I have a degree,
It reads "the school of hard knocks."
not Magna Cum Laude.

Haven't wanted for anything,
God has really blessed.

Hey Poetrysoup Folks-

I picked "cinqku" because I don't know
what form that is, and I'm too lazy to
look it up; but if you've ever read any
of my poetry you should know I don't
want to lead anyone down a particular
path, but just that you read into what
you want to read into. However,
comments are left open to release,
and it seems PoetrySoup has an in
and an outside crowd. As Groucho
Marx once said (maybe a paraphrase)
"I wouldn't want to be a member of
a club that would want me as a
member."

So, with my last poem I stated about
paying my bill. So I have settled what
I owe, but I do leave a big tip, and if
you are wise you will follow, Maureen
McGreavy is the best TASTE out of
this pot.

For you bible pushers and preachers, "In
the beginning was the WORD." Choose
your words wisely. That verbal stone you
skipped might just hit you in the ****.

My wife has often said, "Why is the F word
the first thing out your mouth when you were
class scholar and magna cum laude?" F them.

My Valentine Soup

Endear my soul
I pled for quest
Your fortune lo and behold
I pored for adore abreast
Lacked in notion by the unspoken magna cum laude
I searched for hope, peacefully at rest.

Love thirst for lust
I longed for my desire
Your fortune lo and behold
I last for a threshold to admire
Belie by the vile magna cum laude
I held down so that my mien aspire.

Unholy my pilgrim
I tossed for my solitaire
Your fortune lo and behold
I graced for a mighty meriting layer
Avowed by the chromatic symbiosis magna cum laude
I breathed to my valentine, preached for an eonian prayer.

Made For Each Other

Like I made you with my own hands
I want you to dance like I taught you every step
Be at my beckon call without neglect
Wrap me in arms that I made specifically to encompass every curve’s crevice
Taste me with every sense of class that embodies the magna cum laude of them
all
I want you to stand tall even when you feel six feet deep
I want you to make heads turn and send chills down spines with a confidence
that is more then just heard when you speak
I want you to tell me with more than your lips that I’m the reason you breathe
I want to slumber in peace knowing that only you and god know the secrets I keep
I want you to build our foundation on prayer, faith, and trust
I want you and me to be the only us
I made your hands to feel my energy be it fragile or strong
I made your eyes to see through me when I can’t explain what’s wrong
I sculpted your mind a masterpiece
You think twice not once
Your shoulders are broad enough to carry the world but I don’t expect you to
I need you to take care of home like a man suppose to do
I made you this way and it’s how I want you to be
You are the guide to my path
I follow your lead
