"Marry me," the spider said to the flea.
Don't you find it cute to live on my web?
No, I will never forget your blather.
On your bedside, my brother in your deb.

You asked for a snack, left me, and be back.
Suddenly, you began weaving your neb.
Wrapped in a silk cage, promise not to age.
Until your last breath rematches the ebb.

What did you expect? Didn't you yet elect?
I'd act the same manner I did before.
You gasp, those deeds. Stay on the web with me.
to handle a minuscule bite and more.

Here lies the prob, no aim to let you sob.
because wedding you seem to be reckless.
The goal of a smooth life isn't a fool strife
In an auld silken entangle speckless.

Don't argue to love less, be deep and guess.
Your brother was so tasty, as a nap.
What have you just done? a fresh web you've spun!
She grinned as she closed the remaining gap.

I got so close this time

Some days I’m living in panic
Panic like I cannot move
Panic like there are hot metal chains
 wrapped tightly around my ribs
Trying to talk feels like breathing in smoke
On the verge of tears
And all I want is to curl up and cry
Until my eyes turn red
But I can’t because
I’m in school
And everyone will see how much
Of a fool I am
So I have to look like I’m ok
But I’m not
Because later that night
That night of the panic attack,
I got so close
I even made a plan
I planned to cut in groups of three
Cuz three is my comfort number
That day I chose 27 cuts
Because nine times three
Nine times I lacked the comfort I craved
I remember it distinctly
Nine times three
Cuz nine times I felt hurt that day
One I was in trouble, two I got yelled at,
Three I woke up late, four,I was called rude for talking
Five I’m so immature, six, I had extra chores,
Seven I couldn’t eat lunch, eight Alex hates me
And nine I hate myself and I don’t matter anymore
When I went to bed that night I was so scared
 because I got so close to SH
I got so close this time

Premium Member Penetration Privileges

Like God amassing gifts of gold and frankincense and myrrh,
vain potentates, possessed by pride that riches will confer,
depleted pillaged villages in pagan days of old…
With penetration privileges, their fortunes were foretold.

In feudal times, chaste clerics, cloaked, wrapped rings around the mind
with hymns of magic, mystic myths and figurines enshrined,
while blessing bayonet-like blades that mutilate and maim…
With penetration privileges, believers bore no blame.

In search of caramel colonies, some sailors set their sails
to conquer puppet provinces, for sovereignty prevails,
purloining wicked treasure troves which others claimed their own…
With penetration privileges, such sins sustained the throne.

Well, nowadays the quest proceeds, this time for ebon oil,
so peoples once again are caught within the serpent’s coil
and, pierced by fangs of greed and lust, death yields benign escape…
With penetration privileges, you’re free to rip and rape.

We wave the flags and beat the drums and often kneel to pray
to glorify our victories, bold, that happen far away;
but none salute the severed souls impaled upon a pike…
With penetration privileges, the riffraff look alike.

One day the moguls won’t agree on how to slice the pie;
they’ll spit and spat and, tit-for-tat, atomic barbs will fly -
but when the button’s finally pressed, they too will grace the heap…
With penetration privileges, the hole that’s hewn is deep.

V E Day

That wonderful day in forty-five
Which made me feel glad to be alive
Returning home from across the sea
A chance meeting between you and me

Festivities raging in full swing
The feelings that living again will bring
I Looked across the crowded street
Saw someone looking Oh so sweet

In your uniform the nurses had worn
Slightly dirty, slightly torn
A lovely smile the captivated
Any man who would have waited

For your return to homely shores
That special person who soon would be yours
I did not know it would be me
All that beauty I could see

I smiled at you and dropped my pack
It made you laugh and look back
I plucked up courage just to try and see
If you would come for a drink with me

To my surprise you answered yes
From that moment on I would never guess
That love would smoulder for a while
I thought that you would run a mile

We danced the evening away until the dawning
At the Pallais Ballroom then in the morning
I took you home, not far away
And hoped I would see you another day

Next evening celebrations were still going strong
You would have thought that there had been nothing wrong
Least of all a six year war
That razed our county to the core

The rubble that used to be our street
Now flattened like a bedroom sheet
But no one cared no more wartime noise
Just people trying to regain prewar poise

Our first kiss I remember well
And it felt kinds swell
Your eyes were closed so I closed mine
Our arms wrapped tightly, it felt fine

You looked radiant despite the dust
I was shattered but felt I must
Keep you close away from harm
It must have been my magnetic charm

Not long later, a few dates more
I asked the question and I felt sure
You would say yes, which is what you did reply
We hugged and kissed which surprised a few people passing bye

I put the ring on your finger
And we named the day we did not linger
Married three months later to the day
You first smiled at me when you came my way.

After fifty years we are still together
It just proves that love can last forever
I still smile and laugh as I remember that day
When a beautiful angel came my way.

Difficulties

it's hard to hate someone
you've held in your arms
someone you've kept warm
someone who's feed at your breast
someone who day by day you dressed

it's hard to hate someone you've feed
or for that someone
bedtime stories you have read
someone you've brought joy
with a little dolly or a toy
it's hard to hate when you
remember the joy

it's hard to hate someone
who's arms wrapped around your leg
that made crayola pictures of mom and dad
it's hard to hate what we once had
even though the out come is sad
but over all the love that drives me mad
is the one thing i have
that forever makes me glad

Premium Member Pink Joy

~~~ To Royal and Ezzelle~~~
              with congratulations
              Pink Joy
When I was six months pregnant
I knew a girl it would be.
They did no ultrasounds then,
it was just a feeling, you see.
I bought a wicker bassinette,
white and frilly pink.
So sure that it would be a girl.
My hubby didn't know what to think.
The second that I heard her cry
I said " Is she okay?"
knowing it would be a girl
before the doctor had a chance to say.
So wrapped in a pink blanket
they handed me my little one.
Within two minutes hubby changed his mind,
no longer wanting a son.
Within a day he had forgotten
that he actually wanted a boy
and you'd have thought it was his idea
to have this pink bundle of joy.
One More Day
Then while I held you
The world felt just right
Our twin hearts beating
Wrapped round you at night
You’d filled all the holes
That burst in my soul
Slow spreading like glue
Until I felt whole
I loved what my life was
With you by my side
Content overwhelmed me
My lonely had died
Dear God won’t you gift me
One more perfect day
This heart wrenching sadness
Can’t go on in this way
Please take my own soul
Is this what you must do
Pain brittles my bones
This can't be my truth
Please just one more chance
To hold him at night
To feel his heart beat
To make my world right
Dear God … please grant me
JUST one more day
One last … I love you
Take my tears away
Premium Member Bountiful Starlight
Bountiful starlight reverbs with echoes
that fade but hold a bit of that drumfire.
Raising that whimsical smile even higher,
electric shadows cast a glow on your toes.
A sound you can’t place in the real world,
music that was bestowed from the Fey.
You wake and long to be whisked away
on a comet’s tail both pearled and curled.
High dollar melody delicately bouncing
like a wrist wrapped in celestial jewelry.
With a gaze at the sky’s rippling gallery,
three coin tossed wishes and counting.
Diamonds are on a roll hard as a rock,
playing your high hopes with sure strokes.
As if you really need any kind of a coax,
forever a girl in love with sidewalk chalk.
April Is the Month Persephone Comes Back
April is the month Persephone comes back
from Tartarus, crossing the river of death, Styx,
with her stillborn child in her breast. The river she crosses with
her child though flows while carrying the empty souls, it does not move.
The river she crosses for the sake of her child though ferries the dead on the boat, it shows no emotion.
April is the month Persephone comes back
to this side of the pool of memory holding dead child in her breast.
For the curse of seven unripe pomegranate seeds became Hades’ chain, Persephone, who spent long and shivering cold winter months
in the bosom of an unloved husband at Tartarus, comes back turning her relieved, yet deep anxious face, away from the bright sunlight shining on the other side of black poplars forest.
April is the month Persephone, the childless mother,
comes back as a rancorous sad lullaby, while soothing
her swollen breasts with sighs, holding her stillborn child
closely on her tight breast to let the child suck her teat.
April is the month Persephone mourning in the black chiton
comes back as a well of tears. Each time she advances,
she cries because it is so pitiful for her to realize
that the child in her arms is breathless.
Each time she steps forward, she cries because it is so woeful
for her to acknowledge that the child in her arms is soulless.
April is the month the barren woman, Persephone,
who lived in the netherworld to experience such a miserable life
during the dark and long shivering winter months, comes back
with the stillborn child wrapped in the quilt, woven with yarns
spun from the threads of sighs as she warp of resentment,
and yarns spun from the threads of tears as the woof of grudge,
in her feeble weary arms.
Premium Member How True Love Adores
You walked forlorn, waned in winter wasteland.
If you’re wrapped by warm arms of azure sea,
enter my enthralled heart holding my hand,
you’ll find love, not lost in obscurity.
You’ll see silver moon set the sky aglow.
When the sunburst dawn will bloom to allure,
dew drop spectra will dance in your meadow.
That’s when you’ll feel the touch of love so pure.
After yearning trail in dregs of dream ends,
rush of ripped passion your heart will endure,
float on tunes of joy, fervent music blends.
That’s how you’ll perceive you’re in love for sure.
If in my garden you open heart’s doors,
you’ll find in flowers how true love adores.
