Earth's Daughter

(I'm Virgo sun/Taurus moon, both earth signs)

My sun and moon in earth means I require
a stable and terrestrial atmosphere.
As constant as the seasons, I adhere
to courses set; I rarely veer or tire;
I’m self-composed and seldom prone to ire,
for salt of earth has soundness I revere.
And if into a cloud I disappear,
my feet grow roots, and ground is their desire.

Of fire, air and water I have little.
Oh yes, I love to venture into water,
but saner is the land, where I belong.
I cannot fathom those who speak in riddle;
they are of the air, but I’m Earth’s daughter.
Though passion’s flame may burn me, I stay strong.

This is an excellent Italian Sonnet; I still have to try one of these, and a Spanish one, too. Our takes on this theme are different; also, yours is more informative than mine. I notice that this sonnet has already received acclaim and glory! [took me quite a while to find it:)] // paul

As has been said before me..and I'll say again..this is a winning poem, Andrea!!! And thanks for checking out my "Who Am I?" poem, I went back and changed (condensed) it...then I went back and reviewed/re-read the contest rules...and Amy stated that a 'minimum' of 14 lines...(not a maximum)...so I put it back to what it was before...but thanks again for trying to keep me in the contest!!:) I appreciate your help anytime!! Love Carrie..besides..it doesn't matter, since this is the "WINNER"!!!! :)

This is the best bio entry I've read to date, Andrea. It's cleverly written and gives explanation for your personality traits. I'm sure you'll do very well with this entry! Congrats -- in advance :) Love, Carolyn

Wonderful poem and no doubt a winner. In answer to your question about "Erased Memories. It is just easier to write in the first person. No only normal forgetfujlness. I have no one with this but was visiting my mother in a nursing home and met a poor old woman wandering the halls crying for her mother. Thus the poem. Thanks for your comments.
