Eyes Look Your Last

He walks weary to his bed of ninety years
Down that lonely hallway that once was shared
Gone early she was at eighty four
Sweet Emma from his heart did adore
The hand of age brushes a kiss upon her face
Like so many times before when the day was long
He removes his wired rim glasses and yawns
Folded carefully and placed beside her photo on the nightstand
The linen is pulled to the side a pillow is fluffed
Slowly he sits on the edge and stares into space
Slippers removed one by one and placed just so
Before he lies between the sheets a distant call is heard
Gentle in the night the Loons sing their romantic song
The moon of silver reflects on the lake across the way
Shadows of Loons in love create ripples upon the water
This is his Golden Pond and strawberry patches
Together many a day he and Emma would walk for miles hand in hand
Stopping to smell the flowers and pick strawberries for jam
How well he remembers those days of yester year
But alas she is gone and alone he has walked the pathes alone
Shutting the window just enough to let a breeze flow
As he turns to shut the light for just one moment he believes
There Emma sits she pats the bed and calls to him sweetly Come
He clears his head then a tear drops as he whispers to himself
Alright Emma my sweet alright alright Im coming
Making his way to the bed he slides in slowly between the sheets
Leans over turns out the light and pulls the covers up
As he recalls Emma The bright moon light casts shadows
They are upon the walls and on the cieling over head
Silent creations produced by cars across the lake
Figures dancing about the room, shadowed in blues and grays
They trigger memories of dances in the church hall on saturday nights
Slowly his eyes close and he says this prayer every night
Lord my Savior this I ask
I wish to see my Sweet Emma just once more time
To be by her side and feel her warm hand in mine
If you see me fit to grant this wish
Happy I will be in her arms and to taste Sweet Emmas kiss once more
I thank Thee my heavenly father
Amen

Step with me into History
Step with me, to ‘Days of Yore’ Pageantry
Let Time and Mind, March Back Momentarily
Let Mist and Musings … Merge in Front of Thee …

… On Mare, or Mighty-Destrier … Ride Along with Me
In Rich-Carriage, or Hay Wagon … Come Along with Me
Thru The Forests … See The Hunters, Plying Falconry
Thru The Elms, See Caravan … of A Girl-Gypsy

Over Sunny Knoll, and Shady Dale … Onward We Journey
By, Merchant-Trade, Lo’!... We Made – A Medieval City !
… Now, Hear Drummers, Beat Cadence … Dramatically
Hark, The Trumpets, Blare Forth, Thunderously

… Hear A Herald Invite: “ Hear Ye’ - All Heraldry “
Come to The Ball; Lyre and Mandolin Pluck Persuasively
a Lone Flute, Floats a Tune … so Melodiously
Perchance … Join The Dance and Step Accordingly

Twirl and Whirl, Do A Bassa’ … then Bow and Curtsy
Forsooth, from the word ‘Court’, comes such ‘Courtesy’
And Tis’ Adamant, for Manners, Donned in Such Finery
Swirling in Silk Gowns, Vests and Veils with Embroidery

… Gemmed-Cloaks, Headdress and Hose, Bedecked in Luxury
bearing Crested-Medallions and Daggers: There is no Subtlety
amid Scented Candles, Flowered Columns and Alcove Settees
and Banquets, where Sweetmeats and Puddings were made Ready

… also Victuals of Venison, Fruits, Cheese, Wine and Meade Aplenty
for The Wayfarer and Time-Traveler, who Ventures Back With Me …
And Now … may Troubadour … Spin A Tale, So Precisely
Aye … May Bard, Weave Thee Well, into This Tapestry …

                                    Chorus:

Sweet Wine On My Lips … Drip In Ecstasy
Sweet Touch On My Hips … Smooth as Warm Honey
Sweet Love of My Soul … Last An Eternity
Sweetheart, Be Thou Bold … In Bravery …
… and if Sweet Talk, Be A Token … and Language Be Spoken …
… Be Legendary … Be Thou Legendary

Love's Sweet Remembrance

Love's Sweet Remembrance
                    by Amy Swanson (c) 2007

Tenderness...

               longing...

                              for your touch

Eternity...

         of waiting...

                             to embrace

Other half of my spirit

soul's mate

I feel you in my heart

                        I think of you...

                                         (memories)

... and I know that you remember too.

            I feel your thoughts
for we are two of one

Separated for but
                a moment's lifetime
                               a day's forever...

you are the song I sing.

Flowing love...
     gentle heart...
           soul's touch...
                  passion's warmth.

I did not forget.

I could not forget.

                   In my heart

                                    all life long

                                               soul's song

                                                           spirit's kiss

gentle on the lips of my memory

fiery in the depths of my soul

you are my eternal love -

someday we will be reunited.

Til then, I will hold you

                            always...

                              in love's sweet remembrance.

The Ghost On the Stage

The Ghost on the stage, blinded by rage.
We all burn in the fire, of never ending hate.
Who now is the liar, who now controls fate?
The Ghost on the stage, trapped in his cage.
No soul left, for the saving prayer.
The omnipotent theft, adds a new player.
Familiarity in the air, death so near.
Who is there to scare, all cower in fear.
Bitterness has left it's taste, of sweet death.
Worship such a waste, giving away sweet breath.
The Ghost on the stage, has an inner war to wage.
The laughing will never cease, its knowing hold.
No such thing as peace, as my heart grows cold.
Lies so humble, in a world of pain.
Lives will crumble, driving all insane.
Genocide, sweeping the land.
All have died, under the malevolent hand.
What's the choice, the final decision?
Who's the voice, killing with such precision?
Pull away the knife, beneath the skin.
What's the meaning of life, for none can win.
Turn the page, for the Ghost leaves the stage.
Now it's time, for this to end.
The unknowing rhyme rhyme, carried on the wind.
Death lurks, silently in the shadows.

Sands of Time

Waves crash liquid diamonds at our feet,
As we sit a little too close at the shoreline
Imprinting our moment in the sands of time beneath us.
The sweet summer sun casts shadows behind us,
That all too soon will disappear into memory.
I place my hand on yours,
So tender and feminine,
And wait,
Trembling beneath my skin.
Your hand moves like porcelain lace,
Clasping your fingers within mine.
Slowly I turn to face you,
Your hazel eyes
Reflecting the tropical turquoise sea,
And a memory is created.
I find your lips,
Wet, shining like rubies in the sun,
And our kiss explodes within me.
Passion peaked on a nameless beach.
Soon entangled in each other,
As the waves continue to crash over us,
Time after time,
Salty seawater and love’s sweet sweat flow together as one,
Yet that moment will too soon be a memory.
Exhausted and satiated,
We lay together within the crashing waves,
Your fingers clasped within mine,
Imprinting our moments in the sands of time beneath us,
All too soon to be a memory.

Minds Emit Time

Time, the divine
Touches, tickles, and caresses memory of present-blind
So nice, so kind

It is what makes them so blind

Replay
Reminisce
Melt within your mind
Fast forward or rewind

Hope it is bliss, in which you, yourself, and you find

Ravel, Roll, and hide
The unpleasantness inside
Leave the place now forgotten

Fly from fear you childish stork
Flee from where past and present do fork
Currents that now do turn can stain a soft face with paint so stern

The illusion time
And time the illusion
The composer of a blinded minds delusion
Notes weave sweet symphonic confusion
Essence of infinite profusion
A lovely sweet escape

A delayed bitter contusion

Young Eyes

I once knew your point of view.
Innocent and fresh.
Sweet as the mourning dew.

Time teaches lessons sometimes harder than they should be.
Sad as the old lonley man.
Who watches the young lovers so very foolish and free.

Like the seasons of spring and summer.
Along with foolish lies.
I wish you could stay eternal sweet young eyes.

Never to feel the pain or know the cold.
To experience the bitterness of time.
Or the emptyness of growing old.

But with days slowly passing even the
greatest passion dies.
I wish you never to know the truth.
And remain forever my sweet young eyes.
