Sands of Time
Waves crash liquid diamonds at our feet,
As we sit a little too close at the shoreline
Imprinting our moment in the sands of time beneath us.
The sweet summer sun casts shadows behind us,
That all too soon will disappear into memory.
I place my hand on yours,
So tender and feminine,
And wait,
Trembling beneath my skin.
Your hand moves like porcelain lace,
Clasping your fingers within mine.
Slowly I turn to face you,
Your hazel eyes
Reflecting the tropical turquoise sea,
And a memory is created.
I find your lips,
Wet, shining like rubies in the sun,
And our kiss explodes within me.
Passion peaked on a nameless beach.
Soon entangled in each other,
As the waves continue to crash over us,
Time after time,
Salty seawater and love’s sweet sweat flow together as one,
Yet that moment will too soon be a memory.
Exhausted and satiated,
We lay together within the crashing waves,
Your fingers clasped within mine,
Imprinting our moments in the sands of time beneath us,
All too soon to be a memory.
