Under a sky of forgetting, a red apple whispers unwritten tales,
Under the serpent's gaze, the secret spreads like a canvas of dreams,
The fruit, like a bittersweet paradox, hides a fatal game,
In the dance of shadows, promises weave into a ritual.
The bright red of the apple is like a fire consuming silence,
Honeyed whispers flow in the night, promising liberation,
The serpent coils like a thought that knows no end,
Tempting with illusions that ensnare the wandering soul.
Its ebony gaze penetrates like an unknown shiver,
Like a cat losing one of its lives of old,
Light dresses in shadows, and willpower yields with a sigh,
When unseen power kneels a pure soul.
The awakening is an echo of a dream that always repeats,
The garden, the serpent, and the tree are ghosts in an ancient tale,
Drenched in sweat, the memory of the lost dream drowns,
Her olive-green gaze brings the peace of a kiss.
In the contrast of times, reality breaks in two,
His hand gets lost in her hair, black as a new night,
An enigmatic smile guides hopes through the mist,
Questions arise from answers that remain secretly kept.
In the end, the cold revelation pierces like a lucid thought:
The dream is but a shadow of what we think we know,
In the labyrinth of knowledge, we lose and find ourselves again,
And in the waking sleep of life, truth is a wandering dream.
Leftover Willpower
David J Walker
I know
I know
What I said last night
After the last bite of
Turkey and dressing and
Cranberry sauce and
Pumpkin pie
That I
Would never eat again
At least, not this much
So much
That it stretched my belly to
New dimensions forcing me to
Unbutton the waistband of my
Khaki dress slacks
I know
I know
How good it all was
and yet how
Bad for me at the same time
And how I fell asleep in the
Recliner watching reruns of
“It’s a Wonderful Life”
And the morning after
When I cannot think of putting
Any more food in my mouth
Somewhere in the back of my head
Hatches a plan for later
Sliders
Maybe one
Reheated roll with
Turkey and dressing and
Cranberry sauce
Small Sliders
Maybe two
Just two
No more
But surely not three
Would you think it profane to
Curse the names of every Pilgrim
Who landed on Plymouth Rock?
The bane of my weakening
Leftover willpower
IT’s ALL THEIR FAULT!
Words sometimes fail
To bring across the emotion felt
When the comforting carpet
Is pulled out from under you
How did things get to this point?
How did I not see this coming?
Filtering through are the particles
When the confusion has subsided
You are still here,
That must be a sign
Of your willpower
Of your ability to look beyond
The ties that were broken
Time for you to be a little selfish
Sometimes things have a premature end
But we keep on holding on
Only to realize, what you treasured
Was exactly what you needed in that space
During that particular time
It’s time to move on,
To other things
Just our hearts are sometimes little slow
In grasping what our minds are trying to tell us...
We need to acknowledge our minds has an opinion too

That irresistible heartthrob is me;
who has a smile more charming than me?
I can love anyone so passionately
and give a girl anything she wants;
if she asks me for a single star,
I'll give her the entire universe.
If she asks me to play a song on the guitar,
I'll play a beautiful piano symphony!
Most of the guys despise me
for being the symbol of sexuality;
they have everything, but they can't be me!
Ah! they get mad when girls flock to me,
yes, irresistible heartthrob...
you're unique in all you do and say;
yes, irresistible heartthrob...
you have the willpower and they'll obey!
That irresistible heartthrob is me,
I can always rely on my good looks
and with them, I can charm any girl;
is there any other guy like me?
I won't release any girl until she admits
I was the best she ever had!
That irresistible heartthrob is me;
I am very lucky to have it all!

As if in a decades long
somnambulant trance
for majority of years
I finally awoke,
three score minus
one orbitz tracked 'round el sol
by this human drone,
a custom made incognito
stitched while in utero
yeah... my birthday suit mask
disguised this bloke
yet plainly visible, aye donned
a permanent cloak
always fitted me skin
tight easily permitting
ingress and egress okey doak
majority of mein kempf
ambivalent about (no...no...no...
despised) self as
apathetic behavior did evoke,
yet slip out from
under the Harris tweed,
Scottish door Matt,
parental tender caring folk
now, such indifference,
whether dead or alive,
tummy this thinking haint write
especially nearing quotidian,
the terminus twilight
of existential parabola
fifty nine submucous cleft palate
nasal note more'n slight
chalked up to biochemically, right
hermetically, and neurologically quite,
though not profoundly disabled,
a riddled quirky
psycho-social plight,
(cultivating an unhealthy
absent self esteem inferior complex)
I exhibited half
hearted feeble feints
to muster willpower morning till night
oft times nobody home,
and nary boot faint light
doth shine on me
(feeling comfortably numb),
a puny white knight er
rather pawn on chess
board of life with 20/20 insight
while standing at a paltry
just shy of seventy
two inches in height
shortchanging latitudinal longitudinal
maximum parameters to attain
but more critically, detrimentally,
emotionally constitutes current bane
analogous to Atlas
hold the world
did more than force him to crane
his neck, but imposed
a global estuarial drain
as all the seven seas underwent
gravitational pull that's
the best aye can explain
oh...but such fiction a mythological sling
shot across the bow civilization
the metaphorical resonance
pertains to me, and doth ring
real asper millstone over bearing
worth repeating here,
no matter mentioned in previous poems
bitterness of mine despairingly cathartically airing.
Shocked and shattered on betrayal.
Sank in nasty dreadful dismal.
Environ became surreal,
as my love was true and loyal.
Continuously tears to flow
Didn’t know, how tears-flow to slow.
Darkness in life to embower.
Dropped and dried all abloom flowers
Curses from my fate to shower
Each second seemed to be an hour.
No glimpse of light even to glow.
Confused what to do, where to go ?
On my mind lost any control.
Tried my best at least to console
my grief stricken serene soul.
At last willpower took vital role
Also Time acted being best healer.
" The darkened sky stole my tears."
New Year Change
Kevin Davis, 2025)
Each year we promise to overhaul life,
Become better humans, improved and refined.
We’ll drop a few pounds, quit smoking—or try—
Join a gym we’ll attend while the mood’s still high.
We buy shiny planners we’ll never complete,
Sneakers engineered to remind us of guilt.
We meal-prep salads, determined and brave—
Then reward our commitment with fries on a plate.
By mid-January (give or take a day),
Our willpower fades and the couch has its say:
“You’re perfect already—why struggle or strive?
Sit down. Relax. Let’s binge Season Five.”
So this new year, when drafting resolutions,
Remember: real change ignores quick solutions.
To alter your habits, begin with your mind—
And stop trusting fitness apps… especially mine.
The journey feels so tedious
It was a battle for the choice
A free will he gave to them
They had to choose between serving him and otherwise
Believe me if I say,
There have exist more than one red earth
Three civilizations, three men; walked the surface of this aeon
But only one is acceptable before HIS face
Every other will have to fade away
Beautiful lastborn with abode from the MASTER………..
For the innocent man;
Oh how beautiful it is
An image of the ALL IN ALL
Such a Wonderful creation with the power of free will
Its npt just about being wonderful
The one with the possessor of three forms
Maybe he had be warned
Imagine I AM telling you to do not…
He can do a lot in his constituency
All is impossible to stay like this
A crossroad lie ahead
Transaction and Chess ………………………………
Now to the sinful one,
Authority is now lost
Specie after the likeness of the fall
Evil continual grows in his heart
HE repented
Strange princes and beings of light left their estate
To come Into Fair falling flimsy daughters of Eve
Another violation of the creations HE had in the WORD
HE removed the world of its evil
The only one who choose to hear a gone nature
As oppose to the Spirit that can show HIM FORTH
Beings of this kind keep living
Even till HIS KIMGDOM COMES,
All that’s is left of the kind of This is judgment
Door of GRACE HIMSELF………..
The righteous one is now available
On the agony of death and suffering
HIM; he be in now.
The real meaning if what is called love
Higher calling, higher sitting
Of course I’m of the TRUTH, the WAY and the LIFE
Sound the trumpet that HE cometh soon
Are you the man after His Heart?
Freewill; not a product to use against HIM
Strive for the eternal registration in the BOOK.
Where will you be?
When the roll is call up yonder!!!
My heart and mind don't align
I yearn for dreams to yield but vegetate
Putting off things for the very next day
My willpower is always at its lowest
Laziness floods my habits and goals
Until I drown in unsuccess.
The bed, so invitingly soft
It tempts me into a languid slumber
While a half-finished coffee mug
Sits cold on my window sill
My mobile phone, a dangerous distraction
As I scroll hours through social media when awake
Squandering my precious time away
My mind keeps dwelling on the past
Inundating memories of joy, sorrow and regrets
Serving no purpose
Then I slid into an eternity of pleasant thoughts
Of how to spend the next day of my life.
