Money
I am not made of money but my clothes say I am
I am not made of money but my voice tells me I am
I am not made of money but society says I am
I am not made of money but my wife thinks I am
I am not made of money but my life says I am
I am not made of money but my history tells me I am
I am not made of money but the roman history tells me I am
I am not made of money but judas from the bible tells me I am
I am not made of money but God tells me I am not so I can be who I am
Cheers To Loneliness
You never appreciated a thing
Kicked me to the curb anyway
Always walking on egg shells
You never respond
Always the silence treatment
Have a drink toward isolation
Cheers to loneliness
For I am zero
Another failed marriage
Just being honest
Where did I go wrong?
I guess because i grew old
I was never enough
I’m not made of money
The bed room is always empty
What's the point of staying
Cheers to loneliness
I”m always to blame
Turn to dust
What a shame
Have another drink
To cover up the pain
Christmas cards and credit cards
and lists of much to plenty.
It's choking Daddy half to death.
They think I'm made of money.
Give me this and I want that.
It's more than I can do.
All the money in the world
is never enough to suit.
So I'll tell you what I'm gonna do!
Just You Mark My Words!
I'll bow my head
shut my mouth
and go quietly back to work.
She was definitely a strange girl,
Many odd and weird things I have heard;
She dreamt of riches,
Silk robes,
Rich husband,
Deepest bag of diamonds,
High-priced banquets,
Treated like a princess.
From the church the bells tolled,
Her wedding was due,
Hip hip hurrah,
I met the spoilt bride,
She held her breath,
Balanced with fears,
Her man arrived in time,
She was only eighteen,
He was nineteen, fifty years ago,
Married three times,
Widowed three times.
Beside her he knelt with difficulty,
She looked at his wrinkled face,
His cotton white hair,
His hands shaken,
But he was made of money….
Who cares….
Her eyes blinked,
Who cares…
Ill-fated is this married life,
Ominous prediction for this wife;
Still he was rich,
She was a,
Birds of a feather,
Spurious and preposterous,
For she’s eighteen,
He’s sixty-nine….
Wondering if he manages this sexual position!
Jim found a way to make his girlfriends sing
he buys each one a giant diamond ring,
while he's not made of money
they all call him "Sweet honey"...
but his wife just calls him "My ding-a-ling."
Daddy, Daddy, Daddy, Daddy can I have
Do you think I am made of money, wealth, prosperity.
Daddy, Daddy, Daddy, Daddy can I do
When I was your age we did as we was told, we did not just do things without permission.
Daddy, Daddy, Daddy, Daddy it wasn't me
Do you think I was born yesterday. I am a lot older and wiser than you so don't think you can pull the wool over my eyes.
Daddy, Daddy, Daddy, Daddy was you asleep
I was not asleep, I was just resting my eyes and ironing the lines on my forehead.
Daddy, Daddy, Daddy, Daddy do you love me
Course I love you, take this money and buy yourself something nice. If you did anything wrong I forget you and I know you would not lie to me. Run along now, Daddy is tired and needs to rest.
She was so visually stunning
That when I saw her instead of being cunning
I started running
Figuring anything this promising had to be up to something
She may as well have had warning tattooed on her forehead
Seeing as her skirt was in need of more thread
And was showing more than her bare legs
She's been misled
She approached me and asked if love could be this simple
I replied "You just see potential in my visual credentials"
She looked perplexed face lost its dimples
Then replied "Oh you Mr. spiritual"
I sat her down and told her I saw beyond her facade
And that she would rather be pleasin God
And me I got my flaws but Im workin on em all
Where others stride I barely crawl
Sometimes I stumble and even fall
But I get up when others pause
perpetual motion with a cause
She then began to weep so heavily it was scary
She said walk in her shoes and dared me
She was enraged she's just a slave
And her chains are made of money.
The Robin Hood days are here no more
Rob from the rich and give to the poor
I long for Sherwood Forest
The rich became the poorest
Now they take until my wallet is sore
But they'll always find a way to tax
Preying on workers who break their backs
Why does it have to be me
And I mean honestly
I'll be paying this year with scooby snacks
Do they think that I'm made of money?
They squeeze 'til my nose is runny
They tax 'til we have no life
You'd think they were my wife
Next thing you know there calling me honey
We have no good luck for many years.
If we want to reach something,
All occurs to the contrary:
The ships sail without us,
Nobody invites us
to other end of the world,
Good luck does not send us a telegram.
We so want a happy way!
We want, that grasses blossom for us
all year round,
And the winds are kind,
And every tomorrow always is better than yesterday,
And our heart always remain young!
But they repeat, that we are not children any more ,
that happiness is made of money, but not from songs,
that a star is merely a mote in our eye,
that the sea will suffice us and in a basin,
And it is the most important - that there were no barriers.
But we still wait under the sun and the rain,
And we sing our songs:
The ships will come for us,
Someone will invite us
to other side of this planet.
Good luck will send us the telegram!
