Riding a roller coaster
Propelled by life’s velocity
Governed by instincts and thought
Driven by an urge to emerge victorious
Sentience deadened to conscience
Flitting thus from desire to desire
We built an imaginary script
Of narrow ego identity

Some conquests won
We saw not unshed tears
Of mute weaker souls wasted
Owing to our callous, feral savagery
Likewise, we encountered defeat
Whereupon we steadied heart
Resolving to rise once again
Imagining ego as the doer

Our face in the mirror
Reflected pride and conceit
Beggars too began looking away
Recognising our cold, hard countenance
So it chanced to pass that by grace
One day we chose to look within
Shocked to see soul shrivelled
Lonely in our bleeding heart

We stopped the flow of time
Frozen for what seemed eternity
Crying out silently into the vast void
Wishing to be healed and feel complete
A divine voice instantly responded
Asking if our resolve was strong
To walk the talk as affirmed
In thought, word and deed

The path simple and direct
Liken it to a hop-on hop-off bus
We hop off the ego bus and choose love
Shifting consciousness from head to heart
Voice of conscience grew stronger
We dwelt not on material gain
Shifting into mindfulness
A stillness continuum

Yet love that is imbibed
Takes time for assimilation
But what matters time any more
To the one who has since vaporised
In timeless time ensconced in bliss
Empowered by a magnetic pulse
Which we may give any name
Kundalini or The Holy Spirit

Baptised in the stream
Twice born, we yet lived on
Our soul within, one with oneness
Seeing now earth life as but a lucid dream
Wherein we are being breathed by God
As He does for all sentient life forms
To fulfil our soul’s smallest wish
Now aligned with love alone

Now we do honestly confess
We know not what scriptures say
All we affirm from our life experience
Is that once we align with God’s love impulse
For each step we take, He leaps forward
Gathering us in His warm embrace
Lighting the lamp of love within
Darkness then is no more

"The Queen's Slippers - Part 2"

There goes my heart
with bags packed
no turning back
or final wave
seated hooded next to huntsman
innocent, gauche, temperamental
There will come a time
to save,
but save oneself
on this dark road,
one must -
There will come a time
to talk,
but walk the talk
on this dark road by oneself
‘tis the True Lesson,
to Win-Win,
one must.

A gold wedding ring
A delicate diamante crucifix
An open heart
Some words inscribed
Latin to remember
casually tossed aside
Sterling Silver
broken in seconds
That is the past
Life now beckons.
Lost. Much later. Lost.
A Soothsayer sees –
A Soothsayer knows.
A Soothsayer has walked
the same Road.

Bluebird's and Cuckoo's nests
glittery material things
carrots dangled by withered carrion minds;
True wealth are the hidden maps
buried in the Lost Forrest of Time.

There is an owl it perches
on my heart
digs it’s talons in like
nine inch nails piercing
it softly hoots, too diabolical
for screeching

The Owl slowly turns it’s eyes
towards the Reader
a silent voyeur trespassing on the kill,
it digs it’s talons in sharper
blood flows claret stained
drop by drop
into the Poison Chalice, again,
blood flows warm and free
it’s pumping with life yet, see?
Soon, too soon it will come
tomorrows are never guaranteed.

Above it’s right talon a sterling silver anklet
it holds life in balance, still,
Warm with life
Cold with death
The fine line drawn between
Imperious over lifeblood’s flow

Inscribed, in font Gothic,
The Owl’s name is POE

Gently, the writer places the hood over POE’s eyes and kisses the top of his head. Our writer, dear reader, brings out her Queen’s Slippers. Hearts are in her mind, she’s playing “NO TRUMPS”.

Get a Lfe

Under the shadow
Of your past mistakes, you live
And the way you perceive
Life is itself a deceive
For there is more to life
Than occupying space and time
You think you live life to the fullest
But you are the most clueless
And blindest

Get a life

You pursue happiness
But you don’t see the pass through
Because you must carry it with you
Like a guitar
For happiness cannot be pursued
Like information perused
Or like a child amused
 It must ensue
Not like the life
You intend to live up to
Traded by living
Someone else’s opinion of you
Like many times they have told you
You amount to nothing
And even though you are always bluffing
To be bravely bold
You seem like you need to be consoled
For you grumble, get angry
Eat too much, drive too fast
Your life is caught up
Like fish gills in a net
And frankly while others feel the rain
You just get wet
You don’t even know the difference
That is why you have resigned to exist
Instead of living
You don’t know the strategy to exit
Or the quickest escape
While friends tell you that you are in shape
You wish they could strip naked the truth
Or undrape the reality

That you are but a walking corpse
And every day that goes
It gets worse

Get a life

You say marriage
Was your greatest achievement
Because it guaranteed you sex
But even dummies marry
And one of them happens to be your ex
Now what?
You don’t understand
What has brought your marriage to a sweet end?
Or perhaps by moving on
You have begun to understand
And that doesn’t make you under achiever

Get a life

Not a rifle
To end your own life
For your mind is tainted
With to-do lists
Shame you don’t know
Which one you should do first at least?
So, you weaken your thinking
With the drinking
Thinking the stress would go away
But instead, you let stay
Of misery
And so good plans
That you make go astray

Get a life

Someone once said
Aspire to inspire before you retire
And I say
Inquire before you set it on fire
Forget the past and hang out with the yet-to-come
Just like love
Life too is not just a common noun
It is also a verb
And if Mario got one
You should too
So, walk the talk
Get a life

T.ito, thirty- years ago you left us
with painful hearts and tearful eyes
too young to leave your loved-ones
we mourn on your early demise

I.n the core of your heart and mind
there's hatred and sentiments
there were times you want to shed blood
but you were hindered by reverence of God

T.ito, I still remember when we were young
You accompanied me in visiting my " someone "
You don't want me to be walking alone
untoward incident might happen on my way home

O.bdurate you are in your determination
since we we're young I saw that in your conviction
bringing into your grave that disturbing emotion
letting God help you in your anxiety and apprehension.

T.ito, you're the man who walk the talk
You're a man with a Solomonic wisdom
A paragon and pride of your family
We miss you so much my baby brother

U.ltimate request before you left this life
God will reinstate you in the church of Christ
I sent to the Administration your plea and cry
with God's inspiration, the appeal was granted,
considered done.

" G.o on in praying to the Father
to provide you more courage of conviction
that happen what may in this of world of gloom
We will go on serving Him until the Day of Doom

A.ffter death, life everlasting is waiting
for us in the New Jerusalem in heaven
our sacrifices will never be in vain
we will meet our parents there again.

F.edelity to God is what our parents embed
in our minds and hearts since we were kids
this we brought till we grew up
loving and defending the church against all odds

F.irst and foremost is our relationship with God
poetry writing was your " first love "
elementary grades when you started " making lines "
that makes the family proud.

J.olly and jocund fellow you are
jovial among friends and loved-ones
university instructor and scholar
Sunday school teacher at one time.

R.elentless and indefatigable in your struggle for education
though you lack material things to pursue your aspiration
believing that education will uplift your condition
and to make your dreams a realization. “

Time For 'Enough'

Are we not tired yet?
When will we feel it is time?
Time to put our feet firmly on the ground
Call ‘enough’ boldly by its name
See -
We stand proud under the sun’s daring heat
Unmoved by the rain’s beating-
Like sheep we follow convoys of our shepherds
90% of all that time-
‘Voices with echoes of complains and blames is all we perceive –
Thrown from this camp to another
Not solutions backed by actions
And all we do is acclaim by cheers and standing ovations
To statements that represent anything but unity
Anything but development utterances

Are we not tired yet?
When will we feel it is time?
Time to put our feet firmly on the ground
Call ‘enough’ boldly by its name
See –
We don’t need the opposition or the official
For disunity but not unity are the results many a times
We don’t need one keeping check on the other
Rather see one and all coming together
To not only talk the talk
And not only walk the walk
But to talk and walk the talk and walk hand in hand
For the common good

Are we not tired yet?
When will we feel it is time?
Time to put our feet firmly on the ground
Call ‘enough’ boldly by its name
See –
We don’t need taking sides
But standing side by side
For the times we’ve done so, a bitter pill it’s been
North, south, east, west-
The centre is where we all are
Our tribes, our religions and cultures are the genes-
That give birth to us Kenya

It is time to put our feet firmly on the ground
Call ‘enough’ boldly by its name
Our situation can be a win-win
For our country is much bigger than our bruised egos
And deserving more than the verbal insults we like to share
Or the physical beatings we’ve turned on each other
Let our fight be for each other and not against each other
Our leadership ‘now’ be emulation for better regimes in future
Leaders we need you undivided-
Fellow 'wenyenchi', we need us undivided
For a people that are divided are a struggling lot
And we’ve been a testimony to this gospel
It is time for enough.

Religious Warfare

Hopeless beings walk in reckless sin
Seek and search for a place of eternal
cling,
We flock houses of worship
But instead we engage in some spiritual
War-Ship
Instead of seeking the fathers Lordship,
Our outward appearance may seem so
pleasant
Our verbal prowess and mastered
philosophy may seem to appease
But in our Hearts do we walk the talk..??
In our walks and trod
In our thoughts and mind
In our sight so blind
Do we share the same codes of
brotherhood
That was embedded in the one we
Follow?
Or do we see ourselves better or more
upright??
It is a running nation
I guess that’s why everyday we are on a
race
To see who is superior in the eyes of
men
Yet we are all equal in the eyes of the
Almighty
Growth: Socially, spiritually,
economically, physically, mentally
All should be used for his Glory in his
acceptance,
Not as a boasting ground for proud soul.
Every face on this earth was placed in its
place
With the power and God’s grace.
The divisive messages we have today
The false doctrines that lead us astray
The perverse nature and acceptance of
negativity
Cause so much grief,
It even makes us question our belief.
It comes a time so harsh I call it- Reality
Check.
God is searching for few people to
anoint
For a greater mission he shall appoint.
Search your soul and cleanse your mind.
Live according to his will
Because in his image and likeness you
are created
Don’t seek human verdicts about you- no
matter how spiritual or religious it
sounds.
You are chosen!
Let not your dreams and abilities be
frozen- by men!
Keep on pressing and mind not who you
are impressing.
Struggle for God not men-
Men have always been mortal and
determine not our status.
Stand up and grasp your portion.
God loves all and is not a respecter of
men
Walk this talk and accept everyone in
this walk.
I am not worthy………….

If Only I Could Rewrite the Stars- Christen Kuikoua

If by chance I could relive my life
I will make more mistakes
will relax and be more sillier
Prasing every second of my life
than what has been so far in this journey of mine
I would have tolerated more,
took more chances and face challenges
Would have travel the world
and finally, yes, spent more time with my family
Maybe eating more ice cream and avoiding unnecessary drama
yes! focusing on real troubles
Then having fewer imaginary ones

If only I could do it again
I will travel lighter and go to more dances
perhaps spending time with nature God's Creation
picking more daisies

You know this life is a mystery
As we tend to grow old,
we have all our mistakes
unfolding in front of our own eyes like a movie
and we are just left with a phrase >
I believe that God didn't create us
to merely achieve name, fame, and power
For I want to believe there is something deeper
Our standard of life will measure our lives
Never of living conditions

We are not here to just entertain ourselves
with social media and doing robotic routines
To scroll up and down like a Robot
 feeding our mind junk food,
rotting these marvelous brains the creator gave us.
We literally invented the most powerful tool
on the face of the earth,
to spread hatred on twitter and Instagram
literally building the most advanced computer known to man
and using it only to watch YouTube pranks

So let's change that
and make it our mission to walk the talk
Because there is a difference between a life well achieved
then a life fill with regrets
Remember, it doesn't matter,
the amount of money you stored
for as a matter of fact,
you are not taking it with you on the other side
So live your life to be happy
to have no regrets and finally to serve God your Creator

FOREVER IS OUR PRAYER

When petals climb to reach their swell
they ray a hue 'neath the sun's spell
so are the hearts that rise to quell
wings of love fluttering yell

Twenty-four seven we walk the talk
no dull moments left there to float
Distance crossed our joyful tears touched
pushing our smile to rush to ace flash

Love's peak: its urgency we don't wanna let go
Falling, falling deeply in love is what we show
nights young where at the gazebo, you hold my gaze
let alone my lips you confine so chaste

The heavens aegis with twinkling stars
they suddenly deliver some liquid pour
Unmindful of such, we amble round
chirping crickets hum our background sound

Scents of lavender hover the room air
as there and then you hold my hips for a floor dance
Night gone old but our holds began their mould
Upon hills and caves we clamour to surrender

Beats and breathing leaps and pounds like a drum
Ah! Even the lazy moon strum his guitar
Us twine like the ivy fall softly on sheets
Sharing a flood of sweats and sweets

Sad, there is two years and more we need to hurdle
but this better than never taking the risk
Wired and wind, us, we vow for more than ten days
as forever together we crave in our prayers.

A Gun For a Gain

 A GuN FoR A GAIN

I have a gun to stun ambitiously armed
Aimed at my success

My possession to access
The hidden treasure to my pleasure
Given to me without measure

All I need is composure less pressure
More confidence to show case my talent at present

The issue is very pertinent to my contribution in society and the world at large

I acknowledge the challenge is huge

But winners don't quit
Am fit and able
My mind is credible

Available for the battle
My epistle is my pistol
A tool i possess a weapon I never knew I had

Sad, almost suppressed but now revived and aiming so high

The target is clear I will give it a shot

In short , to write a book
Announcing my presence for the audience of every generation

That is my intention as I raise my hands to the heavens in supplication

For a mind so powerful and handful

Lord thank you for this mind so sound

I will use it to explore and implore the world to the awesomeness of your goodness

Your greatness is overwhelming
Welcoming at all times
In all terms

I will walk the talk as I speak your words of greatness in gratitude to your work in my life!
Given onto me without a fee

Fill me with humility as i climb the ladder without a shudder to my achievement

Now and forever!

Love Letter Vision

Woke up madd early
Madd at the world
Got damn Lil birdie
Herd a sheep acting worried
Corridors never close
Middle of the night
Lock the door
Murmurous in dead
Fashion
They just acting
I'm burning blunts
Like I'm learning
Turning around

That concerns me
Dirty little secrets
Appealing misleading
Wrong reason why some people are leaving
Needless to say

Is she gorgeous ?
Surreal background battlefield
Like an origin you better be down with it
Orange is the new black

Get some chicks to hook
Some more fish
To hook some more chick's
I must say temptations a *****!
I'm In a minimal agenda
Me and this description have a thing
I want the whole world to roll
Sunorous waves to the mind state
Dazzling like meth to a fean
Against all odds
Walk the talk
My cock all in the open
Like an elephants in the room
Looking gorgeous
Arcane Hah I'm just joking
This mk ima hit with an ak
Try and make me a clone ill burn your lab in flames

Write your name on the line
Cuz all i can do
shake my head at this vision
