'Twas the night before Christmas and impeachment was in the air
Trump kept tweeting that it was unfair
The truth had come out, but he continued to lie
But Moscow Mitch assured him that victory was nigh
But then Pence started to grin
Hoping for the moment when he would be sworn in
Somehow he knew that the Prez was a crook
Who never did anything by the book
Giuliani the grinch was the Christmas 'hit man'
So Trump gave the order and Christmas was banned
They arrested Santa and read him his rights
So Santa was grounded unable to take flight
Then Trump decided to break away
So he took off on Santa's sleigh
He rode around Washington saying Ho ho ho
Telling everyone No quid pro quo!

big plans to relocate self and spouse
to some tropical island paradise
by the dashboard light
(the above line credited
to musician named Meatloaf)
upon arrival of my steamer.
A fool's errand finds me emptying out billfold,
especially as the winnings increase ninefold.
Paradise visage and eyes a bulge with dollar signs
whets imagination with Mega Millions ticket bought
for potential wealth overtakes rational self
with delusions of grandeur caught
allow, enable and provide flirtation
with fate to experience rich draught
envision emancipation proclamation
from penury a distant battle fought
expect the usual outcome
after next drawing to yield monetary naught
temptation for instant millions eagerly sought
human foible to reach until life lesson taut
for elusive pot of riches
streak of universal desire
and tacked clear of shoals,
where hard scrapple existence wrought.
This poor man's pipe dream
nsync with the milkmaid and her pail
where fanciful notions pluck me out
being day late and dollar short
essentially pennilessness in the extreme

suitably with poetic third eye blind

garnering large sum of money

and extract idea from cranial rind
analogous how stitcher doth tightly wind
a tapestry of rich and royal hue
while twittering and tweeting
“better luck next time.”
A woman of great strength and resolve
Major accomplishments and successes
Defeats being nothing but hurdles
Following the 2009 presidential election
Hillary teamed up with President Obama
To make an impact on the political scene
She picked herself up her head held high
Turning the page… when came 2016
The people had spoken and Hillary
Attended Donald Trump’s inauguration
Tweeting "I'm here today to honor
Our democracy & its enduring values,
I will never stop believing
In our country & its future."
Hillary always will be a classy first lady!

FELICITY
Free Verse
When I met you, I thought I just met an ordinary lass
As I talked to you, I started to mesmerize
I was enthralled by the questions you asked
And the way you answered, I was indeed surprised.
You're the joy and happiness of your parents
With angelic beauty, you’re the apple of their eyes
A lei of beautiful fragrant yellow rose
That blooms in the garden of love.
Felicity, you're so cutesy
your manner is sociable, folksy
Intelligent girl, pride of the family
God's glory as you perform your duty.
“ Read today and lead tomorrow “.
“ The more you read, the more things you know
The more that you learn, the more places you'll go "
Read everyday and your knowledge will grow .
Continue to engage in poetry writing
Soliloquizing is palatable, like talking to an imaginary friend
Ask the chickadees why they go on tweeting and chirping
Conjure them to perch on your lap, talk and play with them.
Someday, you'll be the pride of the Church
Like your parents zealously serving the Lord
Trials of faith we face, as we travel in this world
But with courage and faith, finish your race with flying colors.
1001 steps to reach the apex
The road is arduous, difficult and steep
But with God’s help and faith in your heart
In your journey you will surely succeed.
May God continue to bestow unto you
Blessings and benevolence He will imbue
Bright future the Father will endow
Forever love and mercy, to you He will grant.
FELICITY, we will part ways someday
Remember that in this world, where we stay
you've met an old gray- haired man
By the name of grandpa ERNIE.
Dawn is the best time for watching frolicsome birds in my garden
Listening to their chirping, cooing, tweeting to each other,
My life seems fulfilled…although I know,
Everything is transient, we all are proceeding to the inevitable,
Only the path is different - for some of us, more difficult than others.
Birds don’t care if I am listening to their sweet melody,
They hop cheerfully from one branch to the other,
Squirrels, such adorable creatures, with grey coats on,
Scurry around in such an active pace
Pretending to be the busiest creature on earth!
The world seems content, the world is gorgeous,
Blue sky, white clouds, red roses, green grass - everything impeccable!
Do we need anything else to feel blessed!
Nature has a way of calming our souls,
Butterflies and bees - fluttering from plants to plants!
Pollinating, renewing, rejuvenating the universe!
Sun, brightening the whole world, majestic and sublime,
Stars twinkling and blinking in the dark canopy above us,
Shimmering moon shining amid millions of them,
Gazing at the unfathomable galaxy,
My eyes and my heart are mesmerized!
Love like you haven't loved before,
Live like every day is a true blessing -
Even if we know tomorrow may never come,
Seize the moment - beautiful, and baffling,
Mysterious yet magical, perplexing and fleeting,
Unkind time doesn’t wait for anyone!
Who am I! What’s in my future…
I leave those puzzling questions aside….
Staying peaceful, remaining content,
This incredible life is mine!
snow was falling, falling, falling
on the streets, on the houses, on everything
and the ground is now covered in a carpet of white
the trees are draped in snowy shawls
and the woods went from autumn to winter overnight
wild animals are snug and sleeping in their lairs
though hidden birds are still tweeting a song
and I am go for a walk all bundled up
with a bitter northern wind howling in my face
oh, it is cold, cold, cold ...
but, I am not afraid of winter
for I was born in a snowstorm
and have always had an affinity to snowflakes
and falling snow ... and to the frigid cold
of Canada

Fifth Place
Spring starts, with the drip, drip, of icicles:
as longer days of sunshine warm the air.
And as folks switch from cars to bicycles,
winter weather turns from freezing to fair.
Tulip, daffodil, and crocus bulbs sprout;
imbuing gardens with colorful inks.
And as life's resurrected, all about:
Spring's awash, in a sea of blues and pinks.
The first of the songbirds start tweeting tunes:
shortening the length of Winter's harsh rule.
And melting lakes echo the calls of lunes:
as ice-free waters flow, from cold to cool.
Red, yellow, violet, purple, and gold:
define Spring's palette as subtle, yet bold.
Here they come,
not one by one
but the majority out of reach
doubting reasons to impeach.
It's okay to have a bully president
tweeting nonsense, bias, wordings without precedent,
stroke his ego, praise his fool hearty words
watch the world cuts ties and turns away abhorred.
Think they do not see, they do not hear
follow blindly, claiming all is clear
while the other half appear -
staunch, determined, uncontrite without fear.
Wait on bills, hold decisions in the making
wave the flag, claim they are negotiating
is the economy and jobs enough
when debt increase is uncuffed?
Somewhere ignored in the in-between
a multitude of people remain unheard, unseen
asking for a little courage and honesty
just the facts, the truth in all this hypocrisy.
Yet no one in DC or media really listens
the voice of middle America is stilled and missing
while gun control and healthcare is just winded whistlings
of homelessness, immigration, civil action inattentive dismissing.
They say to let it go, count the votes in 2020
to be concealed by power and money;
who speaks for the average man, woman, and child
neither Senate nor representatives ever walk that mile!
They don’t get it, bunch of fools
Don’t they see how the media drools
Over each and every tweet
Crafted not to be discreet.
Are they blind to my great skill
Of bending media to my will,
Time and again I pull that trick,
And they fall over like a brick.
My strategy’s sublime there’s no denial
Prepped as a lawyer does for trial,
I make a case and sell it strong,
Daring them to call me wrong.
And once they do they’re in my trap
For all their energy I sap,
Each falling over like ten pins
To call out loud my litany of sins.
Oh dear God isn’t that great
How so easily they bait,
Puffed like Adders full of bluster
Regaling me with countless hours of laughter.
But with their faces ever redder
I’m invariably the header,
For my words to sing out loud,
To my all adoring crowd.
So on I go merrily tweeting
On a veritable shoestring,
The investment now all theirs
Fully answering my prayers.
I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately.
—Henry David Thoreau
In all his scheming, the wicked person arrogantly thinks,
“There’s no accountability, since there’s no God.”
—Psalm 10:4
Cat Woman in Vapid Dissolution
I ceased to hear the birds, not
because they aren’t there, but
the tweeting is on repeat.
I ceased to see the magnolias,
gardenias, and daffodils, fooled
by the rolling reels on repeat.
I ceased to see the glittering snow.
It has disappeared. It’s too late
for this year. I shovel serials.
I ceased to see kindness and mercy,
seated on the Almighty’s throne.
Basking in my goodness - worship me.
I ceased to be a human being; stronger
than that. I make the rules, don’t follow
yours; incompatible except with the cat.
I ceased to live my life; I bask in hers,
on the screen-scripture; I know nuances
of her lyrics, every curve, lingering gossip.
I ceased to be
I don’t care who I am
like the cat
