Nigeria My Motherland

Nigeria our great and beloved motherland,
where multitudes of tribes unitedly stand.
Our land of hope by two rivers divided,
with lush vegetation by nature provided.

Nigeria our home of people resilient.
A land of great icons in works diligent.
We hail thee our great and revered black nation,
our land of human dignity and redemption.

God arise and take your place as sovereign Lord.
Enthrone Thyself in Nigeria's seat of power.
Make her edicts and laws Thy eternal word.
Let justice prevail in her courts by the hour.

Our flag will peace and industry symbolize,
whilst our history will always immortalize
the deeds and sacrifices of our heroes past.
Help us Lord to serve our beloved land with zest.

Nigeria the blessed will pervasive peace know,
even when the threats of tumults seem to flow.
Her crops and yields will neighbouring countries nourish,
from her fields that inexhaustibly flourish.

Daily Enhancing Mindfulness

Discombobulation thunderously
torments, triumphs, tumults
courtesy deafening,
earsplitting, fracturing...
(think emotional bomb cyclone),
whereby unbearable mental anguish
rents psyche asunder

into bajillion pieces
singular recourse necessitates
invoking cerebral powers
to engender feeling
comfortably numb skull,
hence tried and true value accorded

transcendental meditation practice
offering absolutely zero choice
incumbent upon yours truly
to remedy cerebral chaos,
an unpleasant quotidian experience,
whenever yours truly

exits deep sleep
more potent and holistic solution
versus following pharmacological medications:
GLYCOPYRROLATE, TAB 2MG
CLOMIPRAMINE CAP 50MG
RISPERIDONE TAB 1MG
FLUOXETINE CAP 20MG
PRAZOSIN HCL CAP1MG
BUSPIRONE TAB 15MG
PRAMIPEXOLE TAB 1MG
CLONAZEPAM TAB 0.5MG
AMITIZA 24 MCG
(prescription laxative as needed)

the former closed eye process
to instill peace of mind,
plus elevating cosmic consciousness
allowing, enabling and providing

pronouncedly heightened awareness
acutely poignant insight
permeating throughout this body electric
calming, fanning, jumpstarting
vitally important discipline
in order for lifetime anxiety riddled

disabling affliction upends
potential to satiate existence
(oft times state of severe panic -
triggering chronic sweaty palms
extremely bothersome

induces suicidal ideation
i.e. opened arms death welcomed),
which onset regarding
ordinary agitated state
inchoate congenital malady
probably coalesced in utero

extremely intolerable,
especially incorporating socialization,
cuz no contra dance partner
(cue Irish jig and reel
musicians playing lively tunes)
favors grasping hand
analogous to wet dishrag.

The Love Rain

Floods of memories
The tumults, the peace
The pitter-patter on rooftops
The passion, in dollops
The continuous beat
Driving away the heat
The smell of rain
The overflowing drain
Emotions uncontrollable
The storms, the lull
Inside, her scent strong
Outside, Nature’s song
Past recreated
Once again, nothing hid
The gusty wind, the ferocious lashes
The crumpled sheets, all the messes
The thunder, the roar
The desire… ‘Want More’
The ebb, the flow,
As in each rendezvous so
The shiver, the quiver
From him to her
The sun pierces the fog
He rolls down, a log
The pleasure, the joy
Comes back the spirit of coy
The rains abate
And thus ends, the love date

You entered my home, as a new bride, snow-white embellished!
I was in my bride-groom-dress, looked royal and unblemished!
All so, due to crude cultures, where marriage is a system,
Where prestige and status overpowered love and wisdom!

Though, like expert psychologists, they knew your commitments,
They knew I loved another and under love commandments!
They dared to enchain us, as both were caste-color-creed-fit,
Though they were aware of our heart-soul-mind mountainous rift!

You chose an edge and I another on the king-size bed,
Neither you nor I dared imagine what's lying ahead;
Then like beasts, we met as copulation too was custom,
While your eyes and mine searching far for another bosom!

We exhibited joy before parents, in-laws, kith, and kin,
While, like tigers or lions, we wished to tear their flesh and skin!
We shed a foggy smile and, like darkness shut them up soon,
Milky full-moons fail to remind us of our honeymoon!

How romantic the feather-like freedom we once enjoyed!
Slaveries of customs and cultures played on us great fraud!
Should we, like dogs or donkeys, bear these burdens whole lifelong?
And crash the necks of kids with milestones of our sins for long?

Or give up these hates, cock-hen-fights, make-ups, and put-ups,
And tell the world! Damn! Go to hell! Let's not fake! Need break-ups!
Are hearts tightly chained by scrupulous habits called marriage?
Should such marriage - carriage, need to carry heavy baggage?

(Though less these days, arranged marriages based on caste and creed, against the wish of couples have been common in India. These bring tumults in their marital life)

Consumed

Nibbling at my toes,
whilst preparing my legs -
drilling through to the deepest of marrow within;
a burning consumes my body.
The old familiar monster returns
once more sinking its teeth
sharply into my ample buttocks;
whilst diligently slicing into my back,
delightfully and slowly the knife edge cuts
layer upon layer until reaching the hips.
Here a masterpiece he carves
from my bones, taking great care
to ensure each piece is etched.
Etched with deep precision,
no area left unscathed.
With fiery breath he burns,
breath sending me to feverish tumults.
Medication takes no effect
when in such dire need;
time to hit back with the monster of all,
the physician's big daddy
when all else is lost.
Time seems endless in this battle
to out sleigh this tyrant ,
when from nowhere peace instills
dreams as I float sedatively up from my body,
rising above all, sickly so;
slipping into subconscious sleep.
Barely aware, but not feeling the same,
as modern prescription takes its toll;
in helping me overcome a mother episode.
Helping give me recovery,
chance to calm,
be still and rest.
Ready to fight the great battle once more.

Premium Member Wandering the Road

Wandering the roads. It has me under a spell even at this juncture in my life.
Even when spiked brambles
scrape my eyelids or those tender foot soles are being twisted by tooth-like stones. Quaint and angular they cluster mischievously among
green shoots that litter every footpath.
They lie in wait, in ambush for the absent-minded unsuspecting venturer.
It goes with the territory for this seasoned footman of the road.
The labyrinthine landscapes are house and home to the spiral lanes and clover clad hills rife in my area.
Their rustic heritage now sacrifice to the
orphanage of a malleable environment
Crop farmers obsessed with harvest bounty.
Restless developer pushing limits of an urban jungle. Fellow traveller in league with those fugitives from the cockpit.
The pressure cooker of modern life. Town habitant with split loyalties who clings to tumults of the city but hankers after rural haunts of yore.
Culprits one and all.
A lair from the hubbub.
Dwellings of the strangest kind huddle together like dots in a matrix separated only by a minuscule space.
Their charm not yet eroded by intrusions of the steel plant genus.
Brick and mortar athletes of homes in a jiffy.
The more alluring aspects of tradition have been fostered and preserved.
Among these are the shortcuts or bypasses of a different more sustainable engagement
Sequestered passages that shave miles off perennial ramblers with a penchant for straying off course.
Saviours of the clueless hitchhiker whose load saps his or her every energy.
One’s eye becomes a lense to all these things hidden or supposedly hidden.
Optic sensor to those trails just slightly out of focus.
Those tucked away secret spots beloved of local wiseacres.
They festoon far flung countrysides at random. Here there and everywhere.

O ye senseless senses

Caught in turmoil of tumults five
That life faces from senses naive:
Deer, mesmerized by magic of sweet sound,
Tuskers, by titillating sexual heist,
Moths, maddened by the sight of fire around,
Fish, by meagre morsel of taste,
And bees beguiled by floral smell—
Why? Rings to me no causal bell,
Why are males consumed in sense-soaking spell?

Lost in music deer are often caught unaware by the hunter, elephants lost in the madness of mating, moths attracted by flares of fire, fish when bite the morsel in bate, and bees lured by flowery fragrance. Here is the transliteration of the Sanskrit verse:
Shabda aadibhih panchabhih eva pancha
       panchatvam apuh svagunaih nirbaddham |

       narah panchbhih ranchitah kim ||

SUNSHINE SMILES By James Edward Lee Sr.

When the tumults of pressures
Tornado reactions
God's got the problem solved in the darkness

Sunshine smiles

When the clouds group together
And there's no way around
God's got the problem solved in the darkness

Sunshine smiles

Toonami relationships, spun around encapsulating
Destroying and employing gravity falling earthquates
And when the perils and gloom hangs down and on

God's got the problem solved in the darkness

Sunshine smiles

Lightening ever so freitening
we only invite the light of God and He's calling
When the storms of darkness life got you covered
Pitch blackness holds you within it's grips
Become one with the light get out of denial, let
God's got the problem solved in the darkness

Sunshine smiles

Tribute dedication verse to Poetess "Sunshine Smile"

written by James Edward Lee Sr.

Napoleon's Nascent Love For Josephine

Give me a smile, that I may build on your assurance,
Kiss me, that I may have to thy kind heart entrance,
Love me less, and see how tumultuous life could be,
Give thy command, and see my loyalty to thee.

In thine absence, mine heart cannot from thee depart;
A moment's departure would rend my world apart.
I recall that very day I beheld thy face;
A lasting memory I will forever retrace.
That Sunday when thine eyes did my emotions disarm;
The day mine heart responded to thy Love's alarm,
The day you sat upon mine heart's epicentre,
To govern my feelings from their very centre.
Josephine my love, I bequeath my self-will to thee,
Let me thy world share, and make thine own tumults mine,
And come in to my own world, for all I have is thine.

In tumults of time and forgetfulness, in the hidden frenzy of a heart beating faintly,
Invoke the unseen magic, unravel silk works in the deep night,
Tame as a magus who dares, let fall veils of silence,
Breathe into the heavy air movements of shade, cloak thoughts with your watchful anticipation.
In the pale light that wards off unannounced storms, in the echoes of the chamber where echo is the sole presence,
Breathe with a grace that belongs to the weavings of dream, release dreams with each syllable,
Present the metanoia of the time steed, to crash into stone walls, to sing the thrill of a falling star,
Flick through your hand compendiums of souls, show me in intervals your flawless unfolding.
In a play of shadows and lights, master the fine art of remembrance,
Prefigure in smiles the fulcrum and temper of alchemy, in doses just enough to breathe poetry into me,
Like a weaver of the soul, forge my paths amidst beliefs and certainties spoken in the murmur of clear water,
Deliver my walls from clays and masks, consecrate battleground with your unpolished sincerity.
Not with illusions that once sparkled, but with the mystery that transverses your gaze, the torch that illuminates my inner darkness,
Weave with an artist's hands our story, with tones and gestures converted into icons,
In the fascination from chronicles of vigil, in the sweet toils of a heart catching the vigor of desire,
Set your noble trap, a stage set for the final act of promise,
Where you, within me, extend wings, initiate me in ceremonies of a new day,
Congeal enchantment, let me taste the morsel of infinity that you remain in words, until the last verse of the night.
