget the Pythagorean Theorem?! Wow. You are really smart! It only took me about .03 minutes. lol. ~ Mark Twain

And, in my opinion, it is. It definitely IS, gw. I've often said a kid could skip the entire fourth grade and never miss a thing! I can't remember a thing from fourth grade!

Ha, ha. I LIKE you comment, Milt, that 'all that stuff' in school 'IS definitely (a waste).' ... Speaking of 4th grade, here's what I remember: an SRA reading program, where we could each go at our own pace. That was nice. And the teacher, in her first year, was named Miss (Jacqueline) George. We made a silly rhyme about her: 'Jackie George went out to play, kissed the boys and ran away.' ... Epilogue: Miss George got married that summer, and that was the end of her teaching career (at least, for a while). Remember those days? -- Marriage meant no more teaching. The year was 1959. :) gw

But we will always have the Isosceles triangle and a dangling participle

-- Not to mention the Pythagorean Theorem, the Law of Gravity, and the Past Subjunctive tense. ... Oh, wait! -- The past subjunctive isn't used anymore, except by geezers like me: Today we say, 'If he would have made the shot, we would have won.' -- i/o 'If he had made the shot...' So much for Grammar being etched in stone, as in 'Thou shalt not speak slang!' lol.

Indeed it's true! Everywhere, perception plays the desired role! Great share! Regards

Yes, indeed, Silpika... Without perception, reality is just misconception. Cheers, gw
