Dinosaur

What are these ancient creatures?
Which once dominated the earth
Left a mark which we will never forget
They came and saw during the Triassic era
And they continued their reign all through the Jurassic era
Before we starting spending pounds or dollars or Lira
230 million years ago
They dealt with the mammals of their time
With just one blow
And devoured other reptiles as well
Nice and slow
They ruled the seas and oceans almost completely
And they hunted for preys on land quite discreetly
Pterodactyls controlled the skies before the coming of jets and drones
And they communicated with their peers without the need of cellular phones
They lived through the ages for more than a hundred million years
And were the masters of lions and even big brown bears
Before the coming of *****sapiens
They roamed the sands
And conquered other animals in many distant lands
With its blade like teeth and an enormous jaw
Tyrannosaurus Rex was the largest carnivore they ever saw
But my favourite was the herbivore, Triceratops
He could repel an attack by the T- Rex until it stops
And had two horns on its fore head like the sign Taurus
With huge talons on its feet that looks like gladius
And the dumbest was the plant eating Brachiosaurus
With its long neck which made it look simply ludicrous
The dinosaurs prospered and flourished
And they were all over the place
They were man’s predecessors
And ushered in the human race
By design the dinosaur was no bird or reptile
But it may have comprise of the two
Because its spine stood erectile
Always looking for something to bite or chew
One day an asteroid came crashing down
And wiped them out
All the dinosaurs who used to live in our town
The proof of their reign
Lies deep in the soil
While their fossils remains
Their flesh became crude oil

Winding Roads

Did you flirt with Kant, perhaps Aristotle? While you scrutinized Metaphysics, Scholasticism, Augustinianism? Did you look into the constellation of Taurus as you studiously calculated a parallel universe? Did you walk in the theory of grace, to set the pace of ethical well being? Individualism of a laissez faire practice?

Were you an enlightenment thinker with a top hat, carrying a cane, while we drank our Apostelwein 1727 from the famous 12 Apostles cellar in Bremen? Did you teach or ask the questions? Did the students learn from you, did you learn from your students?

Perhaps that winding road of life encompasses a trail of awareness, while we search for the answers to the unknown. Circling back to God, asking him to lead the way on a dark winters day.

The Cold Heart of Consequence

if only i had made better choices
if only i had said no
if only i knew what and where love was
if only i had simply remained faithful
i would be sleeping in a warm, comfortable king size bed
and not struggling to stay warm under a cheap throw blanket in my old 1991 ford taurus
damn right you reap what you sow
the roots are mighty poisonous
the staying power of distrust and the stained change that comes with it
is not worth the time or the energy
treasure and cherish the One that rocked with you from the very raw begin
finding another even close to similar is like going through a car wash full of briar vines
the main difference is that a good heart is being ripped, torn, and scarred
apologies are like sandpaper in a melancholy desert with no sign of relief
when all is done and in the personal history books, nothing salvageable ever becomes of it
though quite a few recover, it is still never the same because of the permanent stain....no matter how hard the work
some may disagree, but what about their eyes on the ceiling in the dark when lost in thought
if only i had made better choices
if only i had said no
if only i knew what and where love was
if only i had simply remained faithful
i would be loungin' in my favorite, cozy chair and not listening to (sittin' on) the dock of the bay in a daze of confusion wasting time

Premium Member Earth's Daughter

(I'm Virgo sun/Taurus moon, both earth signs)

My sun and moon in earth means I require
a stable and terrestrial atmosphere.
As constant as the seasons, I adhere
to courses set; I rarely veer or tire;
I’m self-composed and seldom prone to ire,
for salt of earth has soundness I revere.
And if into a cloud I disappear,
my feet grow roots, and ground is their desire.

Of fire, air and water I have little.
Oh yes, I love to venture into water,
but saner is the land, where I belong.
I cannot fathom those who speak in riddle;
they are of the air, but I’m Earth’s daughter.
Though passion’s flame may burn me, I stay strong.

Cameleopardalis

There came a Leopard in a form of cat
And pur Zeus did as the Dali pet that
Cute kitten, Cassiopeia said at last
While Cepheus questioned
what the dear had in mind…
.
Ruchbah rode with her gleaming knows
Seeking peace in the LapLand groves
But there, what she came to find
Was a change of name for the same of her kind.
Counting sheep and milking cow
She turned to the Ram wondering how
The Pleiades could have left her out…
.
Taurus came and to him she ran
The reindeer games where no longer fun
She was about to come around Orion
When she saw the club that struck the Lion…
so she rolled to shadow
and she LepTus on by,
turning to the right, and up the Gemini…
.
Sirius.ly… that was close. Custos almost
thought but not quite, made a mess I say…
Then Messier came to save the play.
Guardian of the Harvest.
