Premium MemberSmitten by Kitten Disinterest

never loved cat ways
their tail-flicking arrogance
their unasked-for gaze
my family longed for one —
I yielded, keeping distance

stray kitten arrived
they all fawned gushed over it
but the cat chose me
the least interested one
who shooed and shoved it away

smitten by kitten
my heart disinterested
lurched to beat retreat
we're inseparable now
the kitten has claimed my lap

Funeral

She left at the yawn of dawn
Between fog-densed waking hour
And rain-soused grey morning.
Veiled, her image was laced in silhouette.
She stood behind the fog-rain, a dark
Painting, sketched in black crayons of
Languor.
Her breath, one streak of ink
Of a satanic fresco on a dingy subway.
And the breath of the rain was heavy,
Brewed in hauteur -
So was the world between us two,
Lame and proscribed.
She wandered through flighty directions.
Grouches filled her lugubrious lungs,
Blotches on the sludged track, echoing
Her slouch.
She was one mass of trembling grief.
I was one hulk of ruinous pain.
Between us, the funeral of love.
Threnodies held court on the once soft
Yolk of hugs that sensitized an ageing
Romance.
Dawn darkened with the pulse of grief
Rain pelted the senses held by solemn
Consternations, recreating a fruitless
Void of hollow trepidations.
She lurched and sidled towards the
Crag-lined route, towards earth’s drooling
Beck... and I knew the funeral
Was over.

One Too Many

‘You’ve had one too many’
Declared old Paddy’s wife
She always spoiled his evenings
With her ‘trouble’ and her ‘strife’

‘I’m absolutely sober’
He replied with much aplomb
‘I’ve only had a couple
And I’m drinking beer, not rum’

‘I don’t care what you’re drinking,
You don’t know when to stop
I rue the day I married you
You useless, boozy sop’

‘Oh, hold your blather, Missus
Give that whinging voice a rest
The day you married me
I’ll have you know you got the best’

‘Got the best? Well I’ll be buggered
You really are a pain
I wish that you’d get off yer ass
And fix that broken windowpane’

Now at this Paddy got real pissed
And sat up in his chair
‘Don’t you talk to me of work!’
He said with wild-eyed glare

‘I’ve worked myself to death for you
But you only whinge and moan
I swear I’ll clobber you real good
If you keep on with that tone’

But she was unrepentant
And continued with her rant
On and on she chided him
With never ending cant

The last was one too many
For this much maligned hubby
So he lurched across the kitchen
And he hit her with his stubby!

there was a young man from Altoona
who went to the ocean to catch tuna
the boat lurched to starboard
he was flung overboard
and he met a shark that was out to catch humans

Unspoken Dance

In the schoolyard rain, you danced with delight,
A vision of joy in silver twilight.
From the bus window, I watched you leap,
Fearing to be judged as a creep.

Wanting to run, enjoy with you,
Once again terrified to screw.
Years passed, still the heart aches,
Why does this memory stays?

Drops on the glass were my tears,
Couldn’t approach even after so nears.
The bus engine lurched to life, a reluctant retreat,
Your figure grew smaller, the moment bittersweet.

Wishing to see you, once again in the rain,
But I know it’s all in vain.

Premium MemberAlcoholic

Lightheaded I ambled
towards the lonely pub.
Liquor helps sometimes you know.
It burns the mind,
empties it
of niggling thoughts,
of subtle yearnings,
of ambitious aspirations.

There she was
redhead and flushed.
A companion in distress.
We drank together,
confessed together,
envied together.

Time's up.
Outwards we lurched
hugging each other
towards the beach
where empty cabins
gave us respite.

Morning arrived.
She was not there.
Pity!
I knew not her name.
Might as well call her
whisky.

Didn'T See It Coming, Part V

...But as he tried to do all this,
to offer this victim his thanks,
he felt a sharp and sudden blow,
then instantly his world went blank…

The father’s heel struck on his spine,
just where it meets up with the brain,
the blow so hard it severed it,
Carson would never breath again.

His wife just hugged her crying kids,
the father looked on, in a haze,
“There’s crazies everywhere you look,
you just can’t escape them these days…”

His own nerves felt frazzled and worn,
and worry in his stomach lurched,
but cops would call it self-defense,
there were cameras there on the church.

Versions

Sorted in a cult, the moment you open your eyes
one of the many things you don’t choose
inclusion is what each one tries,
by learning the culture, customs and taboos.

Grow up with each other together
a while later, the innocence fades.
When each one finds themselves better
downhill humanity cascades.

They shout slogans and create unrest.
Bigoted minds an empty heads.
Only thought incepted the best,
to create disruption and hate that spreads.

Some minds are easier to influence
usually ones who don’t use their own.
When religions at core have no difference
each one sees, what versions they are shown.

If only ,humanity was often preached
And being religious meant being spiritual more.
We would keep at bay, evils that lurched
And create a world better than before.

The Sea Is Deep

Deep is the sea

A cook on a ship sat on a pollard drinking beer
when he got up, the ship lurched, and he fell overboard
He swam on his back, moving his arms slowly
thinking, if the meat he had taken from the freezer had thawed
He must have fallen half sleep when feeling the water
was swallowed, got up, waded ashore on a small island
Tired, he sat in the sand to sleep more until the sun burnt
his face (cooks have pale faces) and a land crab bit his toe.
Thirsty, he walked around the island and came upon
fishermen, frying red snappers; immediately, the cook felt
at home and said: “Good morning.”
Surprised at first, he told of his mishap, and they welcomed him
to eat and drink cold beer.
When the news, the cook was saved, reached the press, he didn’t
mind as few cooks ever get to be famous

Premium MemberYour Kingdom, My Life

I once lived in a realm
A kingdom as vast as an open farm
Wondering why I was offered a place so warm?
Sitting without a scepter, a head with no crown

I am just a humble servant
Not a king but one vagrant
I am honored to be an entrant
To be recognized as true servant

I have sailed many seas
Through the years lurched and subsist
Yours is the kingdom where I stand and exist
My life in your palm, so kind and so warm...
  I commend, not resist!

Premium MemberBetty Bunny and Her Best Beau

Betty Bunny was excited about the carnival
She was going with her favorite man Mr. Gall
She wore a pretty bow and her hair up high
Then he arrived in a red perky stiff bow tie

He asked if she wanted to ride the Ferris wheel.
She said yes and heard herself give a tiny squeal.
She wondered if he would kiss her at the top.
She shrieked when their car lurched to a stop.

Her handsome man put his arm around her and held her tight.
You look even more beautiful, in this lovely moonlight!
It was a day to remember, gorgeous, starry and pure.
She was thrilled to death, when he proposed to her.

Our Honourable Muhammad Saw

In dreams
i am always lurched by soothing zephyrs
across the lovely streets of Medina

   Searching thy footprints
     in the pious dust
     ya Rasool Allah(s.a.w).

Every night i sleep with a hope in heart
      to meet you
and in the morining i wake up broken and fragile
    Ya Rasool Allah(s.a.w)

In the chills of night
I search thy reflection of beauteous face
             in the moon
During day i kept on staring the sun
     Ya rasool Allah(s.a.w)

As i write thy exalted name
   with all emotions
My whole being dissolves in fragrance
  Ya rasool Allah(s.a.w)

My heart melts with thy remmembrance
and my soul feels heavy on your seperation
Searching thy light in the chambers of heart
     Ya rasool Allah(s.a.w)

You are the light of my eyes
    and joy of my heart
and i always hear your blessed name
         in my chest
   Ya rasool Allah(s.a.w)

Our Estuary

?? Written by Aamir
     ?? Written by Patricia

?? In search of mighty elixir
              I roam
  across the streets intoxicated,
            destroyed I whirl,
            destroyed I whirl.

?? In church,
I lurched forward to the altar for the lofty sagacity.
       A dome,
a gnome without name behind the tome,
abruptly a dove perched over its birch,
giving the stained smirch,
           deployed, I twirl,
           devoured, I swirl.

Premium MemberTrump Train Wreck

yesterday
watched men try to ride
in some graceful fashion
a flying, spinning, gyrating, horned beast
for eight seconds
probably should feel sorry
for the exploited beasts
but none of them grimaced in pain
and limped away cradling
an injured limb
however
there was this weird,
hornless, white as snow "thing"
lurched out, fell back on the chute,
reeled and tipped, almost falling,
then it bucked, finally
too late for any good
red flagged when he stumbled
out of the gate
that sorry freak of an animal
is half the rider's score
if he can't do his part
it's a re-ride (on something better)
correct for me
to pity that poor creature,
I know–but––really?
his name was Trump Train
I'm gonna go find an election prop
and bet all I can wager
his namesake
doesn't survive the primaries
Trump Train
yeah, right
more like
Trump Train Wreck

A Weapon of War

He finds himself among the dead,
the moving parts
of armored columns,
his hands are guns
his eyes are guns
his mind a weapon he points.

Drink raw vodka,
laugh and joke with the dead.
for they all saw the beast,

the clanking grinding machine
they lurched away to war within it
they know it,
it speaks to them behind their closed eyes.

"Courage comrades, steady,
we are the harvesting of death.
We have weaponized the dead"

hammered swords from shears,
for the Motherland.

He staggers away from himself,
smoke still fuming from the muzzle
of his hot mouth
while other’s step carefully over
his broken cadaver.
