Why pen,if one only is to be adored, for creating only
poetry, ethereal and planetary?

We live on earth so beset with misdeeds.
Should a poet dare write of these, and get poor reads??

Fairy tales,
and princes are indeed, in some of our dreams.
But we turn our backs on our country’s most wanted needs.

Like hunger, murder, or far worse, making our children,
into binaries.
Poetry is your chance, to be a shining luminary!

Luminary - Tanka 109

                                           Moor from Baltimore
                                           Planning urban areas
                                                   Curiosity
                                      Studying the stars at night
                                          Benjamin the erudite

Luminary Bella

On calfskin created, a beauty in youth!
A master’s creation, none can dispute!
Her auburn tresses and complexion fair!
Who created her image, who can declare?
Italian princess or cashier from Bolton?
Either way for me, the image is golden!
He can knock up a Moran in half of an hour?
And fool all the pros, even the most dour?
White lead was a tile, nicked from a roof?
An unlikely tale with no logic or proof!
So what do you think, the swiftest forgery?
Or really a princess, drawn by Da Vince?

Renoir touched my heart,
my eyes, my soul, sighing lips —
illumined brushstrokes

Renoir touché mon cœur,
mes yeux, mon âme, soupirant des lèvres -
coups de pinceau éclairés

The Luminary

Every hearts shines
Owning their luminaries
sometimes selfishly.

Luminary Presence

The winter’s moon, so bright with glow
It sits there in the sky
Upon the surface, is a face
Complete with nose and eyes
If you look close, you just may see
A man with broadened smile
That resides up there, watching us
Despite the many miles
He’s patient, there, so far above
As he takes in earthly view
Offering then his nighttime light
Meant for me and you
So, if by chance you one night see
The man there in the moon
Give him a wave to let him know
That you can see him too

Luminary Love

Oh come to me tonight to dance the night away
Take my hand my dear, come on it’s time to play
Let the twinkle of the stars be the guide for you and I
As arm in arm and hand in hand, together we will fly

The calling of the twilight casts spells upon us two
The luminary enjoyment brings light to me and you
As cascading shadows of dancing appear then, on the moon
We fly so high, breathe in the sky, while the twinkling plays the tune

Look not to earth below as that’s a sign of waking days
It’s here, right here, right now, that gives us loves displays
Just keep on reaching higher as each other then set free
Up here within each other’s arms is where we long to be
