Difficulties

it's hard to hate someone you've held in your arms someone you've kept warm someone who's feed at your breast someone who day by day you dressed it's hard to hate someone you've feed or for that someone bedtime stories you have read someone you've brought joy with a little dolly or a toy it's hard to hate when you remember the joy it's hard to hate someone who's arms wrapped around your leg that made crayola pictures of mom and dad it's hard to hate what we once had even though the out come is sad but over all the love that drives me mad is the one thing i have that forever makes me glad

This is beautiful, John. I hear the sadness in these words but also love mixed with it. I love the last line! Great write, John! Love, Robin

This is so profound but brings back unpleasant memories past. I am so sorry you were abused. It is a painful memory and certainly not easy to forget. But we have to forgive and move on, as challenging as it may seem.Do not allow bitterness to hold you back.Best wishes and God's blessings.

Amazing piece, John! Love does conquer other feelings...and 'forever makes you glad'. I suppose it's a pure emotion, whereas hate is a bi-product of other things? Frustration, anger, hurt... Very touching, and definitely a mind probe. I truly hope that you have a fun and beautiful Christmas! Wishing the best to you and yours...God bless!! Mikki :)

This is a painful poem to read....because your love comes through in spite of the difficulties of this relationship. Yes....we can love and hate at the same time...the human condition makes it so. Well written John. ~ Carrie

John I didn't mean for that poem to be offensive or make you angry. It has nothing to do with men getting hurt. My poem wasn't at all literal. What I mean by my poem is that someone who really wants me, who really loves me, would go through anything just to be with me, not wimp out when things get tough, when our hearts get broken and bruised, but to pull through it together. I think I deserve that. By the way this was a beautiful write, I could tell this came straight from your heart.Continued
