One More Day
Then while I held you
The world felt just right
Our twin hearts beating
Wrapped round you at night
You’d filled all the holes
That burst in my soul
Slow spreading like glue
Until I felt whole
I loved what my life was
With you by my side
Content overwhelmed me
My lonely had died
Dear God won’t you gift me
One more perfect day
This heart wrenching sadness
Can’t go on in this way
Please take my own soul
Is this what you must do
Pain brittles my bones
This can't be my truth
Please just one more chance
To hold him at night
To feel his heart beat
To make my world right
Dear God … please grant me
JUST one more day
One last … I love you
Take my tears away
