Love is an emotion that can’t be seen
It’s not of a stoplight so you can’t wait till the light turns green
There is good and bad love and even some in between
Love has no limit and can never be wiped clean
Strongest feeling that lies in our soul
Ye must know with each drive you must pay a toll
No matter how far you drive ye can still wind up in a hole
Ye heart you stole
So finding love is not an ultimate goal
Losing your love in the cold breeze it will blow
Even though it’s still with you as you try to let it go
Ye must just let love flow
After ye feel the power it has ye shall never be below
Have thy faith so thou feelings will only grow
Something we take for granted and says to soon
That’s why most of the time our love ends up in the sky like a lost balloon
We can hope and pray for love but let’s face it life is not that of a cartoon
Ye can sit and wish on a star or star at the moon
Or ye can take action for thyself and make your own personal tune
Living life with the one who means the most
Overcoming the obstacles we shall share and becoming one
Venturing out and exploring not thy heart by thy partner soul
Everyday respecting the other one and not just playing a role
That is the meaning of love which to most people is blind
Because small minded and selfish to them love has already been defined
Thinking the way you do will only leave you a step behind
So if ye not knoweth thy true meaning then leave it undefined
Because one day you will have a contract of love that must be signed
It’s not the same as an I like you
Because we all know half the people that say that aren’t true
It’s not the same as you mean the world to me
Because you still don’t have thy ultimate key
It’s not the same as I miss you
Cause thou can say that while you are sleeping with your other boo
So don’t take love light
If thy do ye wont be able to sleep at night
So until ye know what it truly means then stay on the ground and don’t take flight
Just wait for that light to shine on you ever so bright
When you’re standing across from the one you truly love in black or white

I finally came home.
I did not win fully free, not yet;
but the lights by which I roam
are closer to where my roots are set.
Before leaving, I had to say farewell
to those there who kept me strong.
When cruel circumstances upon me fell,
they're the reason I strayed from wrong.
Endless examples of good I could give,
and seems endless seas between us now lie;
I am content to, during dark times, the good relive,
and not belabor what seemed a perfect goodbye.
Suffice to say such kindness as that, their spark,
exists in few you'll meet in a life, and few times.
But to call oneself friends with those who bear that mark?
That lies beyond even the greatest of wordsmith's rhymes.
And now to reach my goal, two years emergent,
orchestrating a touch early my autumn return;
I find old memories and friendships resurgent,
remembrance and joy that I strove to earn.
To lie on my back with the dog right by,
looking up at the heavens' ever-expansive dish.
To see a shooting star streak across the sky,
and realize only one thing more could I wish.
They say you can never get back what used to be,
can never truly be who you once were;
sitting across the street from what I used to see,
I feel the familiar, past me in me stir.
Seeing the ever changing, ever same rain,
in front of the house that saw me a man.
Looking at the tree I climbed to dull my pain,
the thought of more of such, from which I ran.
I wish now I hadn't, I wish now I'd stayed,
and for a little while longer, for that I pay;
my wish on a star, while under them I laid,
that here in the rain, here, home, I could stay.
In the eyes of those I regret so dearly running to,
saying such is one of my many unforgivable crimes.
To know that not to them, but to that inimitable spark, I remain true?
Such must be the source of the greatest of wordsmith's rhymes.
It’s a warm afternoon in the spring,
And I’ve got plans for you.
So put on that beautiful blue sundress,
And meet me downtown by 2.
I’ll play by your rules,
I’ll do everything right.
Just tell me in my ear,
That you’ll hold me tonight.
I’ve been thinking of you all day,
And I’d love to take you out.
I want to show you that my love,
Is real, without a doubt.
We’ll walk holding hands,
And have lunch at our favorite place.
I’ll even take you to the bar upstairs,
Our favorite hiding place.
I’ve always been the stubborn one,
Never taking anyone’s advice,
But in this case, I’ll let it all go…
Just to hear say you’ll hold me tonight.
I’ve waited to see you all day long,
My heart has been skipping beats.
The feeling of your kiss,
My, my, my…. How soft and sweet.
So, wrap me in your arms when you see me,
Hold me close to you and don’t let go.
Tell me that I belong to you,
And watch as my love for you grows.
The sun begins to set,
Pull me close and hold me tight.
I’ve cancelled all my plans for you.
I want to be next to you tonight.
We’ll sip wine at home,
And snuggle close by the burning fire,
Being in your arms like this,
Is my one true desire.
And when you kiss me once again….
You send me straight to paradise,
The feeling of your love is so delight…
I want you to hold me close tonight.
Don’t let me go….
Even if I try and fight….
Just whisper in my ears “Be still….”
“And let me hold you tonight.”
Oh, my God, the thought of this…
It makes me yearn for you even more….
I’ve never had a love like this before.
I made a wish on a star,
Hoping it comes true with all my might,
So if you see me getting a little edgy,
Just whisper in my ear….
“Let me hold you tonight.”
I know very little.
I don't know a lot. Too be exact, I know very little. Sure, I understand math, science, and all the other basics. I may be able to read the Twilight series in 3 days. I may be able to write poetry, short stories, and essays. But I know very little. I don't know why stars exist. I don't know how to cook a pancake. I don't know what the atomic numbers are to the elements on a periodic table. I don't know when the world ends. I don't know how many thoughts I have in my head. And all of this is just the beginning.
I know how to smile, but not how I do it. I know there is a God, but I don't know how long he has existed. I know I love dinosaurs, but I don't know how they turned into turtles or an armidillo. I know I bleed, but I don't know what blood is made of. I know that I'm supposed to wish on a star, but I don't know why I wish to the moon instead. I don't know why I blow a kiss to it afterwards. I know why it rains, but I don't know if it is just water or angel tears. I know when it rains I'm supposed to hide, but I don't know why I stand in it. I don't know why I believe if a raindrop lands on your lips, it means that someone wishes to kiss you. I don't know why I have no enemies. I don't know why all my problems disappear when I'm in his arms, but I know I love him for than I have loved anyone or anything.
But there is one thing I'm fully sure about. Without a doubt, and that is.......I know very little.
Last night,
As I stared up at the sky,
Stars glistening, stirring hope within,
Breaking through the silence,
Erasing all the doubt, the shadows
Waning as the little lights
Twinkled, fading in and out –
Freeing my dreams, my feelings
Emotions breathing creativity
Last night,
The glimmer of starlight above me,
Wishes started to caress my smile,
Yearnings – deep and alive inside,
Where the fantasy, the desire…
Burned like a blazing fire,
Illuminating my heart, my soul
With dreams so alive they blistered
My feelings with vision, pulsating
Faith, freedom – fulfillment
Last night,
I stared up at the sky,
Wishing on a star as it sparkled,
Glowing across the night,
Heavy with beauty and soothing
Away every fear, comforting
As it shone, brighter than the moon,
Trembling with joy – inviting
My heart to believe in the dream,
To wish – like a child who is
Caught up with certainty, so willing
To remember that the stars, themselves
Are His miracles, His gifts…
Last night,
I wished on a star and now…
The beauty of that moment reminds
Me that the truth is far more
Beautiful than any fantasy, any dream
The truth is that my wish came true
The moment that I gave my heart to you
Once a little goat with a small horn,
Wanted to become a unicorn,
She wished and she wished every night
And prayed and prayed, it might
Come true, I want to wish on a star,
So the next night they saw one far,
But although so bright
Gave off little light.
Look mummy at that grass over there,
Please don’t stare,
For they might run away, fairies
Right next to the bush with berries
I’m going to send them a whisper
Mummy kissed her, ooh your whisker
Tickles mummy, suddenly three
Fairies flew by her side what do you
Wish for most, as you are of the few
That never asks, whatever you wish,
I want to be a unicorn, please
They waved their wands with ease,
There stood the prettiest pink unicorn,
Gone was the small horn,
Replaced by a twirly one,
The little goat girl now an awesome unicorn,
Her star sign remained Capricorn.
She had a fluffy mane
And her eyes were blue, insane.
Oh fairies I love you so much
Your wands and their magic touch,
What can I do for you.
and you and you,
Listen to your parents and be a good girl,
And thus your mane will always curl!

Spend time in prayer, in scripture, in God’s presence – every day, rain or shine, because this is the time I shall forever treasure!
Plant a flower, a tree, a smile… a seed of hope, faith or love – nourish it with kindness, compassion and light from the One who created us all!
Lift a heart, a burden or darkness – with a song, a poem, a heartfelt thanks for the one who knows that the best gifts come from above and are brought alive by the power of love!
Wish on a star or throw a penny into a fountain overflowing with the wishes of those gone on before you, little reminders that we all take pleasure in the dreams that inspire our hearts to believe!
Share a silent moment, a gesture of charity, a feeling or word or deed, intended to give the recipient a sincere feeling of joy and wonder that shine from the soul who knows that God is the giver of every good and perfect gift, especially those given from the spirit of love that abides on hearts who sincerely deliver the brilliance of compassionate grace!

There are differences in what I have seen
Just in the way some are
But, after all the smoke has been blown away
Some are nice and some are mean
Some go to the top, some don't get that far
Some say a lot, some don't have much to say
Some drive fancy cars, others like to walk
The finest clothes some wear, some just what is clean
Macy's for some, a few go to Wal Mart
High powered speeches for some, others coffee shop talk
Some are heavy on the scales, some are lean
But most in one way or another have a heart
Some the Stock Market, Farmer's Market for some
Diamonds, gold for the rich, some just a wedding band
Money is the dividing line there
Some will take it all, others will just take it as it will come
Some will stab you in the back, others will shake your hand
Some wish on a star, some still believe in prayer
Some dwell in the city, others out in the country
Some don't even know where they are
Some are serious, others full of jokes
Some are into themselves, think about "just me"
Then some won't travel unless in a fancy car
People are people and folks are folks

This is for the the daughter of our own poetess, Kathy.
The Kyrielle Sonnet is a French form from the Middle Ages. It has 14 lines (three
rhyming quatrains and a non-rhyming couplet). It has a repeating line or phrase
as a refrain in the last line of each stanza. Each line within the Kyrielle Sonnet
has eight syllables. There are times when a French poem links back to the
poem’s beginning; therefore, a common practice is to combine the first line of
the first quatrain and the refrain in each quatrain as the ending couplet for the
poem.
