Sombrero In Space

The word sombrero in Spanish was made
from Late Latin origin, meaning shade.
Predating Mexican type of headwear
that’s commonly presupposed, instead they’re

more generally hats designed with brim.
Therefore the galaxy’s wide-ranging rim,
through pareidolia’s visual drift
causing our human perception to shift,

gave it to stargazers sombrero guise
as seen in Virgo’s sidereal skies.
Hence nickname ‘Sombrero’ has taken hold
with globular clustered stars in its fold

which swarm quite abundantly ‘round the core.
Its technical tag is M One O Four
From Earth we perceive it almost edge-on,
a factor inducing some to hedge on

whether the galaxy, like Milky Way,
is spiral or has an elliptic splay
or might be a hybrid blending the two,
a question left hanging from earthly view.

It’s said to be fifty thousand light-years
across, roughly thirty million from spheres
where we dwell, with ten times as many groups
of star clusters globular as the troops

in Milky Way’s multitudinous realms—
such grandeur galactic indeed o’erwhelms—
which orbit in circular halo’s verge.
Aye myriad worlds for life to emerge!

Dust lanes birthing stars about it are wed,
ringed paths poetic for dreamers to tread.
A white dwarf companion perhaps may be
midst all the clusters of huge stellar spree.

If wonders abound in this ‘hat’ on high,
how many more lie beyond earthly eye?
While one must not lose sight of doings here,
someday human antics will disappear.

When miseries render our stance downcast
why not gaze above at the cosmos vast
whose infinite fathomlessness steadfast
shall troublesome worries ever outlast?

Image and info ~ Hubble mosaic of the majestic Sombrero Galaxy…

Image explanation ~ NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope has its eye on the Sombrero galaxy, Messier 104 (M104), which has a white, bulbous core encircled by the thick dust lanes comprising the spiral structure of the galaxy. As seen from Earth, the galaxy is tilted nearly edge-on. This galaxy was named the Sombrero because of its resemblance to the Mexican hat. It lies at the southern edge of the rich Virgo cluster of galaxies and is one of the most massive objects in that group, equivalent to 800 billion suns. The galaxy is 50,000 light-years across and is located 30 million light-years from Earth.

Arrogance

Arrogance
Wandered brood of Adam,
lost, bewildered people,
hear what I have to say.

Stop for a moment before the mountains
and for the simple sake of awe
be humbled, let your tears fall.

Look to, look through the air above,
be moved by the sight of stars,
watch their bodies wheel.

Ask the thunder, see what lightning says,
the rain-bearing wind which blows
the good grey cloud, ask them.

The camel's old keen for her calf,
be hushed and hear it, hear how
the birds' song weeps with it: weep with them too.

How the sea sounds out its old chorus,
what moves in its abyssal womb:
acknowledge these and what they mean.

Examine the earth at your feet,
the rush of the rivers,
raise your eyes to the clouds.

Glimpse what lies above
the auroral mist, the winds,
understand what these things have to say.

The scent of wild acacia -
inhale it, relish it, and
delight in the green of pastures.

Count up the lineage of all life,
mark the endless days and days:
this worthless arrogance of yours,
you have to let it go.

All nebulae and galaxies,
the Camel of the Southern Cross,
our own burning sun, who said these
were lit for humankind?

Before a man was made in this world
didn't Virgo blaze above?
Aren't all those gatherings of stars
far older than us?
Since when was their high light
kindled only for you?

Exactly when do you think the heavens
were told to carry out the order
‘Confine yourselves to the human race'?
If you simply ceased to be
wouldn't their light continue?
Wouldn't it be then as it is now?

Wandered brood of Adam,
your bluster is a lie.
You shared this womb with all
wild things that roam,
all roots that flourish,
you entered this world together.

All creation is your cousin,
each creature your equal
and you share an ancestor:
all living things are to you
as stick is to bark, bark to stick.
You and they are like two eyes -
when one sheds tears
the other weeps.
They were not made for you alone,
nor were they created to serve.

Of everything which is, half is secret -
however things appear
the meaning is always deeper

Saying Goodbye to a Former Friend

After a long time, I have finally felt the need to let you go!
It was rather hard to see you after so many years!
You claimed that you fell in love with me!
Well, your chances were used up!

When we were in high school you rejected me for the prom!
When my family had a birthday dinner for me, with my cousins attending, you did not show interest in me
Those cousins thought we were one
Before I graduated from undergrad you would always speak about a metaphorical boyfriend
I took that as gospel and decided to leave

Last year was depressing
I dated a racist who was jealous of others
My friend finally had the chance to have happiness after living in six years of narcissistic hell with a fool that did not respect her
I feel deeply pained by my friend’s sorrow, as I regard her as a sister that I do not get to speak with as much
You came to me in a indirect manner
You claimed that you had a friend who died and that he was the only one to treat you as a special person
I never saw a picture of him or posts of him on your page.
Was it a fantasy?

We hung out and had fun with music and dinner
I did not feel any love for you
after the concerts were over you would only reach weeks later.
You were not by my side when I needed you the most.

I spoke of your posts, and you mentioned that you would have more if we hung out more.
Well, where are all of your other pictures of you and your previous mates.
You lied to me on multiple occasions!
As a Virgo, I hate it when people lie to me, it makes me question everything they told me.
The biggest lie you told me was the first one, and that was when you stated that your mom told you that you couldn’t go to prom
With your mum’s communication skills, she would have informed me herself!
YOU’RE A LIAR 1321

When I asked of your future, you gave me an answer that made me realized you were not the one for me!
Be a custodian for the child whose messes you’ll have to clean as you behave in a childish manner
My heart and mind are not meant for a person that only wants the bridge to be built for them.
I do not have love for you.
Goodbye 1321 as I am removing you from my life.
Vafanculo!

Over a Coarse of Time

Seems I’ve reminisced
The feel
Of a home cooked meal
Ducking the pleasures
Of a sainted veil
A clause in the end
From which finer things appeal
Black jack matches not
To a fisher mans luck
On an antique reel
But on the real
The expectations in this life
Remain a comfort
That refuses to chill
Let your thoughts rest
On an old lads chest
Considering the circumstances
If we make it
We can all attest
And adore this political mess
If not then as victims of stress
Unblessed in this planet
Of slanted chess
We’ll confess

Another night
Another days passes
Do you find it lovely
How nothing ever last
But many men have cured
Their fascination
Of becoming non minute men
Flawed by incarceration
Deep within the dungeons
Of a softer conscience
In irregular form
A veteran lies victim
Of defeated white blood cells
Unresponsive
A child with no home
And swollen tonsils
The dark settles
Flashbacks meddle
Trouble around the corner
As a lunch line unveils
Never was a fighter
Just a swinger
As I found myself catapulted against
The cafeteria wall
The integrity
My sucker punch instilled
Broken glass jaws
Over a 4th grade meal
Or mainly just an individual
Twice the size of me
With an inability to feel
I sat still
As the principal sought
A stern punishment
Not as astonished with
The other kids compliments
For my stomach ache
From a lack of warm condiments

Moral of the story is
I was fighting then
I’m still fighting now
Obstacles tend to ware me down
The inexperience of my peers
Seem to no longer enlighten me now
Have to find new ways to learn
Or disappear into the unclear
Fatigued as a writer
Tend to want to touch on subjects
Closer to lighter
Symptoms of a September baby
A Virgo born of a harlot
With nine children unknown
A none buffalo soldier
A phantom on a Harley
The ghost of Robert Marley
An astronaut in my younger years
Screaming for Apollo thirteen
As the thunder neared
Off my coarse of inspiration
I veered

The Consolation of Israel Start

( Concern for National Israel )

God decreed a covenant; a covenant of works,
on Sinai He gave it to man:
Obey the Law, from it righteousness draw,
- be saved by it if you can.

We labored and cried, and from it we tried,
to earn our favor with God.
We strained and strived, in failure we sighed,
- and felt the disfavor of His rod.

After many years through sorrow and tears,
we discovered our nature too foul.
Our confidence gone, we moved out alone,
- ran to an idol named Baal.

He too, was severe, filled us with fear;
demanded our children to take.
This was for naught, no righteousness it brought,
- so him, we too, did forsake.

On return to our land, we dealt with a man,
many people worship as Deity.
He taught mercy and grace; withstood us to face,
- was nailed to a Roman tree.

After the dispersion of all, denying Adam's fall,
our leaders placed our trust in man.
Utopia to build, by the strength of our will,
- find satisfaction in life as we can.

Doomed to fail, we made a Humanist hell,
with torture as never before.
Workers paradise gone, its doctrine all wrong,
- salvation's not there anymore.

Some men claim, to our “perceived” shame,
that Messiah was the one crucified.
They're common folk, without credentials of note,
- and are quiet easily stupefied.

Surely we, the learned, can readily discern,
by reasoned, scholarly analysee.
We're not easily fooled, as a general rule,
- and we have an historic pedigree.

Yet, if Abraham’s promised seed, was singular indeed,
reason demands Messiah be that too.
Then, our Zionist claim, to National Messianic fame,
- is just another fanciful bugaboo.

Should we look anew at him whom we slew,
determine if his claims could have merit:
The Prophets shed light on a Messiah in type;
- shall we see if the scriptures declare it?

In the Genesis of old, a wonderful story is told,
of a singular birth - miraculous.
The woman’s seed (Virgo), a virgin shall conceive,
- calling him Immanuel (God with us)

My soul and my destiny were written in the stars,
on the moon and on the planets that aligned
on the day and the very hour and minute
I was born.

As a child I wondered why I was the way I was.
Why I liked to be alone, reading, always reading,
Why I did not feel I had to follow
what many other kids did “just because.”
Or why I was so very conscientious,
unwavering in habits and routines I dearly loved.
Why did my life destiny veer so unexpectedly
to include a second pathway -
one of relishing the many things in life
I find so fun!
And why is the shy Virgo self of my childhood
able now to be so outgoing?
Why am I so open
with nearly everyone I meet?
I feel myself to be completely authentic,
and I love that about myself.

I stumbled onto astrology and later – numerology
when I was in my teens.
It explained a lot about me
and also about others in my life.
Thinking back, I should have taken it more seriously!
Understanding relationships has so much to do
with understanding others’ charts as well.

All my life, I understood myself so very well.
Although to really know myself,
I did not need the chart or numbers -
it’s in being able to explain the “why”
of all the different parts of myself
that has given me a way to make my good friends realize
why they and I share such strong connections.

In college I took pyschological evaluations.
They supported what the Zodiac and numbers
said about me too.
Even the colors I am drawn to
are bright and happy like the sunshine.
What little melancholy is in me
I owe to my September birth,
for when that time draws nigh
I see the sunlight fading in the sky
and I become a bit more prone
to sigh. . .

The Birth of Jesus and Mary

( fact research)

The birth,of legends discovered after the 21 century
Would of never been known after all these years
Or is it just me.
Research are great like a Egyptian discovery.
Digging for truth and history of legends
#1 Jesus was Born in December 25 they say
Which makes him a Capricorn and not no other.
He was crucified year's after and resurrect they claim in Easter.
He died for 3 days 3 nights on a Friday at 3pm.Rose on a Sunday not to far from my birthday
in few days.
The thieves that died with him.they names were Dimas and Gestas you figure out the rest from there.
#2 Mary Magdalene celebration feast of her is July 22nd, born September 8th
Which makes her a Cancer or virgo and not no other
Became pregnant between the age of 12/14yrs old.
Her life became tragic after the birth of her son Jesus
And ended in great depression for her and every thing in her
life changing.
Deceived by many of they surroundings, sometimes it's hard to know who your true friends are
My father is a Capricorn as well indeed he is which makes me wonder do he have a heart of Jesus or who's heart does he have is he the devil. For I was abused by him all my life. And he try to be a thief to everything I achieve in life and his thief companions.
And of course my mother is a Aquarius and a Scorpio sister who likes to compete with me about my own life. But this is not the Olympic.
For a men that's careless about his children like my mother
Why is it a problem to live my life providing for myself what he was refused to do.
I think my parents mentality is completely twisted.
This discovery of Jesus and mary is great and will never end. Now I know they play.
for this is just the beginning displaying of what was done back then

Premium Member I Am Virgo

I AM VIRGO

Remember the girl at the
Convent who started
The peanut butter strike
Because she thought it was right?
Remember in dual heritage
Where, this now woman mentions
That her British side is
Somewhat obstinate?
Well if I am of dual decent,
I am two Virgo’s in one,
That makes up the sum
Of me!
And almost always,
These two Virgos
Never agree!
They clash,
And are both brash,
I step back
Waiting for them
To work it out,
Just now they will come
To blows and one will
Knock the other out!
The Greek gets heated,
And the English,
Sometimes defeated,
And then it’s repeated,
Until both, feel depleted.
I have a splitting headache,
For they are always present
I tell them to stop,
This is my life,
I am the Virgo wife ,
And will be until I die,
So behave and please
Don’t make me cry!
Can’t face untidiness around,
As I am bound
To take strain,
If I see dust or a small stain.
But my poetry corner
Is quite another thing,
That is where I have an
Absolute bling fling!
I don’t suffer fools lightly
Says the Greek Virgo,
But tell them politely,
Says the English Virgo!
There they are again
In my head,
I’m treading a fine line,
To keep them in this rhyme!
I Love to keep a warm,
Loving home,
I am a caring mother and wife
Who always carry’s her phone.
I feel fiercely, about everything,
It’s just my way, I
Emphatically insist that the family,
All have an equal say!
Both English and Greek Virgos
Agree with this,
And hug and give each
Other a kiss.
The Greek Virgo sings,
Love must be felt from the start,
And the English one adds,
Like a spear piercing your heart,
Wonderful, we finally agree,
that I am both a
Greek and English Virgo,
Which is the total sum of me!

Dear Virgo

Dear Virgo.
They ask you why you stand in the morning sun for so long,
to which you reply “It feels like a daylight loon singing her mournful song."
They ask you why you watch the birds fly,
and your response is simple, “they can fly higher than I.”
They ask you why you stop to feel the breeze,
you say that it is an opportunity that you must seize.
They ask you why you flow with the river tides,
but that’s the one thing that you take with pride.
Dear Virgo,
You kiss the day with love and devotion,
like fish who swim in the vast, wide ocean.
You ponder of thoughts only you can see,
while others panic and decide to flee.
Maybe there are times, where you can’t think clearly,
but you hold those times as lessons so dearly.
Sometimes you can’t feel your brain,
But other times, you strike, leaving all competition slain.
Your soul can be cold,
a frozen tundra of breath taking gold.
Yet you warm the hearts of many,
Taking the breath of millions, leaving them for any.
Dear Virgo,
You touch the glaciers with your feet,
You wait for the mountains and snow caps to meet.
You watch and observe the deep green pines,
You sit and stare at their twisting vines.
You dance by the fire, bare feet padding the ground in sacred desire,
You watch the molten snowflakes twirl around you in a tragic misfire.
You let your arms lank around the sand as you frolic on the beach,
You let the sun ripen your cheeks like a farm-valley peach.
Dear Virgo,
You are not chaos,
or hate
or misery
or gluttony.
You are not anxiety,
or perfection
or overcritical
or fussy
You are not what they tell you.
You are not what they think they see.
Dear Virgo,
You are so much more than that to me.
