Be Thou a Luminary

Why pen,if one only is to be adored,for creating only 
poetry, ethereal and planetary?

We live on earth so beset with misdeeds.
Should a poet dare write of these, and get poor reads??

Fairy tales,
and princes are indeed, in some of our dreams.
But we turn our backs on our country’s most wanted needs.

Like hunger, murder, or far worse, making our children, 
into binaries.
Poetry is your chance, to be a shining luminary!

There was a show on radio in Chicago long ago, called “Let’s Pretend”. There are generations who will follow us, pretending.. Todays propoganda hides all truth. This is worldwide. Headed for WWIII. I know in my country, censorship of reality is growing bigger and bigger. That’s how the Nazis gained power and killed many..Propaganda. Thus I want to save this country. Poetry is a place our government leaves alone but I doubt for long. They are changing books like Willy Wonka and Winnie the Pooh, so they will not offend anyone, Sorry, I do not get them. Pangie
